Quote from spajki (cro) :Ok... I think i got that part about CTRA... etc. But i saw on you tube people driving in Blackwood car park and it was changed into drifting circut, do i get it with my S2 or is that some kind of tweak / mod? Because it was full of those red-white barriers, cones,,,,,

Thanks in advanced, and sorry for bugging you all with kind of stupid questions.

In S2 you can place objects like barriers and cones to make autocross or drifting layouts etc. Some servers you join have layouts setup, and if you are the server admin you can place and delete objects.

Quote from The Very End :I have big problems mastering the MRT.
If I get a slide with it I`m screwed in most cases. The only way for me to not crash is to eighter slam the brakes, so I only slides the front wheel and then again stabilisates it, the other way is to completely go off the trottle and try to recover it.

But I can see why people like it, because it`s damn challanging to drive hard, uhm..that didn`t sound right, what I meant that it`s not a car you could drive at it`s limit all times. If you push it too hard, it will cost you, and thats a good thing

You just need a good MRT setup. Try this setup, I use it on every track, and its easy to recover from mistakes.

Use Anti-Aliasing and Anisortorfic filtering. You should find these options in your graphics card driver control panel. Do you have Nvidia or ATI?

Why don't we all post what we can get working. Lets make a list.

This is what I can get working so far:
-Steering lock
-BF1 traction control minimum speed
-Brake force (effects the handbrake, set it to a -ve value for fun)

settings I can't get working:
-ride height
-camber
-toe
-stiffness
-voluntary added mass
-tyre pressure

It depends on what mood I'm in. The XRT is very good fun and so is the FXR and FZR.

InSim is awesome. Its like metamod for Half-Life/Counter-Strike.

Metamod for Half life allowed custom server .dll files to be used, so all sorts of fancy mods could be made. Some of those mods were used for 'mucking around' type stuff, similar to cruise servers with LFS. But some mods were really useful for competitive Counter-Strike matches, a ready function, keeping track of who is winning the match, warmup time, automatically switching teams at half time, taking end game screenshots and saving them on the server.... etc.

InSim has 'mucking around' type stuff like cruise servers too, but its also really useful for proper racing. eg. LFS lapper is a nice application. All sorts of things could be made in the future: automatically update and upload results of a league race to the website; automatically keep track of results and points in a league; have a server admin hierarchy system where different people have limited admin rights; setup a server for a league race or public settings with one button. Heaps of useful server mods could be made...

I tried this, but just tapping the buttons is better for me. The problem is using both the X and Y axis at the same time. When I just normally steer with the mouse I move it up and down a little bit, I move it in an arc shape from side to side. When I try to brake and accelerate with the Y axis I cant keep the steering straight.

Hi, I need a setup for a 10 lap race on Aston National in the FZR. I already have an inferno setup that I have modified, but it isn't too wonderful, and I would like to try some different setups.

Thanks in advance.

hey Intrepid: just admit that you suck. That was a shitty pass, no wonder you got crashed. You would have been banned on the servers I play on if you made a pass like that.

Looking at your LFS world stats it seems that you suck at winning races. I have done 1/2 the distance and laps that you have, but have won more than 2 times the races than you. Obviously you're making bad passes like that and getting crashed.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Well I just finished Episode 1 (which I didn't buy - someone gave it to me). First... 90% or so I got really annoyed with that girl constantly patronising me. There were a couple of decent gags (Barney's crowbar provision, Alyx's "Is it dead? Why don't you hit it with your crowbar to make sure.") but not enough to offset the general annoyingness of Story Propulsion Girl.

The finale was suitably big and explosion-packed I suppose, for a game that is basically an action movie with mouse-waving required, but I was tired of being led from set piece to set piece long before I arrived at that most convoluted of set pieces. In fact I was tired of them by the time I finished Half-Life 2, which is why I never bought Episode 1. Damn that guy who gave it to me for nothing!

And let me guess.. you played it on easy?

If you accidently oversteer or spin then you will overheat your tyres. Then its hard to get the temperature back down to optimal (green). You can see how much the tyres are worn by the thickness of the pad on the F9 screen.

You should use R1s with high pressure because they have more grip than R2.

Quote from Mille Sabords :/OT Good news for you, apparently it's back (Silver - TBO). Check the CTRA section I think it was reintroduced last week or so.

<http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=32046> more OT... How do you post a link that works? sorry for noob question

Oh nice. Thanks for the heads up. Thats a step in the right direction, but they still have that silly GT2 class .

It depends on where I start, but I usually hug the inside or go around the outside. CTRA1 is a noob lag server and in my experience a lot more crashes on T1 there than on other servers. When you are braking for T1, don't suddenly slam on the brakes, be smooth.

CTRA sucks since they got rid of TBOs for silver licence drivers, so I don't race there any more.

What the hell are you guys on about.

TV presenters never wear racing suits when reviewing a car, be it on Top Gear or Fifth Gear. Have you ever seen Clarkson or Hammond wear a racing suit when reviewing a car? No...

And when Clarkson said that Fifth Gear burnt down Top Gear, you realise that was a (lame) joke right?

Jason Plato and Tiff Needell are my favourite car show TV presenters because they can actaully drive. Clarkson can't drive for shit.

Quote from bbman :They let somebody drive the FOX @ FE Club? Brave...

QFT. They should have chosen a better combo

Last time I raced the FOX at FE club online people were crashing everywhere, and I got caught out a few times too! Just one wheel on the grass and you're in the wall, or if you take the chicane wrong you end up on your roof.

I love the way that LFS is developed. Its so nice to have everything bug free. If modding was allowed, it would have to be offline only for quality control reasons.
