I've been reading about GT5 on other sites, really funny to read people's comments on how realistic that series is. I'll admit that it does look nice, but the physics will most likely be a turn off for me. Also I don't have a PS3.

So did any LFSers make the initial Pro series list?

My oval rating has been improving now that I've gotten a handle on the truck, don't think I'll be anywhere near the top 250 in 2 months though.

Can't get to YouTube at work, I'm going to guess that's Raffaele de Rosa's near crash though, and it was awesome. I love how he just shakes his head in disbelief when he gets back on the bike, I think he's going to need to change his pants though.

Quote from Bob Smith :Which I had already come across. That info is both outdated and insufficient for what I require. Thanks for trying though.

My test in LFS yields restricted values of:
440hp @ 8100rpm
314lb ft @ 6300rpm

Sounds about right for the RPM at max HP, with the restrictor plates on I don't think they get them up much over 8000.

"NASCAR's Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series currently uses restrictor plates at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. NASCAR routinely states that the Sprint Cup restrictor plate reduces engine power from approximately 750 hp to approximately 430 hp."

I have no hope for the physics in this game, and I doubt I'd stay interested in it for more than a couple days, but it sure does look pretty. I haven't played a Codemasters rally game in a while, I might give this one a try.

I had one of those after going out to a bar in Germany, soooooo good. Makes me hungry just seeing that picture.

Over here(really its pretty local to my city and the surrounding area) we have the infamous garbage plate for drunken eating:

Well, I wouldn't exactly call the G8 punishment. As you can tell though, I'm a GM guy.

Quote from tinvek :i assume after today's update that the reset ban is now operational for class C and above ?

Yeah, release notes:

Quote :
Resets

When you run out of resets and try to reset again you will no longer get pulled out of the car ending your race.

Exiting the car is considered a reset, when your limit is reached you will not be able to re-enter the world.

You can exit your car and re-enter the world without limit while people are getting onto the grid at the start of the race, but the instant everyone is on the grid exits are no longer free, so only do this with caution (wrong setup, fix calibration, etc) or you may get locked out of the race.

Quote from Linsen :Overall I agree with you. Many people are just incapable of realizing that in most accidents there was at least a little something they could have done to avoid it or minimize it's impact

A good point. The whole SR system is making me evaluate my driving more and more now that my rating took a huge hit after getting promoted last season. I want to be aggressive and gain spots when I can but you have to know when to back off and give a guy space so he doesn't wreck into you.

Quote from atledreier :I am always near the back of the pack, and somehow always avoid the 'carnage' you guys talk about... I wonder how some guys get all the bad luck and always get taken out by others by no fault of their own...

Takes two to tango, and it takes two to have a collision...

It's one thing to start at the back and just ride around to increase your SR. It's another thing to start at the back and try to work your way up through the field for iRating. A couple days ago I did a modified race and a Legends race. Both races I started near the back and was picking guys off working my way up, and both times I was underneath someone, they got loose and spun down into me, nothing I could do about it. Sucks, but that's racing sometimes.

I think the whole thing is blown out of proportion by the media.

Me and my friends are planning a Swine Flu BBQ this weekend, only pork allowed on the grill. And we're going to wear those masks while we cook...can't be too safe.

Quote from mrodgers :The tooth fairy is real. It is real in the minds of millions of 4-5-6 year olds around the world.

Girp Driver lives around the Denver, Co area.

That's $2000 I have coming to me now

OK just send me your bank account details, social security #, etc and I'll get that right over to you.

Quote from GrIp DrIvEr :No I didn't. I need to have legal rights to actually carry out the bet, it is illegal in some cases to even bet on the internet like this, I am not over 18, and it needs to be somehow approved, in my case, the US government. Also, you have no right whatsoever to take money from me, and I also have no idea where you even live.

I'll give someone $1000 if they can find out where Grip Driver lives!

Nope you're right, they said you'll be able to view numbers/logos in the paint chooser in the next update, but it doesn't work right now. Its annoying for testing purposes, that's for sure.

Quote from simscube :Older games had more action and gameplay, new games are too worried about their length that they forget about quality.

This is true. Probably one of my favorite "modern" games is Ikaruga. You can play through the entire game in a half hour, but its a blast to play. It's also more like an old school top down shooter, just with more modern graphics and some cool gameplay twists added. New games try too hard to go for the wow factor of fancy graphics and try to claim a long play time, and most of the time they miss out on having actual gameplay to back that stuff up.

Just thinking about Ikaruga, I think I'm going to go hook up the GameCube and play.

I haven't raced with it yet, I'm just getting promoted to C next week. I've done a little testing and it seems fun, kind of like the FOX on LFS maybe, possibly a little quicker. I'm looking forward to getting into it next season.

Quote from trebor901 :what is a better car to buy? the Chevy Impala SS Nascar or the Star Mazda?

What license do you have? In my opinion no real point to buy the Impala if you can't race it yet.
