Have you put them in the subdirectory data/skins ?
data/skins_x is for ones you want to see but don't want to use (i.e. not filling up your selection screen)
Then you need to setup a new colour selection (on left in garage) to set body colour, wheel colour etc, and attach the skin texture (click colours at bottom, texture selection below that).

DFP is designed for PS2 and is advertised as such, but also works on PC where it's appreciated as one of the best for the price. It fully works once you get the drivers from wingmanteam.

I think I also have some of the blue design that Pakalulu has, I'll check tonight.

Hmm tricky against the FZ50 here.
Of course, the RAC has the advantage in the twisty bits and the FZ50 has the advantage on the banked straights - which is easiest to overtake?
Looking forward to it
Improvement requests regarding wind

In the heat of watching the lights on the start grid, I often miss the wind speed information (on the rare servers that use it). Would be handy if it was repeated in one of the F9-F12 displays, for example

Similarly, tracks like Blackwood have flags next to the grid so you can judge the direction of the wind as you set off, while some other tracks are bereft of clues to wind direction at the start - would welcome additional flags for those tracks.

Another small suggestion: the ability to filter out drift servers from the master server list. I get excited when I see an occupied server using road sport cars (LRF), only to realise it's drift

Quote from Spinjack :The gear indicator (1,2,3,4..) on the dashboad is obscured by the steering wheel in the XRR. I never know which gear I'm in (well, not never). Is there a way to fix this?

It is also possible to switch off the wheel in view if you prefer, check the options

Quote from Gentlefoot :Lovely car m8. How does it handle? Which one is it?

Look here, 2.0L Lusso
Handles well enough for me! Not a smooth ride, but takes corners excellent - though I've not pushed it to excess
edit: what I should say is that the handling is largely unexplored since there is so much grip.

How easy is Java?

How easy is Java? I'm a complete beginner at programming but realise how common Java is on modern mobile phones that all have a good resolution colour screen.

I thought an app could send insim/outgauge data via bluetooth (maybe) to a mobile phone to show basic data such as gear number etc. Easy to place near or on a wheel.

Suppose the hardest part would be transferring via bluetooth. Maybe I'm just speaking these thoughts out loud to get confirmation it's beyond me from the start

I've seen Draytek routers that have bandwidth throttling for zones of your choice, but they are a pricey brand.
I'm tempted by a USRobotics router that has QoS - should suffice for the 2 PCs at my place

Quote from DownShift :ok, my team just got a web site. and one of the things some one told me i can use it for is to host a game server. the thing i want to know is how?

Websites can't host game servers, the website is hosted by your ISP probably, by making the information available for download. Game servers require processing power, which your ISP may be able to help with by allocating a machine to do it (expect they would charge).

So you have the option of setting up a host on a home machine, or paying a game-hosting provider - there are a few already setup to host LFS servers like liverforspeed.fr or 500servers
The upload limit of your home machine would dictate how many slots your server could have without causing lag problems.

Do you have more than one controller plugged in? Maybe a jostick as well?
In which case you need to select which controller receives the ffb information in the options (see screenshot).

Also, try setting 'persistant profile' in Logitech profiler. I always do for LFS for best results.

Another thumbs up for irfanview - free and powerfull
Something like a compression quality of 94% is enough to shrink images down dramatically!

There are special sheets of paper that you can print on (inject printer) and then iron on to clothing. I've done it before, but read up on the best method... some say not to follow the instructions that come with the sheets.

I must apologise to NukeLane for slapping his side when catching a slide. I think it contributed to him getting disconnecting
Even though I had a good battle with jojo and XRRoy, I could not enjoy the race because I was contemplating quitting regarding the lap 1 incident.
