Well after reviewing the thread, and doing some reading. You make a lot of good points, I never really thought as the XRT as a straight up "road" car, it seems to handle too well, and just perform too well. It really seems like its the actually modeling of the turbo, like all you have said earlier. Iirc, I could rev the XRT to 8~ grand and still not have boost pressure, and taking off smoothly (no wheel spin) the turbo won't get full boost untill high up in first, which is wayy to long for a small turbo on a proper exhaust. 12psi isn't even asking much really...

Well on BL1, I can usually pull low 1:26 to mid 1:25, it just depends on my mood, and the time of day, and tyre temps. I can manage decent first splits (28.5-28.8) but once I hit the second spilt im a minute flat or a couple tenths faster, and then I'd finish my lap at the mid 1:25, mostly 1:26 near dead on. What should my splits look like? I know the setup is good for faster (friend of mine managed high 1:23's on his computer with his momo on this set) My driving is decent I suppose, but if I had good splits to aim for then I could review my replays and find my mistakes easier.
~Bryan~
PS...heres the set if anybody wants it. I find it slightly over-steery, but only slightly. Any improvements on it are welcome.
^I could pwn you right now but I'm not going to. The guy got banned, so I doubt theres much point to this thread.

I see VTiRoj beat me to it, but went lightly
Wow...it may be because I'm really high right now...but I completely agree. Letting the reader know the light on the dash (later found to be ABS) was lit-up. It doesn't bring the surprise that the reader should feel when they crash.
I just wrote something right now, about my feeling about WOT (yes, wide open throttle, the actual word we use) I think it's pretty cool, but again, I'm fried.
I'll have a look at your stories, and come back with some ideas to continue them. I don't think I left my dialog boring, or are you talking about the actual formating of the piece? If so, I did correct it before handing it in, the dialog is properly spaced and formated. I was just in too big of a rush to do it with that 'draft'

The XRT is usually good for 225kph on the blackwood straight (asuming you get a good entry) Whats with the fad to flip the car upside down and watch the speedo go? Seems pretty lame if you ask me...
~Bryan~
Yeah I'd say the 76. The GTA series arn't exactly the most efficient games for PC. Just FYI the 7600 will also handle alot of popular fps and racing games at 1024x768 resolution.
~Bryan~
7300 GT would be an improvement, a 7600GS would be a better choice though. 256MB is fine for any resolution up to 1600x1200 really...What games do you plan on running, and at what res? There is some stuff from ATi that might be worth looking at.
~Bryan~
Monkey Mike, I understand what you were saying. That in particular bugged me a little because I had to make a choice of going full-out automotive language, or keep it relatively simple for the normies I really should have spent more time figuring out that situation.
Lateralus, I appreciate you commenting on my grammatical inaccuracies. Although I was aware of most of my mistakes and my layout, I didn't change any of it until today, we got time in class to do any changes, and I re-worked and merged a few paragraphs. Like I said I'm my first post I honestly had nothing down, so last night I pitched something together in a matter of a couple hours.
~Bryan~
Thanks for the comment. I'm actually not even a driver, have no license, never been behind the wheel on a public road, never even been in a car accident. So if my examples or descriptions are whack, feel free to let me know

Well I had a 'short' story due for English class today. I honestly had nothing down, so last night I pitched something together in a matter of a couple hours. The attached is rather raw, not really edited. The 'final' copy it at school but I might grab it later. Feel free to leave comments and/or critiques. This was a pretty weak attempt, and I was limited by word-count (no less then 800, no more then 1,200) even though I think this one hits almost 1,500. It was un-planned, just written, I hope you guys enjoy.
~Bryan~
EDIT: My 420'th post...errr, brb, I got some stuff to do
I'd buy more damn pot. Then a license, then a mini-fridge, then probably a bag of pot. After a few days I would throw the rest into the bank, invest it towards my education.
But of course pull out the rest of the money I need to finish paying for my Supra project (found a '91 MA70, no engine, just the car to drop a 1JZ into)

Obviously I knew the XRT wasn't a WRC car, I'm just saying it was watching WRC that put anti-lag into my head. A smaller turbo for the XRT? You don't need a big turbo to get 12psi...A properly tuned turbo-setup shouldn't have 'bad' lag like the XRT has.
~Bryan~
Well I was watching some WRC videos today and it got me thinking, anti-lag on those scuubys is rather helpful. Think that would help the XRT? It's obvious it's based on a slightyl BPU'd plain sports car. Anti-lag if getting serious would be an idea IRL. It would help the gawd-awful spooling time of the turbo charger, think they may need to rework that a little...
A little more 'eye candy' idea would be to have the exhaust bend and compress when bottoming out (seeing as the exhaust on all the cars, except the S2 slick cars?) thus changing the exhaust note.
~Bryan~
For PSU, a decent 500watt will do. But if it's a good brand-name supply, then a 450 would work fine. As for heatsinks, I say go with the Arctic Cooler Freezer 7, it makes up for it's whack-ass name, lives up to it too. That will handle your E6300 for some voltage bumping, and some higghhhh clocks.
~Bryan~
That memory tester might not be able to pickup the problem. If you can get your system to run Memtest that would be ideal. What setup do you have for ram? Just the 1gig stick? Or do you have more installed? It could be a bad timing setup, I've seen some Value Ram sticks get in and auto-set to 3-3-3-9-1 at 1.8volts at 667mhz, pshhh...like thats happening.
~Bryan~
TBH I don't see a reason to update your current rig with a Quad (unless you DO need the four cores for rendering and INTENCE video editing) Your e6600 running at 3ghz is more then enough to deal with anything. It won't really be sensible to go Quad yet.
~Bryan~
My friend just bought an '84 RX-7 actually. The rear rotor is gone, but he sent the whole engine out for a rebuild and bridgeporting So that will be fun as a bat out of hell when it gets back. The interior and body is in flawless condition. As for old PC's. I have a shitty 5 year old Celeron backed by 16MB intergrated graphics, I know how you feel If my gay-ass parents didn't have me paying rent I might be able to build up a decent Core 2. But congrats on the build, and good luck with that 7, looks like a beauty.
~Bryan~
The 6600 GT is a great budget card.Thats about all there is to it. They have performance, but considering how old the card is it just won't keep up with next gen or some of this gen's games.
