Well after looking at your DXDIAG file...
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1022MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce 7900 GS
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
You seem pretty well set. The only bottle neck would be the processor, you could probably just put the core 2 onto your current motherboard, buy another gig of RAM and be fine.

Well you can do the same on the XFG with it setup with an open diff, I think it's just because the way LFS emulates suspension physics, taking auto-x style corners takes ALOT of weight off the inside front wheel (show forces to get what I mean) So really, I don't think it has anything to do with the cars power.

On public roads I've driven a Nissan 240zx. It was late, the 2 lane highway was empty, we took a quick top speed run, barely made it past 190kph, brought it back down to highway speeds. As a pasenger, I've pushed into the 240kph zone in my cousins old Supra, again, late at night, 4 lane highway empty, dry conditions, sticky fat ruber. There was about 1,500rpm left in sixth before we would hit the safe redline, but I was more then satisfied. When I'm older I want to take a nice CBR 1000 onto a runway, or posibly a test track and just top it out.

Well my modem is syncing at 5056KB/800KB...so asuming the 20% loss, I should look at 4000/640, my download speeds seem up to par, but my upload falls short of what my modem is saying, although with my old modem I had 4416/900 sync, and it showed, so there must be a way to free up some upload speeds.

I run a similar setup. Intel Celeron 2.2ghz, 256MB (32 stole for intergrated GPU) DDR 266mhz RAM, and a 40Gb IDE harddrive. I managed to get 125mhz x 22 for a clock speed of 2750mhz (2.7Ghz) This was all on stock voltage, stock cooling, and my load temps sneak up to the mid 50 line and stay there. Stability has been checked, and passes in my books. So please don't lose hope on your CPU...
First, make sure you have decent case cooling, get all the dusties out of there.
Second, get familiar with your BIOS, I bet it will have limited options, like mine did.
Third, as you bump up the FSB check the CPU and RAM for stability, and over heating.
Good luck with your overclock, and please post your results when you're done.

Well I Haven't browsed the forums in a long time, and it feels good to be back. I recently moved, and just got my computer setup. I upgraded my modem and just got this configured, and now I need the opinions of other techs around here. For being 350miles away, am I getting a good ping? And do you think my upload speeds are capped via ISP, or is this something on my end thats yielding slower upload rates then I would like? The speed test shown is after numerous tests to make sure of consistancy. Thoughts?

P.S. I'm paying $40~ a month for advertised 4mbit service.

Really loved the video, amazing work. I like the quick captions with arrows that aren't really meant to be read. Makes it look hi-tech The quality is stunning and no problems playing it on my computer (WMP, Celeron @2.2ghz, 256MB DDR, intergrated graphics) And why does everybody hate on MegaUpload? I downloaded it in about 4 minutes, and it was straight forward. Overall 9.5/10.

Here in Canada you can get your G1 at 16. That gives you ability to drive insured vehicles with a fully licensed driver (Person with G2 for four years)

After a year of your G1 you can apply for your G2 test and once passing the written and driving test, you are granted a G2 license, with hardly any restrictions, after four years you are automatically granted a full G, no limits at all.
PS. This is Ontario, I'm not sure about other provinces.

I loved watching the video. The lack of AA and some small stutters didn't bug me one bit. The angles you got are really nice, and the song fits great. One thing though, at the start, the car starts a slow motion roll, then in the next camera change it's back to a stop and does a hard spinning start. Great video though 8.5/10.

I have raced your servers a couple times. I really enjoy them Clean, fast racing. Friendly people. And a really nice setup (average ping, LFSLapper etc...)

Oye! Be nice, I've been there before. I'm saying this is my best LFS experiance meaning Live For Speed, not Lust Filled Sex. And read your sig, kind of hypocritical?

I hate how people use the statement "Oh, how do you know your computer isn't infected with a whole bunch of stuff if you don't scan" Simple answer, if you KNOW computers, and KNOW what your doing, and something manages to get onto your computer, you will notice it.

For instance, if my computer is being a little sluggish (I only have one 256MB ram chip installed) I open up the process window of Task Manager, so if something was there I would see it. I'm familer with my startup list, as is any computer geek. I know sketchy windows folders from legit ones. But if I wasn't the only one using this computer. I would throw on some AVG Free just incase.

I was browsing for a good server me and my friend could go on. And I came across one and they were qualifying, so we joined. Then when the race started I found out it was 26 laps. I thought it would suck untill I realized this would be my longest LFS race. So I stuck with it, cars in my way, people chatting to me and having to answer, figuring out when to pit. I ran a low 1:26 best, but I thought I was pretty consistant. I'll upload the replay for whoever is really bored and needs something to do. The race was also a good way to test out my fresh overclock bar. And my temps touched 50, then came back down to a constant 48. I feel really good about my best overclock, the fact that I finished a 26 lap race, AND set a non hotlapped PB for that car/track. Happy racing

PS I think the main reason I'm posting this is the fact I stuck with over 12 laps alone, and never left.

I just use Windows XP SP2 firewall on my connections, thats it. I don't get problems. Like meantioned, if you know how to use a computer, and suft the internet properly, you don't need all that crap. Using Ares for my P2P and Firefox for my browsing probably helps alot too. God I love my simple Celeron.

Get in your car (if you have a licence) and go for a cruise, think about things. Ponder why you enjoy racing, and why you don't. Kick it sideways when nobodys around (only kidding, be safe on public roads) I find watching old motorsports footage helps. Any fast paced videos work well for me.

Hmm...okay, thats decent. Do you have any case fans installed and is the case properly cleaned out and ventilated? (It's best to start overclocking with a clean computer)

Open up something like Everest and give us the goods (CPU specs, GFX specs, Mobo specs, RAM specs) Also, take a look at the sensors and see if your CPU is at a decent tempurature, if it is, then overclocking will have better potential.

I would actually like to see the demo go on a diet, get rid of the XRT maybe? Or perhaps ditch the reverse tracks? Maybe keep content and throw a 60minute trial on it? Who's with me?

Quote from Woz :Can we also have a fake turbo sound on cars that dont have it, just like the rice boys.

I am all for supercharger whine when we get a car with one, otherwise pointless, just like the fake turbo sound boxes.

They have those things!!! *Rushes off to buy one for a 1995 Toyota Corolla*
