So found a promotion code (3 month iRacing for only 9 dollar), think I'm gonna resub then since LFS is dead. Gotta get the content for MoE (hope this won't be more than 70 dollars), but first of all I need a new wheel.
My wheel history (MS Sidewinder FF, Logitech Momo Racing, G25 and G27). I found a brand new G27 on eBay for only 200€ and a new Driving Force GT for about 115€. But after being in the city two hours ago and checking those two against each other I really have to say that the DF GT seems to have kinda cheap materials so I think I would purchase the 200€ G27. Or what do you guys think?
Hey. I recently acquired a Logitech G27 and I'm having trouble setting up the clutch.
1). There is no axis for it.
2). I Can not seem to figure out how the to set up the joystick as well.
3). I have windows 8 and can not seem to get Logitech profiler.
Any ideas? I can't seem to find what I'm looking for in past forums.
Save your money, A driving Force GT is $110 second hand on Amazon. Your better saving up and getting that or something (G27) better rather than 'I want NOW !'
It's hard, but waiting will more than repay itself in years of game playing to come....
I stuck it to 9% on g27. 12 felt too high, as I'm using 55% ffb. FFB is real sharp now whilst staying progressive. And since tire model is a little less grippy it comes more alive as you really don't want the lack of grip to result in any sliding.
Hey, I'm a noob here. Not S2 licensed but I will soon. Just got my G27 in today but cant open it until christmas. I'm pretty good with drifting with my mouse tho LOL whassuppppp feel free to add me.
Hello Chaps. Nooob here. 134 pages of noobs it seems.Don't know what im doing yet. Trying to figure things out. Im eager to get into some racing pronto! Last night i was online hooning around and was shocked in the first room i was in. Cars were darting past me at light speed. was not a happy camper till i realized i was in a "tweakers" room. A pointless exercise if you ask me. This is after all a racing simulator. Bought myself a G27 wheel and the lot. So i'll be checking out the various tutorials and hope to get some proper racing done ASAP. Nice to meet you all.
Oculus Rift D.K-2
MacBook Pro - 2011
BootCamp - Win 7
Logitech G27 Stering wheel system ( force feedback )
A few thoughts on Virtual Reality driver set-ups.
I thought better to state "virtual reality" rather than "Oculus Rift" as I hope in time we'll start to see other HMDs ( head mounted devices) become available on the market.
I'm new to L.F.S & as such had a hard time getting my DK2 setup.. but a bit of searching within this forum soon paid off & I was off & racing... ok not exactly racing as I started out solo & am still getting a feel for things, I'm still way to green to be taking on multi-player mode.
* Tip - your first two laps should be done in 2nd gear only .. go real slow & investigate the track..
then slowly each lap build up speed.
I started my first laps with an x-box controller & it was ok.. took me a while to setup the controller buttons.
* Tip - setup triggers for throttle & Brake:
in Options > control you can set the x-box left / right triggers using "Axis"
After two days of racing I decided to invest in a steering wheel system ( Logitech G27 )
Picked on up for $150 on e-bay
I was surprised how easy setup was within Win7 on a BootCamped MacBook Pro.
The physical positioning of the wheel on my desk was easy to. I moved the DK2s camera down lower to help align the virtual wheel to my Logitech wheel.. feels amazing !
i have slightly raised the foot pedals off the ground so it feels more like I'm sitting in the car & feet are slightly elevated.
One thing I'd like to add to crate even more realism is a USB fan that is directed onto my face.. not only wold it help cool my face as wearing a DK2 for extended periods if hot work but creates a feeling of wind rushing past.. Sure would be neat of the developers coould create a USB controller for a fan.. as you build the fan increases in speed. A Thought - Perhaps someone knows of an Arduino sketch that controls a fan.. but it would have to be triggered in game... hhhhmm ?
1.) Which Steering system would work on a MacBook running Win. 7 64bit via BootCamp ?
I'm looking at a Logitech G27 is this ok ??
2.) I have the Rift DK-2 - Now I'm using an x-box controller, is there any way to have the left & right triggers operate as accelerator & brakes ? I believe I need to change the "Axis" in controller set up yes & if so HOW ??
I purchased the full version LFS only five minutes ago... so now it's time to jump back in & see how things go.. in multi-player mode.
Have you tried removing Logitech Profiler completly, as well as removing the G27 from Hardware Devices. And then before replugging, to install Logitech Profiler again, and then connect the G27 via another USB port?

To this day, i had been playing the game for ten days, i didn't got much experience yet, but i wouldn't mind to improve my driving as i get used to this game, that Personal Best was thanks to my friend that helpéd me get started on the game there, still, using a new setting as i had to re-install the game to fix my online lag problem.
Not necessarily a descendant of a great driver or a prodigy, just a normal guy that wanted to try sim-racing for the first time.
Currently make a high 1:33 there because i'm shaping my driving style, i'm consistent, wich i s why i can make very low 1:34's, the reason why i posted here was to see if there exists a team that i could join that accepted drivers with little to basic experience, to basically grow up with them, and make friends, i DO need to learn alot of things...
Otherwise, just want to be a fast driver, and make friends on the long run.
I am Spark and i would like some help from all the people who think they can give some advice. My G27 is working on my dads Laptop and LFS is running awesomely with it. However when i try to play it on my PC it does not work. I tried every USB port and i tried reinstalling the profiller and didnt work. any ideas guys. Please help.
OK I found that my TH8RS gearshift works with autoclutch on - how do i get it to recognize my clutch from G27 pedals? The clutch worked fine when I used the G27 shifter.
Unfortunately it does not seem to work. I can hear the music but see only black picture on both computer screen and Oculus. I've been able to run other games and demos though, like Tuscany, Minecraft etc.
It's a shame though, as I'd like to try it out in tandem with my Logitech G27. Could be a great experience.
Hello. Just get my new G27 today. Have played around with the FFB settings but can't get it right. It feels rough and hard constantly. I mostly want to drift with it. Would really appreciate some settings that will be good for this wheel and drifting. Thanks.
I have been using my G27 Wheel and shifter without a problem in LFS and decided to get a TH8RS shifter for the added realism and am having trouble getting it to work. I disconnected the Logitech shifter, plugged in my TH8RS shifter, it was recognized and I was able to see and configure it in the control section of the options. I set Throttle/ brake axes: separate, Gear shift mode: shifter, and then under shifter->wheel buttons mapped the gears which recognized the input. But when I try to drive, the shifter does nothing. The same setup works in Assetto Corsa. Can anyone help?
Thought about starting up again with some LFSing again and bought a G27.
Its used but in good condition, it shows up in windows and it turns around just fine. But I just cant get it to show up in Logitech Gaming Software, so I cant calibrate it properly.
In LFS for instance, the brake and accelerator is put on the same axis. Which obviously is a "tad" irritating.
Anyone got any decent FFB settings for a G27? Default was shaking my desk and second monitor to pieces, reduced gain to 50% and now it's just practically non-existent.
Multiplayer still seems very annoying. Like for example, if you click a server in the list then click out of it, it takes you back to the top of the server list again!?!?! And don't get me started on how long the setup verification takes - I've missed 2 starts because it had to re-verify my set when I changed it from qual to race....
Hey guys, newbie here. I've experienced some online races with this demo account, it was good, now that I'm considering to jump into the more serious world - buying a S2 license - I realised that my country has almost no LFS players. It would be pretty boring to cruise around with AIs (they can't drive in any custom layouts, right?) or just making some skins and setups.
So here's the question. If ping is too high in multiplayer (like me, at the other side of globe), what exactly happens to other guys? And though I'm about to buy Logitech G27, is it okay to use only keyboard and mouse for playing? It's braking so hard that it locks my tyres every time :P
Heh it has changed quite few times in past few years. Might aswell update it here:
Last post from 2010:
Back then things were looking like this Full album
But later on the seat started to become real back killer and whole rig was taking so much space, that it was time to pack it all away and go back to simpler single pc setup.
In 2012 one of the three Viewsonics literally blew up with smoke and sparks and thought it was time to give proper update to whole 'desktop' at once. Blown up Viewsonic got replaced by Dell U2711 and old small table got replaced by bigger one, leading on look like this: Full album
Also the QX9650 started to show it's age with two Radeon 5870's and it was time to give full upgrade to pc too:
However budget didn't allow to finish this build at that point and GPU's stayed same. Until 6 months later on release of Asus 7970 Matrix.
At the end of 2013 both Viewsonic's got replaced by Benq XL2420T Rev 2.0 144hz monitor to get more space on table:
In February 2014 7970 got paired with Asus 280X DCII TOP to give more raw crunch to cryptocurrency mining. However 5 years of heavy overlocking and benchmarking, PSU didn't like this 24/7 100% load anymore and gave up taking both GPU's with it PSU got replaced by Corsair AX760i and since 7970 didn't have warranty anymore.. Didn't really want to go back to single 280X and decided to go all out for last upgrade to this pc and got Evga GeForce 780Ti Superclocked.
For future, specs stays same until Broadwell-E comes out sometime end of 2015 leaving time for X99 and DDR4 to mature a little. For monitor setup, Oculus Rift will be big part of it next year
@Matrixi, how much was that frame from their shop posted to your door + taxes? Looks something to consider
