I was being serious about the simulation vs real thing

Also could a game like this help with a childs education??? I'm sure it could.

I see everyone's just assumed that he is talking about normal road driving?

Perhaps you could write an essay about how a racing simulator can improve your technique as a race car driver, maybe that would be the way to go.

Or a flight simulator helps with the training of pilots.

Or a FPS helps you become a terrorist or mass murderer

Or the Sims 2 helps you become a plonker at life.

Or GTA helps you become a Glaswegian.

Edit: Thankfully I only play Sims 2

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Theres loads of ads in magazines and on ebay, just have a look around, i had a leaflet but i lost it

Hi pearcy thanks for the reponse mate. I can find plenty of new rigs playseat, Fanataec, Obutto (LOL maybe in 2099), Nixim etc etc. What I really fancy is someones custom rig that they have perhaps fallen out of love with or don't do simming anymore.

I can't find anything on ebay surprisingly except a new gameracer. Maybe I'm searching wrongly

If I can't find anything then a new rig it will have to be. Thought I'd try seeing what's out there first

Edit: Due to laziness I cannot be bothered building my own rig, if some handyman wants to build me something I will pay them for their time, proof will be needed of their handywork though
Anyone selling their sim rig/cockpit?

Hi folks,

Is anyone trying to sell or thinking about selling their sim rig/cockpit at the moment, or even know of any sites where some one is?

I'm looking for a good quility rig that can be home made or not and will pay good price for the right rig.

UK preferably but I will pay shipping from anywhere for the right product.

Thanks for listening

Quote from Furiously-Fast :... You shed out £24 for another S2 account, because you got perma-banned from your favorite server.

LOL I like that one

Just go online mate, say hello and declare that you are new, most people and servers are quite forgiving, if they are not you're better off not racing in there anyway.

Give it a try online racing is where the fun really is, not much to be learned really from racing the AI. Beinf slow is never a problem (Iknow because I am v slow), crashing into people is. Just learn to identify in the map when you are being lapped by the leaders and let them pass easily and you'll be fine. Be aware of the other cars around you etc. Save the replay and watch how the fast guys are doing it.

Have fun!

Quote from StableX :I think you can get nascar 2003 on play.com but nicer to get it from someone here - sorted

Andy??

Sod off!

Hehe only kidding, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get the sierra Nascar 2003 at play.com these days. I've done a fair bit of searching around and they are like hens teeth.

Where the heck did the saying hens teeth come from?

Edit: I have found Nascar for dummies book at play.com so I'm going to order it up

My credit rating still sucks from my younger days so I cannot get personel credit even now. My wife on the other hand who has not needed to work for the last 15 years gets any credit she wants, very strange.

I did a couple of years ago get a £25k overdraft on my business account in order to buy a used E46 M3. For the first couple of weeks I thought it was great, but after that it just became like any other car and was only used when I needed to go anywhere, so it was sold for almost what I payed for it.

If you are going to get credit for a car i would recommend getting a car that is 3 yrs old so most of the depresation has already happened.

I find the wanting, searching out and drooling over a car far better than the reality of owning one TBH.

Now a days even though I could probably afford a decent car I have currently an old soft topMG-f hairdressers car that is in the garage because the weather here is shite and a 2001 Ford Focus 1.6, both bought from the motor auctions for sweeties

God I am getting sadder by age

Edit: Oh does iRacing count as a monthly car outgoing before I vote?

Never heard of the Rock clan to be honest, do you have your own tartan? I'm in the Robertson clan....but anyone that's in a clan deserves a chance in my view.

I like it and am using it right now as I cannot race online.

It's worth it just to be able to get all the cars that come with the power and glory mod.

Racing around Knokhill for me is enough to make the purchase worthwhile.

Try nogrip website for extra tracks and mods and users forum.

The physics are not that bad at all IMO.

You'll need a good PC to run it at full graphics though.

I heard Race 07 was on sale for £4.99 now that is not bad.

Is there a demo you can try AMB?

Coolios, should be all sorted.

Thanks for the deal Alex

Now anyone got any oval track maps, I'm not sure whether to go left or right

Hmm Oval.....I take it I just strap my G25 up at 45 deg, put a weight on my gas pedal, go to the pub and come home drunk to find I've won the race??

Quote from DarkTimes :Yeah, I have a PayPal donations page setup for payments for my web sites, so that's not a problem. I looked it out there. It's boxed, with the original manual, and a valid CD key. I can take some photos of it if you need. £40 would be awesome. Let me install it to check the disc is working correctly and I'll get back to you, as it's been many years since I used it last, and it would be shit if I sold it to you and it had stopped working.

Darktimes you do realise that you could get more than £40 if you sold it on ebay. I have seen them go for more than £100?? I would hate to think I was ripping a fellow countryman off

Racer325 the reason it is so expensive is because you cannot buy it anymore mate and apparently it is the essential Nascar sim. Although I'm not that deperate to pay silly money for it

Quote from DarkTimes :I have a copy of N2003 lying around, a couple of scratches, but still works fine. Name your price.

2 pence and a Mars Bar?? LOL

Well come on ask a Scotsman to name his price

Do you have paypal mate? I will give you £40 for it?

Edit: Has anyone tried ARCA sim racing? Some reviews say it's great but some hardened sim raers think the opposite....so I'm confused.

I'm not paying £75 for second hand.

Any others sims that are worth a try?

Edit: Hehe I have iRacing and all the content....just can't race it due to internet at the moment, hence why I want to try out another sim to practise offline for iRacing while my kin internet is down
Recommend an Oval Sim Please

Due to my having to race offline at the moment I was wondering if anyone can reommend an Oval sim. The basic idea is for me to learn what Oval racing/ stok car raing is all about so I don't feel like a complete twat when trying out stock car racing on another online only sim when I eventually get back online again.

I've heard that Nasar 2003 is the best one but seems to cost an arm and a leg on ebay. Is there any others I should look at?

Thanks for any help

Quote from spiderbait90 :I have to agree. The dev's, no matter how easy to talk to, access whatever you want to call it, are game developers, not your pal's (They might be, but you know what I mean).

Quote from three_jump :What Eric said should have been posted a long time ago.

Yes I agree, if he had done then it would have stopped this nonsense a long time ago. I do feel he was a bit harsh in his post as all his fans wanted was a response of any description to show he is alive and well

On the other hand a game forum would not be a game forum without people moaning about content, updates etc.

I have said this before, LFS is not a subscription service, we paid for a game and what we paid for is what we got. I did not pay for updates and future content anyway.

If the developers were never to release any more content that is their issue.

You want to see some top class whinging then visit the iRacing forums now that's what I call premier league moaning.

I sense a Radical 70's party night on vent coming along. What about next Friday when my non dial up internet is back up (Hoorah)??

70's music in the background, 70's skins on the TBO's required for entry and a few beers. I'm sure I have some flairs hidden away in my cupboard, if not I know StableX has plenty as that's all he wears still. I think 1973 was the last time he went outside was it not.

I'm gonna stik on Power and Glory mod for GTR2 right now and run a few laps in a Mustang just to get in the mood
