I don't play on cruise servers (they are boreing), but from my brief experience with them, the only ones worth driving on is the http://city-driving.co.uk/ ones "[TC] city driving Kyoto" or something. You don't lose money by pitting without parking first. SO much better.

Don't even ask how this happened ... I was on cold tyres and forgot how little grip the XRT has after driving the GTRs

The second one was not on purpose! It was my first time driving the XFR on AS2

I follow the WRC ('aqcuired' from the internet). And the MotoGP (I know it's not cars, but its still very good racing).

F1 is BOREING imo.

The only thing I would ever want is a proper Top Gear test track. It would be really fun to compare times with the XFG with the actual times from The Stig. Other than that I don't really care for mods.

Quote from hiroshima guy :Oh hi you're another new member here I see. What's a RL by the way? AWD eats up tires real quick on dry track yeah. See whether how much torque you put in the front/rear tyres. (I don't mean I'm a cracker that's why I know. It's my friend who told me that.)

And :woohoo: my 280th post here since registering here

RL = Real Life

Yes you are right. AWD cars certainly do eat tyres. This is one of the reasons why I prefer the XRT over the RB4. I feel in much more control with the XRT, it steers a lot more neutral. I find that in LFS You don't have to use as much lock with RWD cars as you do with Front wheel drive cars.

To the OP: Just use RACE_S for now. It's a good setup for learning. You could try some setups from Setupfield http://setupfield.teaminferno.hu/ but they tend to be harder to drive or 'on the edge'. Just don't use 'hard track' that setup sucks! I can get very close to my PB (personal best) with RACE_S, but 'hard track' is much much slower.

Maybe you could post a replay and we can see where you are going wrong. I remember when I first took the XRT for a spin I was totally out of control! Maybe you should drive the XRG for a bit and get the feeling of RWD cars without so much power.

Have fun!

Quote from de Souza :just saw someone in CTRA some time ago, I was driving a XRG and he was in XFG.. he *easily* passed me at a straight while I was near top speed...

forgot to save the replay though

The CTRA servers run high wind so drafting makes a big difference. He could have drafted you when you were running into a head on wind, so he would have got a massive boost because he wasn't fighting the wind like you were.

I toot at someone if they wreck me (and I'm raging a bit) or if they make a really dangerous block at the last minute/mid turn.

No, the horn is a nice feature, as is flashing your lights. Now if only the headlamps projected light that would be cool.
Fun with the LFS Physics engine

After playing around on the drag strip a bit I made a setup that makes the car into a spinning top.

Watch the replays!

I get the exact same crash when I add LFS to steam communities/games list. I had to remove it from steam to fix it.

Flatshifting is definatly faster. Before false starts were possible (ie perfect start every time) I tested this on the drag strip. all the cars were faster, the turbo ones there was a massive difference, but even the non turbo cars were definatly faster.

Quote from breadfan :LFS definetly needs something like this

I'm not sure if the downforce engine works properly when the car is upside down, but in theory you could drive a BF1 upsidedown on the roof with the downforce it creates.

Make us a map that has a tunnel Where we can overtake people on the roof!

I would be in for a traffic car, BUT 3pm EST is 7am Monday in New Zealand time !!!

also it might look kinda wierd with everyone wearing a helmet

I would go on them if you didn't have to drive around for 10 Zillion hours just to use an XFG

If I just want something relaxing and to just drive around with other people I would rather go on a drift server.

1) I don't think so

2) Well some tracks are easier to drive with a mouse than others. I can do quite good on blackwood (1:08.6) but on Aston club I suck! (1:02.0). This is because on blackwood you only have to be on or off the throttle, but on Aston you have to feather it (not possible with mouse)

So they wanted to ban you? Were you much faster than everyone else or something?

Quote from 1995CobraR :What's so bad about this whole thing?? I meen look at the FD RX-7

1.3L 255hp. Look at that. Smaller output then the XFG but alot more HP.

But thats a wankel rotary

Quote from Blackout :I wish they changed that. It's a bit too amazing.

It's not that bad. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII FQ400 produces 400 hp from a 2.0L engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M ... _Evolution#Evolution_VIII

Yeah I always thought that the 0-60mph / 0-100km/h times were very fast for these road cars. They do have racing tyres.. but still..
