Hey guys, I have a problem with the LFS, I have a G27 and when I play LFS do not feel the FFB Does anyone know if I have a problem? I play with other games well. Thank You
hello to all that are still active around here! Actually, it's impressive to see how many long time active people are here.
Anyways, I'm seeking advice.
I've noticed over the long term of playing racing games, I pretty much am average/quick, but hugely inconsistent.
I'm blaming it on tactical feedback. Seriously.
I am looking for advice on how to improve my consistency when it comes to driving line, and thus lap times.
Now of course, the easy answer is "practice makes perfect!," however this is not at all the response I'm looking for. Why? Out of the several track events I've done, even from the very first time, my lap times (and line) are typically anywhere from <0.1 to 0.5 seconds (including traffic, surface conditions, etc.) per event.
Even my very first trackday I was under half a second gap during clean laps.
However, when it comes to racing games, my times are all over the place, and my lines are far worse; at least until I get into 'the zone,' which even then, I get worn out after an average of 3 laps when in the zone, and begin to go all over the track and it becomes a mess.
I'm assuming the best thing I could do to get me to something real would of course be a multi axis setup, however that is... well, obviously out of any budget range still lol, and also I don't do it all that much, just whenever I have free time. No leagues, etc. just having fun gaming.
My setup is a completely stock G27, stock pedals, and just wondering if anyone has any advice on what to maybe try or buy that would help hold me in the zone longer, than tunnel vision.
Hi guys, need a little bit of help.
The LED lights are working perfectly but on the G27 profiler, when you hit max throttle all the LED lights flash yet in game they do not, ive tried reducing the max rpm in the G27LED.cfg file and tried other things but i cant get them to flash, also ive tried starting the LED to light up at 3000rpm instead of 4000rpm in the .cfg but this doesnt work
thanks in advance!!
So it's exactly the same on the inside as the G25 and G27 (?), looks like a toy, comes in two versions for multiple platforms, costs a shitload of money, and requires the same shifter to be purchased that was previously with the wheel?
No doubt. Back then, we could smoke in the pits, too.
I was doing a LOT of sim driving from 2002-2009 or so. Between LFS, Racer (www.racer.nl), GTLegends, modded Nascar 2003, and some sim code I was writing, I got burned out. But LFS was my favorite for racing. I was started doing a few track day events a year, and real driving trumped sim driving.
Then my wheel broke, and my PC got old, so I just left the sim world.
But I missed it. I built a new PC last year, and last week I got a G27 at a good price, and installed LFS immediately. It's truly as fun as I remember it.
My big disappointment, however, is locating all my car setups. I know I have them somewhere.....
Oh, and where did all my PBs go on lfwsorld?
Anybody (especially you RSC denizens) remember the "West Brothers" sim images and vaporware?
One more thing I noticed now is when my G27 is connected with pedals without the shifter, it's working fine. When I connect the shifter, all the things I mentioned in my earlier message starting to happen.
Hi, here is the problem: when I connect the G27 power supply to the wall power outlet, put the power cable into the wheel, then put the USB into my PC it calibrates just perfectly, works perfectly too, that's without the pedals and shifter connected. When I plug out the USB from the PC and connect pedals and shifter and plug the USB back in, the wheel calibrates weird, it rotates to the right, stops for a couple of seconds and when it's stopped, the LED's don't blink, they are just froze when lit up, then after a few seconds it rotates to the left and stops for a couple of seconds too, LED's don't blink again, they are just lit up again, after a bit of time it comes back to the middle position. When I went to test it out in the game (Assetto Corsa, Live for Speed) the only pedal working is Brake or Clutch, but only sometimes too, not all time. Spinning the wheel ingame is looking laggy (wasn't laggy with pedals and shifter disconnected), buttons on the wheel shows the FFB effects, which shouldn't happen ingame and shifter buttons don't work, only the gears. What can I do? I had this wheel for only a week, yesterday went to sleep after a game called "Live for Speed" session, plugged out the wheel and put it into it's box, everything was working perfectly when I was playing. Today I woke up, plugged the wheel into my PC and this is happening. I'm really scared for it, that's so much money for me, made all my money investment into it. What to do?
Before the 0.6H update, my Logitech G27 Force Feedback was working in Live For Speed. Ever since the update, it has not worked.
- It works in other games, just fine [Spintires, Nascar 14, ETS2]
- I have reinstalled the Logitech Gaming software as well as the G27 driver
- I have reinstalled LFS multiple times.
I have had several people look at my settings on TeamViewer (all of the usual places like the profiler, the gaming settings, the registry, LFS itself), but to no avail.
To summarise, I get Force Feedback in other games, just not LFS.
The "G" is Logitech's gaming brand. Hence the G5, G7, G15, G25, G27, G35 and other logitech gaming peripherals.
I doubt that Sony would have made such a retarded step backwards. Xbox has always required special security chips, hence Fanatec putting out special "Xbox 360" and "Xbox One" wheels. The PS2 and PS3 all supported any old hardware (provided the game developer built support for it), seems unlikely that the PS4 would change this (as Sony does tend to have a more "open" platform in terms of hardware).
If I had to fathom a guess, it's Polyphony nearing release on a PS4 version of GT, as this wheel follows the button design of the Driving Force GT, vs the G27
Surprise surprise, I thought Logitech have stopped making wheels but here we are. Apparently the G29 Driving Force:
On the face of it, it just looks like a G27 wheel with some DF GT buttons and some extra buttons. People are also saying that it will offer support to both PS3 and PS4 and I would think that PC will also be supported but I've not found any confirmation regarding that. A shifter box can be seen in the background of the first picture.
I haven't found much details regarding its functionality and some people are actually doubting that it's real, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Graphics; Looks good, even with an older card it looks sweet, definatly looks better than RBR. (11 Years newer tho !)
I suspect that like LFS it's more processor based than graphics card. Everything turned up with an old 560 runs fine but that's with an O/C Xeon processor, still, no stuttering or anything. Looks great.
Driving feel; Standard, no, just no. That's with a G27 on stock settings. Basicly feels like every earlier Dirt game, so........
..... much better. I suspect the game really needs careful setup to give it's best. However, bog standard, not even faintly near RBR.
Play lots here to get it right for each person, I'll get back on this.
Menu Setup: ARGH !!!, learn your key/button numbers as that's all it's saying ATM, Use button 17 to save !
First impressions; shows a lot of promise, not as good as RBR yet, but if they keep working on it and sort stuff out, we'll see. Graphics, yes, a win here. Physics, not yet, Occ Rift, well, it's a winner here, as expected.
I've played Codemasters games forever, the early ones were great so I'm really hopeful they'll get this sorted and give us the next great rally game. RBR is 11 years old and it's still the bleeding edge of rally gaming.....
