3drap USB pedals adapter not working

Hi guys!

I'm trying to use G27 pedals via this adapter: https://www.3drap.it/product/usb-adapter-for-logitech-g25-g27-g29-g920-pedals/
This is because I'm combining the pedals and a different wheel.

It works fine in other games, but not in LFS. LFS does detect it, displays its name and it's classified as unknown controller. That's ok for me.

But the problem is LFS doesn't recognize any signals by the pedals.

Do you have a clue what I can do?

Thank you very much! :-)

'Button release' lag G25 [SOLVED]

Hello.
Last month I posted some problems with 'look left', 'look right' functions, that were bind to my G25 console buttons.
It's something opposite to input lag. It's ok when you press button, but when you release it, it lags. It makes racing nearly impossible when you go side-by side and need to watch your sides. It happens with all of my buttons on wheel, same with H shifter, if I shift too fast, i can not shift up/down untill previous gear "button" releases, that leads me to misshift very often. Also it ruins the drift, since the e-brake interval increases unexpectedly.

I didn't find any solution on forums, related to problem I had, so.. I've installed new OS. Clean 64Bit Win10. Fresh G25 driver (lgs510_x64.exe from official Logitech's website). The problem remains. And it is STILL not occurs on previous LFS versions to me (0.6U and lower), so it is NOT a hardware or a driver problem.

It is easy to test: Run LFS and bind HORN function to any G25/G27 button and compare how fast and how short can you beep repeatedly on keybord and on a wheel. And you'll see there's no such delay on keyboard. I'm pretty much sure I'm not alone with this bug.

This stuff is really annoying. Waiting for some help. Thanx in advance.

Thanks for the replies, it's good to hear this setting is helping!

It was designed to avoid changing settings when changing cars.

LFS also tries to add a bump stop when you reach the edge of the in-game car's wheel turn, if the car you are driving has less steering wheel turn than your controller wheel. Unfortunately (at least with my G27) that bump stop isn't as strong as the one that you can get if you set it in the wheel software. But that doesn't actually bother me. Smile

This is a very mouse/kb friendly drift car. My G27 finally completely died after fixing it a few times over the past 11 years and I am still able to drift easily with this mod. I highly recommend this mod if you are using mouse/kb!

Basically, the problem is that I have the g27 configured to always play at 720º of the steering wheel, because when I add more maximum turning angle from 29º to 45, you have to modify "the car's steering wheel turns at 1080º from top to bottom. it always stayed at 720º, fix that defect pleas
any solution of the 720º degrees??

Hello everyone, I refloat this issue ... I don't like anything but someone will have the solution ... the issue of 720º in virtual steering wheel without losing maximum angle of rotation? Let me explain, 90% of the time I do drift and I have always played with the xrt with 720º of controller, 720º in the g27 steering wheel and in the virtual steering wheel that is seen on the screen, but since they updated, the steering wheel is gone virtual to 1080º, having to lower the maximum turning angle from 45º to 29º to continue at 720, but losing many skills in the game, any solution? hug

The release of the new Fanatec DD wheel has made me think of upgrading from my current Logitech G27

Now I only play LFS. I read previously LFS did not work that well with direct drive wheels or at least didn't use them to their full potential due to the current state of LFS FFB? Or was that improved in 0.6V?

Does anyone have experience with DD wheels and LFS and do you think its worth the upgrade? I could go to a belt driven wheel but with the price of the new DD CSL (5NM) being what it is it seems like a no brainer.

All the buttons, LEDs and rotary encoders on the wheel rim of most wheels and also in G series Logitech wheels are first connected to the electronics on the small PCB, just underneath the plastic. Those signals are then serialized by the use of shift register chips. Usually, each can handle up to 8 buttons, or 8bit shifts. Connecting those chips in series makes it possible to have many more buttons. This PCB is connected to the main PCB in the wheelbase by usually no more than a 6 wire cable (SPI). On both PCBs they put cheap small connectors. The cable needs to be twisted in a coil or spring to allow the wheel rim rotation without tearing it.

Now, your problem may be in any of those points. I would say this is the most probable failure order: cable came loose on the connector in wheel rim PCB, some of the wires got damaged, or a dead shift register chip. These are the points where you might find a problem and fix it. The problem might even be on the main PCB itself. If so, unfortunately, nothing can be done.

G27 has 6 buttons, 2 paddle shifters and 5 LEDs (10 total). Not exactly sure how they wired the shift registers, I never opened it. At least on G29 wheel rim they have 3 of these chips. You say 1 paddle shifter is still working. Did the other buttons just stop working all at once?

Logitech g27 only right paddle working.

Hi.
None of the buttons one the steering wheel are working along with the left paddle shifter on my G27. This is not an LFS only thing, The g27 driver doesn't pick up inputs from any button on the steering wheel.
However the pedals, H pattern shifter and buttons on the shifter all work fine along with all the shift lights. Which leads me on to think that the problem is in the pcb behind the steering wheel where the shifter paddles are.

Does anyone know why this is happening and if it is fixable or not?

Thankyou.

its possible make steer animation independent from car wheels degree? or match it with the wheel usb device degree? example g27 turns 900, but if i use XRT with 45º lock the steer turns 1080 degrees.

Hi,just wondering, but now when drifting is real weird steering specially on fast transitions. In my case(old G27) feels like FF drop in wheels middle positions while going fast transition from lock to lock. Just wondering what exactly cause that. First thing that effect it,is obviously that previous for example XRT was 720degree lock to lock on 45degree setup, but now 1080 to 45 degree. Next thing is new FF values, what values was in previous LFS by default ? So right now for me is that annoying thing, when wheel is like dropping FF in middle for about second...

It does, altough that goes beyond my limited knowledge of this stuff, sorry. Big grin

I have heard of an issue where someone had a thrustmaster wheel with what i think was G27 pedals, connected to the thrustmaster wheel base that caused some issues with pedals not being able to be seen in the axis menu. I think that was fixed with having separate usb connections for the wheel and the pedals. If you have your pedals connected to the wheel base maybe that could be the problem as well. If not, then i'm afraid i can't help as that's all i know about this subject. Big grin

Indeed : running Assetto Corsa before make the wheel to appear completely deactivated in LFS then. The workaround is as said by CrazyBrit to simply run to the calibration of logitech : press a button or a pedal, and when detected, everything will work fine in LFS ...
Clearly weird ... @Scawen : I think you have a G27, and I suspect you may have bought AC to test it => do you experience the same ?
G27 shows but unresponsive.

Hope someone can help.
I have just come back to this game after a few years out.
Have just downloaded the latest V version.
Loaded it up and unlocked. Was setting all the options up, but when i got to the controller section, it shows my G27, but none of the Axis detect movement when moved or pressed.
I have made sure that I have selected wheel, but nothing. All latest drivers and updates.
Anyone able to help?

Thank you

Quote from Degats :Tested and working fine Thumbs up

Would it be an idea for the "refuelling allowed" rule to be shown on the server rules when clicking on a server in the server list? (along with pitstop required etc)

Thanks for the test and yes I should include the rules on that page.

Quote from R0ut66 :Why change the whole system sensitivity just to make the car more driveable? For me makes no sense. LFS should have an mouse sensitivity option

As kagurazakayukari says, LFS uses the mouse movement all the way from the left side of your screen to the right side of the screen to move your car steering from the left to right extreme. So it's already as 'insensitive' as it can possibly be. Are you using full native desktop resolution for LFS? I can only think of slowing down the mouse movement in Windows (but I think you said it is already as slow as possible) and what about making sure mouse acceleration is switched off?

Quote from Extreme1234 :How will maxing out ff steps and ff rate efect my G29? Would it make it feel more detailed? Can you explain what those values represent in ffb?

400 steps means that the steps of force go up in steps of 25 'units' where 0 is no force and 10000 is maximum force. I think the default of 400 steps and 50 Hz is enough on a G27. I don't know about a G29. To feel the effect you could reduce the number of steps to a low number then try driving a car in a slow slalom from left to right. You should notice the 'notches' as the force increases. So then you can increase the number of steps to the point where you can't feel the notches.

The reason for limiting the steps is to avoid constantly streaming new forces to the wheel, when the force hasn't changed enough to notice. This seemed to be a problem on older computers when this could reduce responsiveness by overloading the operating system with new force requests. I don't really know how much of a problem it is these days to send excessive force changes. The high numbers are really for direct drive wheels where the tiniest changes become noticeable.

I was a big fan of this game. I was the one who hosted the Freaxx servers with my own created mods that forces the players to drive correctly: you weren't allowed to leave the pit if a racer was approaching, you were sent to the pits if you stood still on the track (but it was no problem if you were on the side), etc... etc... I had great fun creating those mods and lots and lots of people enjoyed my servers.

But then I lost interest and now I'm a full Linux user and the game doesn't work on Linux, which is sad because I really believe that shouldn't be a very hard port to create. Also, I became too lazy and can't bring myself to sit at a desk behind my Logitech G27 steering wheel anymore. I only game with my laptop on my lap, so games that need the mouse are a no go too.

What I remember most is that I did some of those very very long race tracks and did them for 50 laps or more, trying to drive every lap perfectly, trying to use the pits optimally. For me that was an enormously RELAXING experience and I am still looking for games that give me that same relaxing feel. Kingdom: New Lands has the same relaxing experience for me. I hoped that Ultimate Driving 2D (top down racer) would have the same effect but the game really can't compare to LFS at all.

Hi DarkTimes, I used a slightly updated version of your pyinsim in my g27 linux leds project (see forum). I have modded the outgauge reception to work with python3, as 2.7 support ends this year and I didnt want to create something thats obsolete soon Smile
Are you planning to port the whole project to python3 anytime or even add support to this new custom outsim packet Scawen introduced in the last test patches?

Go Options > Display > Show pedals - Yes

Now when you press your pedals you will see an indicator in the bottom right corner. All three pedals fully pressed should look like this:

There should be no indication at all if pedals are not pressed.

If that's not the case for you then go Options > Controls > Axes / FF tab and check your settings. I attached my G27 settings screenshot. I guess it should be same for your wheel.

What's the take on using a regular 1080p TV (or slightly higher, with HDMI input) as the primary device for racing? Is this 'input lag' on TVs, that I've read about, cause for concern when it comes to using the G27 for LFS, AC etc.?

My current laptop died on me and am trying to figure out my options on a very tight budget. Can I go the TV route (with a LFS-friendly PC setup) without much fuss?

Thaaanks!

Hello, i have went through the posts of the Forum and have seen that some of you guys have expertise that i require, I recently bought a G27 which has a snapped red Cable at the Shifter potentiometer right where the Superglue is i cannot get to it because the broken off part is right by the JST port so i can't solder it or remove it because the entire thing is coated in Glue.

I wanted to know if anyone knows which type of JST connectors they are so i can order them and just solder the cables together.
I took a Picture from a different Poster who had a similar issue here is the JST connector and the Cable in question

Hope i can get some help i have been trying to read up things for atleast a Year but i can't seem to find any information mostly only about the Wheel itself the G29 Driving force shifter seems to have the exact same Cables and JST connectors.

Thank you for having taken the time to read this.

Quote from Scawen :Thanks for the information. That crash (0xc0000005) is a memory access violation.

Unfortunately the offset of the instruction that caused the crash is not within the LFS exe. It might be in D3D or the Pimax drivers (or the graphics card drivers). That doesn't prove that LFS is not at fault but it doesn't prove it is at fault and certainly does mean I can't locate the problem.

I have the same issue again. Also after PItool update (to version 1.0.1.259). :-( But other VR-games (like Fruit Ninja or Vanishing Realsm) work fine. BTW: Reinstallation of the current NVIDIA drivers does not solve the issue this time.

If I'm not mistaken other drivers also have pimax headsets. Nobody else has problems?

I still post the deb.log.
