I was not insinuated that you introduced this method of team championship for advantage to AD. I know you are better than that.
Consider another aspect; The drivers championship has many from several teams competing. In theory there is more chance of a team having a driver with a good championship standing since they have more drivers participating. That is fine and the reward for supporting the series.
But those drivers don't get to race in more events than other drivers and discount the worst scores. See?
Wouldn't you AD guys like to pair up and race for the team championship each?
I wouldn't have a problem with that cos each pair would have an equal chance as the rest of us. Two best scores from four racers is less fair I think.
Team Championship is a great idea, it will keep interest for more people and longer. Don't drop it, please
Success Ballast. I understand that's +##kg (not minus as written)
Is this ballast ever removed, or do you carry and add to it as the season progresses? i.e. three 3rd positions and you're carrying 81kg.
Or is it cancelled and replaced by your finishing position ballast for the next event?
so what happens if its a two race event?
Team championship. This sounds like it will much depend on which team has the most drivers for best chance of scoring.
How about fixed teams of two? If there is more than two racers from a team, then they split themselves up into pairs for the purpose of this team championship. Other drivers without a team-mate could pair themselves up also, so they can be part of this championship. This worked well during early Endurance League seasons in 2004.
Wildcard round. This sounds like it will make no difference apart from chosing a round where you will attend. Everyone will get +10 points - everybody's the same.
Wildcard systems are usually a multiplication of your points scored, i.e. double points for one round, so chose a round you think you will do well in.
I hope you will consider these, I'm not trying to diss your system.
Good job I practiced for this track, it definitely requires it.
I made up a position using the better start of the RAC, but the pressure came back immediately. Hyperactive had an easy time taking his position back by passing on the straight.
Then Vain came sniffing for a pass. I went wide on turn 3 - two wheels on the grass where it wants to pull the whole car off, and he sailed by. The rest of the race was spent a second or two behind Vain.
I was surprised to find I finished 4th instead of 5th. Pity about bratwurst disconnecting, very bad luck.
Congrats on a most accomplished season from Ghost, easy to see he had the best speed. I think my 2nd in the championship is only from not missing an event, or disconnecting.
Open properties in master volume (double click speaker icon in system tray)
Choose the other sound card while playback radio button is highlighted. The next application you launch should use this.
Revert back to the other sound card if needed to open more applications, etc.
You have a problem with the start of the oval? Does it matter if you cross the yellow line since the pits are not used and everyone is very similar speed there?
Objects might be recommended for the oval exit, as long as it's something light that won't affect following drivers, such as the cone above. T7R server had some cones in that very spot while we practiced for the MoE, which helped us see the line since you come up on it so fast. Accidental cutting is easily done there.
1 point penalty seems a bit harsh. But repeated knocking of the cones is easy to spot and should be punished. I can't see any legitimate reason for anyone to cut the chicane before start/finish straight, should be no cutting allowed there.
Triple 7 Racing will be using this skin for the start of the 2007/08 season. Sounds like we will have to change it when a racing plate comes into effect.
This debuts our new team maskot, Mr Chimpleton, on the bonnet
Had everyone practiced more for this, or was I just slower?
Started 10th and was mostly surrounded by FZ5s, I hate following them into blind corners!
Got up to 8th, then touched the grass approaching the slow esses - down to 10th again. Swapped positions many times and finished 9th.
I don't think the admins will have a problem with that yellow line since the pits are not in use. Plus I don't think it makes a big difference in speed, only appears so.
I think the success of this series, apart from the excellent organisation of course, is the choice of car. These cars bring out a certain type of racer with good respect for other racers. (plus I love the RAC)
I prefer this format of qualification over superpole because that takes so long and mostly it is watching, but a shorter qual time may mix it up a bit. One thing I think could improve is the start of qualification, as currently it’s a mad rush out of the pits then trying to space out during the lap. Maybe leave in order of garage (nearest to exit) with a few seconds gap?
A longer race length would be welcome from me. Some have suggested a sprint and feature race, but from experience of other leagues I’m not sure about entire reverse grid for 2nd race. That invites carnage! Possibly introduce ballast between the races?
If only non-attendance could be solved, the bane of most league events. Keep up the good work Dan!
I was pleased with qualifying 4th. Just as the race was about to start, I think I hit a keyboard button which minimized LFS. I got it back just in time but had lost AntiAliasing, I was not used to racing with such blocky graphics, it all looked very different!
In the race I was pushing for 3rd on lap 2 but colided with J.Pickard which sent him off. I felt it necessary to wait for him and allow him to pass me, but that proved harder than expected. There was a crash ahead that I passed by but J.Pickard got delayed by it. Then I was going slow to let him catch up, but too slow and I impeded him through the esses. Finally when he had passed I had lost 7 places.
Then 2 corners later I tap him again He managed to carry on but I spun and started again from 18th position.
So sincere apologies to J.Pickard for those silly mistakes.
A couple more incidents and then I finally worked my way back up to 10th. I want to do it again to make amends
Err, thanks for pointing this out from a post I made in 2005!
Call me a rebel, but I use the shift light all the time, I have an external one now
Excellent idea, a cheap homemade alternative to expensive aerials. I'd never thought of this, cheers Dan.
I made two this evening; one for the router and one for the client dongle - taped kitchen foil onto card.

I've always had a problem with our wireless PC, I put it down to the hotwater tank nearly being in the line of sight. I could never get them talking using WPA2, only worked when using WEP encryption. I'll have to try WPA2 again.
Though it will probably reduce the connection to the Wii downstairs
