Quote from mcintyrej :Okay, sorry for being a bit....Can't think of a word. Crap?

I'll keep it in mind that you've got an S2, next time I try to flame someone i've never seen.

Naww your nice What's your favourite combo? Someday when I'm used to the S2 content we should have a nice race, in the spirit of fun

Are YOU big enough?

Well I was going through my hard drive, deleting old shit, trying to make room, and just general cleaning. I came across my LFS installs and realized just how small of a game LFS really is. The installer is only 120MB iirc, and once unpacked and used (skins, layouts, textures, replays) it doesn't get too big. Mine only weighed in at 381MB! Anybody dare set the bar higher?

Thanks Jakg for saving my ass everywhere, if only I had a sig then I could explain teh whatnots. Takumi, because of 5 flaming bannanas, you owe me 5 laps of the oval, in the painfully slow UF1, get driving

Thanks so much Niko. Straight away I realized my main problem, TOO MUCH THROTLE. Could you perhaps post the setup you were using? After test driving your replay I've become quite fond of it.

And yes, I have a license, but prefer to post with my demo account.

@ Jakg, I can never wrap my head around the LX6, it's high on the bong water or something, it just cant corner without it wanting to slide. Tis fun, but pain the in the ass when wanting to lay down fast lap times.

Yeah, pitstops definitly need to be worked on before S3, or even S2 final if posible. I find it hard to believe that an invisible pitcrew can change four tires, fix suspension damage, and refuel in 30 seconds

Drifting the FZ5?

I've seen it done. Any particular tricks? I find it to be a VERY over-powered, under-steery car. Is it just because I use keyboard, or the fact I can't drive it to save my life? Anytime I get a few good drifts going the tires either roast quick, or it will lose itself and spin out. Anybody care to post a replay I can take a look at and learn from?

^Yeah dude, thats why you don't drink the bong water

As for the layout, fun stuff, I even used it as a course for the MRT!

Wow that looks amazing, I'll get right on downloading that. What sound file do you use for the XRT? It sounds nice.

Yeah, indeed. I've found the LFS forum to be alot more comfortable and welcoming then any other online comunity I've been to. Only thing I can say puts shame to LFS is the way the licensed people treat demo users. I had to go through that for a long while, definitly not cool.

On topic: Compared to my current monitor (17" CRT @ 1024x768 @ 85hz) would say a 20" TFT @ 60hz feel any better on the eyes? I notice late at night (right now for instance) I either have to keep the room REALLY bright, which isn't always an option, or face the burns I get after about 20 minutes and take a break.

Damn you guys make biking look un-cool I wish I had the cash for a bike. I was always the guy on the crappy Canadian Tire bike (frame stress cracked a few times, bent, forks locked up) But as soon as I hoped on any of my friends true mountain bikes (2006 Norco Ryde, 2004 Specialized P2) I could pwn their asses, it was classic

Xaid0n, you seem to post a lot in this thread. I noticed by your avatar, Colin McRae at the X-Games, right before he flips it, saves it, and comes a close second. I have the picture high-res as my desktop background at the moment Rest in peace Colin, you really were something else.

I don't personally understand the language of eyesight, and all that negative crap. I go in to pickup my glasses Tuesday (they had to order the frames I wanted) And I'll quiz them up then about my 'stats'. I just know that having one eye much weaker will cause problems with depth perception, correct?

Nahhh I use keyboard and mouse, the BF1 and FO8 are just too twitchy for me, I even have problems with the FZR. I noticed after driving around Westhill for a while, the FOX is REALLY easy to correct, if the back end slips out you can easily counter-steer it, or drift the rest of the corner practicly, don't think thats supposed to happen

Ohhh, sweet, gentlefoot's site...been meaning to check that out, thanks for reminding me, cheers. And yes I've been playing with other cars in LFS, that damn hatchback with slicks thats high on vtec is whack, it can't even hook up down low. I'm still favouring the XRT/RB4/FXO combo, or the XRR/FOX/FZR slicked cars.

Help me setup the FOX

Well I just got S2 as some of you may know by now (if not, check my thread in the general LFS area) and I've become quite fond of the FOX, tis a beast when unleashed. I've been racing it on the Kyoto circuits, and I'm blown away, it's just soo much fun (thanks to the sound packs for making it sound better) Any general tips about what to do with the given setup? (Race_S) to make it a little 'softer' and forgiving, as I'm just starting to use it, and need to get used to the car before I can focus on setting it up for speed.

Ever find it weird how you never know your eyes are bad, untill you look through proper glasses, it blew me away the first time, it took me a year of squinting before I realized my eye sight should be stronger.

By the way, Blas89, loving the avatar! And Mazz, quiting pot would be like taking slow-mo out of The Matrix, NOTHING'S TRIPPY!

Mongoose are sketchy at best. I find their wheel bearings just can't keep up. The rims (unless branded) seem to always need adjusting to keep a true alignment. As for the crank assembly, same issue, the bearings crack and shatter, resulting in grinding, and friction. If it's only going to be used lightly then go for it, but if your going park riding, and dirt jumping, invest

Quote from the_angry_angel :And those not getting any

Hopefully there will be some sort of advance in sight therapy for you dropin_biking Personally I wear glasses, and have done for about 3 years now. The only reason is that using a computer so much as caused a detrimental effect on my longer range sight

Funny, how thats pretty much what my optometrist told me. First thing he asked was if I used computers a lot, and what monitor I have and such.

Going Blind...
dropin_biking

Well I had an appointment with my optometrist today, first since I got my glasses three years ago. They basically told me that my right eye will probably keep getting worse as the years go by, even with glasses. I'm pretty bummed, knowing that I have one eye with common blur, and one eye that is horrible, and won't get any better. Pretty paranoid about this haunting me years down the road...

To keep this from being a rant, I ask, who here has glasses, and if so, how bad is your eyesight?

Hundreds of shit, eh? Better get a bucket and mop I've been running no firewall or antivirus for a little over 2 years on this copy of XP, and the only things that have sprouted up were my own fault by not verifying sketchy exes, but i caught them before they hardly got a chance to open.

Ahh sorry for the mixup boys. I can either stick with this acount, or use the stupid 'Irish Man' acount, and seeing as I'm already in the comunity as a demo user I'd keep it with S2. My status will stay demo (and I get ripped off an 'effing avater, I'm PISSED) But yeah, I did mean the FXR, silly mistake. I've become fond of the Fern Bay course
