Its easier to catch slides, and when you are driving the FXR with locked diffs, you don't have to turn the wheel 540 degrees just to turn into a corner.
Set the Logitech profiler to 720 degrees
Set LFS in game settings to 720 degrees
Set wheel turn compensation to 1.0
This will give you 1:1 matching for all the cars, but you will only get FFB stops at 720 degrees. The only way to change the FFB stops is to change the Logitech profiler options.
Personally I use
-540 in profiler
-720 in lfs
-wheel turn compensation to 1.0 in lfs
This makes it so the road cars use 540 degrees, the GTRs ~400, the formulas ~340, BF1 ~300, MRT ~200.
Hmm since this thread has been bumped I'd like to add my thoughts.
I really like Microsoft hardware. Some of their products are really good quality. I have a Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and find it very good for the money. Nice solid plastics, none of this bling bling flashing LEDs rubbish that you find on 'gamer mince' these days.
I really think that Microsoft could make a good FFB wheel to compete with the G25
Meh... people should just take the time to learn how to setup a car. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes a lot of fun. Learning how to setup a car properly will also help you with your driving, and managing your tyre temperatures. If all else fails then just download a hotlap setup off team Inferno and reduce the camber and increase the tyre pressure, that literally takes 10 seconds to do and I can be within 1 second of the WR no problem most of the time.
-1. Just because a few people can't be bothered setting up their car, everyone has to suffer a potentially poor handling setup? no thanks.
For road cars and GTR:
Very slight oversteer. I can run faster times with a loose setup. For enduro races I use a more stable balanced setup, so I am slower, but I don't crash
For single seaters:
perfectly balanced, but I suck at single seaters anyway.
before you make your pit stop, press F12 and then use the arrow keys to change options - like how much fuel you want to add, and if you want to repair damage
Low 1:14s on blackwood. I have the split times for 1:13.9 but I just have to put the lap together. My blackwood set could do with some work fixing understeer on turn in and oversteer on exit.
1:06.99 is my best on SO6. SO6 set is working well, just need more practice.
It depends on the setup, I tested with BF1 using R4s on the front, and it seems that the AI doesn't slow down in time because they lock up the front tyres.
Change your gear ratios. With the new realistic red lines and power band the gear ratios really matter. My old blackwood set (partyboyU or whatever) was geared too tall, because the new track is tighter. I easily cut 1-2 seconds off my lap time just by fixing the gear ratios.
I had a quick read of the script guide on LFS manual, and it seems that its not possible to make a script 'hold down' a key, so it won't be possible to make a lfs script to do the instant 90 degree look. -edit- maybe it is possible, ill look into it after dinner.
It would be possible to make a macro do the instant 90 degree look with a macro program like AutoHotkey.
For those of you that don't want to bother with any other programs, and just want to use the built in nvidia control panel, here are some screenshots. Set the antialiasing higher than 4x if you want (my graphics card slows down too much if I use 8x) You also might want to turn on Transparency antialiasing (only works on 7 series or higher cards).
CTRA Race1 is good for the XRG, but there aren't many good servers for the XRT. You could try CTRA race 2, but that has become bad since they introduced the handicapped GTR cars.
If you turn off auto clutch you can shift from 5th to 2nd instantly, but it doesn't help you. You are better off shifting down 4th, 3rd, 2nd, blipping the throttle just after you shift for extra engine braking. I can cut about 25m off the braking distance doing this.
