Hi my name is Ryan, I'm 21 from UK "whoooooh" okay just me lol.

Iv only got the demo version of LFS but I'm absolutly loving it!! Iv changed my textures ect partly because I was a noob and didnt see I could adjust resolution lol however my game looks great with new trees signs and everything.

The game itself I'd love to be able to play in a modified car such as a golfGTI not a car that is adjusted to handle better or faster I just like the look and ofc you can't have the look and play online the way you want to see it shame cos I'd love to.

I'm compleatly lost how people can be so fast I mean I have same car yet they lap me almost maybe it's my g27 wheel lol :/

Anyway popped on here to say hello and I look forward to playing my demo version! Is s2/s1 worth the money or does everyone play demo?

Ryan.

Quote from super_hoops1967 :What's this about 50% off???

I'm looking at getting a g25 but if I could get 50% off a g27 I'd get one of those instead....

I think its if you have a dfgt, you message logitech saying you want to upgrade to a g27 and they give you a discount code... im not sure mate

Would be an option if I didn't needed at least 2 pots.

I was already looking prices for a G27 and how to use G25's shifter on it, but I don't really like to spend money on a new wheel while mine is still alive hehe

I really hope that these pots arrive, I'm not very confident seeing that they didn't answered my mail yet. Not the way to keep customers happy

Hey all. I have played LFS 5-6 years ago with G25 on demo and had alot of fun drifting, which is the plan once I get my G27. I hope you all welcome me.

I do have a question. I always wanted to get S2 back 5-6 years ago, but not sure if I should now, is the there alot of S2 drifters out there? Or is every one on demo? ( This question comes from seeing posts saying S2 is dead....)

Thanks.

How does the G25/G27 feel with forza 4? I have 2 options. Buy my friend's Xbox and a g25 so i can get my fix temporarily on forza and a low end pc on lfs OR start building a new pc piece by piece.

Wouldn't it be better to get a new G27 instead ? There are ppl out there who would, mainly sell their G25 for the same, brand new G27 price.

Good luck on that.

NOTE: You can get a 50 percent loyalty discount code from logitech if you are planning on buying a g27 from them, by sending them a message on logitech website. That's how I got my G27 [and yes, I had a DFGT previously as well].

I had a look few days ago, and only found G25 pedals+shifter for about 90€

A new G27 costs only 195€, I can't see the logic in the prices people asks for used stuff...

Afaik g25 and g27 pedals are interhangable, how much would it cost to get g27 pedals

Quote from PoVo :Yeah your clutch pedal might break and you will have to become a cruiser.

or you could just use a DFGt and need no clutch, or use g25 or g27 pedals with DFGT if one or the other breaks...

honestly it doesn't Really affect me all that much its just the others who are tighter then 2 coats of paint and wont replace their gear when they break it by getting too kinky...

Quote from Bean0 :The stupidity is from the likes of yourself who have not read the thread properly.

All we are asking for is dedicated server options to filter who can join by control method/driving aids...much like LFS/Airio can do.

See now you explain it, i'm coming around to the idea now that it is actually explained nicely what it's about and yes, I think it should be options, but there shouldn't be people out there who for example set it for G27 only and to ban any other users. Though, there will be.

But some people in that thread are all 'ZOMG KB/PAD USERS CANT DRIVE AND SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY PCARS AT ALL ONLINE!11' mentality, which isn't exactly true....as a look at LFSW would point out, there are quick KB/pad users and clean KB/pad users. I wouldn't rule out cross platform racing at all though (again, portal 2 had cross platform multiplayer when people said Source MP wouldn't work on the PS3), anything is possible and honestly I would expect SMS to surprise us with that as a feature.

I tend to take issue with people who assume all keyboard users or pad users are wreckers, as was the mentality from a few people in that thread and their outright hostility to everything non wheel related. It's pretty stupid and there were several workarounds and valid points from both sides posted that they didn't pay attention to.

Quote from Billz95 :Haha cheers for the help man! All I need to know is what to setup, im such a noob at this stuff and I figured I may aswell buy a wheel if i want to drift on LFS. I have no idea how to set this wheel up haha, if you could tell me what you did when you first bought it to get up and running i would really appreciate that! Thanks for your time and effort in replying

sorry for long time without replying eh basically i set the wheel to 720 degree's tweaked the profiler and ingame FFB settings to my liking ( getting them as realisitic as possible... different settings for different tracks/layouts cars and tandems etc etc )

alot of memorizing, configing etc...

then copy exactly what you see in the likes of all the drift bible videos, lfs driftng videos etc... watching others drift for a minute or two can save you time wondering how does someone get that extra bit of control on entry and such...

get as many different sets as you can for the car, some work better then others with you're wheel... ive now 2 wheels ( g27 & dfgt ) i find the DFGT better, but the g27 slightly more realistic at 900... but you dont actually need that high. I know these things im saying are pretty vauge and i do apologize but its a 2 fold issue you have i think 1) alot of it is live and learn tricks that some teahc others you learn 2) luck is everything... nudging settings to the left or right, trail and error... educated guessing, call it what you will but you have to learn somehow.

basic guide is here on the wiki, reitterates some of what i said, other parts are more for racing config then drifting...

Ill be online in about 1-2 hours i'd assume so if you want to have a session or two let me know ( or anyone else reading this... )

Quote from arc team :Dear guys,

the problem you mentioned is caused by the motor encoder wheel.

If you open the G25 you'll see a small black plastic box on the rear of the right side motor, inside that box there is a PLASTIC encoder wheel mounted on the motor shaft.
During the normal use the motor shaft gets hot and as the time pass by, day by day, the encoder wheel stands a hard wear and tear 'cause it is gripped on the motor shaft (the wheel hole is precise to the shaft diameter to get it blocked)
At a certain point, the wheel gets a crack on its radius (due to the wheel grip on the shaft + heat) preventing its normal rotation on the shaft.

Yes, it's a pain in the ass 'cause it's a lack of Logitech project department.

The solution is to remove the broken wheel, get it fixed with a drop of instant glue and then try to enlarge the wheel hole using a 3.5mm drill bit rotating it BY HAND very very slightly (don't try to use electric dril or you'll get a pulverized wheel!)

Then, at job done, fix the wheel on the shaft again using the same instant glue (ONE DROP!) directly on the shaft and then insert the wheel at the right position and leave it at rest about 20 sec.

Re-assemble the small electronic board and then close the box.

Now your G25 should be fine again!

If this does not fix your issue or you manage to break the encoder into pieces, the answer to your prayer can be found at http://cmlaserservice.com/ This company makes a BRASS replacement optical encoder wheel for the G25/G27. It is $37 (via PayPal) shipped from Thailand. It will take a week or so to get it so be patient.

Danger from footsie with G27 pedals
CheerioDM
No longer welcome
I constantly knock around the pedals for the G27 when the wheel and shift is not there. Does anyone else do this?
Kind of like a foot rest for my restless legs.
They seem to be pretty resistant and durable.

what tips do you need exactly ?

general rules are:

1) get decent setups off setup grid or similar

2) get well set up with no force feedback but no deadspots removed.

3) set wheel to 720 max

4) practice doing 180's and weight transfer ( heavy turn left, feed to the right and vice versa )

5) nail the basis then give it a week or two and you'll be driftin like a boss

6) buy s2, drifiting is generally better on here... same amount of kids moaning all the time but theirs one or two cool people who'll share more personalized sets ( i'e other dfgt users )

7) some people use slightly different tweaks and setups, response rates etc... its more of a live and learn thing for me and my DFGT... but hey, thats half the fun ! again, if you ask politely most should help you no problem, if not, avoid them and their server, they're not worth you're precious time.

if you need any more advanced advice just ask, ive been usin my DFGT about 2 years i'd guess and after buying a g27.... i think ill keep the g27 pedals and use the dDF wheel

I have a Logitech G27 and I always use the same degrees of rotation (and gearbox settings) as there are in each car in LFS, so road cars and UFR - 720° + H-shifter, XFR 720° + sequential, big GTRs 540° + sequential (FZR - H-shifter) and single-seaters 450° + sequential (BF1 - 400°, MRT - 270°).

Although I admit it isn't the easiest to drive but I tend to use my controller as realistically as possible. Having a wheel with up to 900°, why use 270° in an XFG for example
