I've not got a G27, another 2.1 to add the the mix, a bigger mixing desk and a hella load of oreos....Planning to build something.

Although the G27 detection could use some fixing, I was unable to reproduce this bug with my Saitek joystick connected. I wonder if this is somehow specific to the Fanatec pedals, do they require a special driver to work? Can you by any chance borrow a USB joystick or similar gaming device that could be used as a controller in LFS and test with that?

Hi, I know this is a bit of a delay, but I would advise getting the DFGT as a starter wheel I've had mine for six months, and I've had no problems with it - I just wish I got the G27 now. XD Although, I do plan on making my own H-shifter and clutch at some time. ^_^

It's weird that your G27 gets picked up only in the 3rd call of EnumDevices. Can you try it again with extended debugging info enabled in the config and with the Fanatec pedals disconnected?

Oh and it turns out no shops sell the G27, you have to buy it online, so I won't be seeing you all on track any time soon.

V 1.03 is up. It shouldn't touch any other devices except G27, this will hopefully resolve some of the remaining issues...

If LFS crashes when a G27 is not connected, it's very likely a bug in the drivers of your other controllers which don't handle unknown DI Escape commands properly. This is the kind of problems you can run into when you're using hacked DLLs & co.
I've been concerned about this problem all along, but DInput won't tell me if the device I'm trying to send the LEDs command to really is a G27. I'm opened to suggestions here, but checking the device's VID/PID appears to be impossible the way one would expect to be logical.

As a workaround you could create a small batch file that would rename the dinput8.dll to something else and launch LFS and use that to start LFS with G27 disconnected.

MadCat, would it be possible to add a little function to the file that when one does not have a G27 connected, the LFS would not just crash when entering the track?

Well this thread made me check my bank balance online and consider buying another wheel. If the local PC World's got a G27 I might buy one but I'm not ordering one online and waiting for them to deliver it, it's now or never!

Well, my wheel has one engine that is stronger than the two G25/G27 engines. I believe the CSR Elite has two of these so that will break your hands.

As in the previous review: it's being compared and preferred with the FREX wheel.

I've got to try the Elite wheel myself on an event in Germany. I wish I was still into gaming that much as I was a few years ago, else I would've bought it myself already. It has to be the best wheel I've used in my life and has great options to customize it. The problem (almost) no FFB around the center like the G25 and G27 have is not present in the CSR elite, or any other Fanatec wheel I've tried.

Wether it's worth it is your own opinion. It's a great investment which will last for years without problems and which will never let you down. If you're not happy with the current strenght or quality of a G25/G27 you need this.

My first advice? sell it and save for a G27.

I've had a really bad experience with this wheel, the one I bought came fine, until the shifter paddle springs went.

Honestly-considering it only costs about £40 and by the sounds of it you haven't had it long I'd leave the company-go for something slightly more expensive, or maybe even buy a DFGT/DFP With 900'-they're about £40/50 on eBay, which is a hella load better than £30 on amazon-return it for a full refund claiming that something had majorly gone wrong and I dunno, be creative-say it just doesn't work with your computer/PS3 and you don't want a replacement.

My G27 actually kicked the GT's ass. AND the saiteks.

SHORT SUMMARY-Sell the wheel-buy a DFGT from ebay.
