I think the Jetta looks like plastic, hopefully they fix that by the time it comes out.

Quote from Scrabby :Nice!, Missed my promotion :'(

You have until next Monday for Class D-A promotions, unless you're talking about Pro which already happened unfortunately.

I'm pretty pumped about the Lotus tomorrow. Not planning on really racing online with it but it looks like it will be a blast to just mess around with.

I did an MMA race last night in the Radical, it was a lot of fun. I've only done 1 Skippy race up until this point I think, only reason I raced last night is because I do a lot of offline Radical at Laguna since its a pretty cool combo. I might get into racing the Radical some online now that I will have my B road license.

Also did the oval race with the CoT at Michigan, first online race in that car for me. It sure is a pig but I actually enjoyed the fact that you really have to let the thing roll through the corners and it hurts you if you jump on the gas too soon. It was fun watching people dive into the corners as I backed off way sooner than them, then I'd come screaming out of the corners at what felt like twice their speed. I can't wait until I can race them online during the season.

Yeah I feel pretty bad for him. He said he came in even slower that last pit stop to make sure he didn't speed and they still got him. I'd really love to see some kind of investigation into it but I doubt it would happen, just sucks for Montoya. He'll make the chase I think though, he's been running real strong lately, and Watkins Glen is coming up where he should be a favorite.

Yeah, as much as I always say that I just want better physics over graphical improvements, I can't WAIT for night racing in the modifieds.

Braking thing sounds awesome, can't wait to see what that's like.

No mention of the Corvette though, boo.

Eh, I'm at 2.83 already so I don't have far to go. The Solstice is just less risky for me, less of a chance of incidents if I just hang back at the start. I wouldn't mind Radical TT's but I'm going for the C license right now so I can't race them yet. Me and the Mazda just don't seem to get along.

There should still be rookie races I think, so I'll just use the Solstice if I need to. I already have my MPR done.

Do promotions happen at the start or end of Week 13? I need to get my road SR up.

Nope, he said he's going to write one up soon though. He just gave us that info to hold us over I guess.

Quote from Falcon140 :Don't we all. ESPN is a lot better than TNT, but nothing beats FOX, excluding that damn gopher of course..

Yup, FOX wins hands down. May sound weird, but they have the best sound team out of all the networks and that's why I love their coverage, everything sounds 100 times better when its on FOX for me. Makes me feel like I'm actually at the track when I crank up my surround sound, I love it. It would be even better if I could just turn off the commentary and listen to the cars for 4 hours, their "Crank it up" is nice though.

Does anyone know how many employees they actually have? I'd be interested to see a list of how many people they have and in what positions. To me it doesn't seem like they are a very big operation.

Quote from Crommi :Funny thing is, sounds are done by same company.
http://www.soundwaveconcepts.com/

Very interesting. Tim Wheatley did state the other day though that he also feels like iRacing is lacking in the sound department:

"I just know the sim is WIP - as it's always stated it is, I know the recording is correct, like it is for all the cars, the playback needs the work, and unfortunately you're just going to have to wait."

So it sounds like its a problem with the software, which I guess is a good thing since they at least have good recordings already, so when they feel like fixing it the sound could get much better.

Quote from TexasLTU :It's actually makes point, that you should'nt ignore your parents, whatever they have done for you.

Yeah but the point is, if you need to watch a YouTube video to figure that out, then you're doing it wrong.

Quote from ACCAkut :One should never forget what your parents do for you, even in difficult situations with them.

Took me about 22 years to realize how much parents have to give up to raise their kids. After I graduated college I somehow started getting back into going to local race tracks, which me and my dad used to do when I was a little kid. For some reason that stopped, probably because of playing sports and there were 4 kids in my family, just no time or money to go to races. Well when I started going again me and my dad went to the local track about a half hour from my house one Friday night, and as we were walking in he made the comment that he probably hadn't been there in 15 years and that's when it hit me, he was so busy raising his kids and working overtime on the weekends that he hadn't been able to do something he loved in 15 years. Probably sounds corny but its something I won't forget because that was the exact moment I realized how much he sacrificed to give me the good life I have today.
