Does anybody know the max resolution that LFS will load in terms of DDS files.

The ability for grass to be chewed up would be nice (Eg. spinning on the grass and have the tire walls rip into the grass, and when u hamer the throtle to get back on the track have it rip divits into the grass) Also if you took a turn wide, and had the one side of the car hit the grass, show the packed spots that the wheels made on the grass. Those are the two things I would like to see in S3 in terms of off-track.

I thought PSU meant power suply, but I didn't want to look like a dumbass. I have a 550watt ATX power suply. I bought it when I got a new cooling system for my computer. This isn't a permanent solution though. I'm getting a whole new gaming system in the summer. So will the 6000GT still give me gaming power for more intencive programs IE Carbon, Half-Life, Doom 3?

I don't think my CPU will hold me back. I just posted the stock specs. It's overclocked to like 3098mhz. And PSU?

Alright before I start asking questions I'll give you an idea of what I have to work with.

Asus p4s533 mobo (Supports AGP, PCI, PCI-E)
Intel Celeron 2.6ghz processer socket 478.
256MB DDR RAM - PC2100 (266mhz)
Intergrated SiS 32MB AGP Graphics card (166mhz core)
And teh Viewsonic 21" Flatpanel

I need more fps. I play Live For Speed, GTR, GTR2, San Andreas, Carbon, Most Wanted, BF2. I don't need crazy ass 1600x1200 maxed to the sh*t graphics. But I like to be able to play med-high graphics (Something like 1280x1024, a little AA and AF. Around 40 or 50 fps)

I KNOW I need RAM upgrades, I'm going to go with a 1gig stick of PC8000 DDR. But I'm stuck on graphics cards, AGP, PCI, PCI-E? I don't want to spend a shit load. and I don't need overkill 3 digit fps maxed right out. Just something that I can get 40-50fps with fairly nice graphics. Incase it might help I live in Ontario and have about $250cad for a graphics card.
Thanks in advance...

Oh and I am quite good with overclocking, so maybe pointing me to something that has potential.

Why not just fire up Windows Media player and load the soundtrack so you can listen to it?

I have test patch 30 and I did some benchmarking and I had an over-all 12fps increase.
System Specs:
Intel Celeron 2.2ghz (Overclocked to 2.5ghz)
Asus PSX-Series motherboard
256MB SD-RAM
SiS 651 32MB Graphics card
SoundMax audio card
Windows XP SP2 with latest updates

With all graphics cranked I sit about 50 fps alone, and with 1-6 other racers I get about 30, and up to 12 racers I sit in the 20's. (That's only when all the racers are bunched around T1)

Love the new patch. This was the first test patch I installed so everything is new. I love the new track selection layout. The menus are easier to manage. Also I like the clock option so it's easy to check the time. But the number one thing I like about this patch is I ran a FRAPS benchmark on all the tracks and all the cars with S2, and with patch U30 I did the same benchmarking and it showed an average of 12fps increase.

Thumbs up on a job well done. Can't wait for S3.

Eh, Oval racing is okay. I'm not a huge fan of it. It looks boring, but then again I only had one chance to race the oval and that was in an FO8, for now I have to be stuck with the crappy cars.

Quote from Bean0 :Its been asked a few times before, have a search about. Smile

Aye yes I will make sure to search next time, sorry for that. I guess I just wanted to make this thread to say hi more than anythingBig grin
Quote from tristancliffe :The XR cars bear a lot of resemblance to Mitsubishi Starions, whilst the XF is said to be a bit of a punto-other hatcback hybrid.

But they aren't real cars, they just have styling or performance cues from them, so direct comparisons are impossible.

I hope LFS doesn't get too carried away with adding real cars, as then people will just moan about how his car isn't as prone to lift off oversteer, or that the petrol tank can take more fuel, or... Some people seem shallow enough to need real cars and tracks to enjoy it. Poor them.

I know these cars arn't replicas, I was just curious as to what the LFS team based them on. I like the cars in the game now, and it would be a little stupid go to racing around in a Toyoya Colora, or a Dodge mini van.

Quick Question

Hey everybody, this is my first thread here, and second (me thinks) post. I'm NOT an LFS noob, I have been racing demo for almost a year now. I like racing Rally-X and on a good day I can get high 11's. I have played S2 and after running 58.5 at blackwood with the BMW I REALLY want the game, its amazing. So I just have to say great job with the game, its so detailed and realistic. Right now I play with just my XP Home, 2.2ghz, 224mb-RAM, 32mb SiS graphics card, meh, it does the job. I usually putt along around 35fps with the graphics maxed (no AA) I use a REALLY old and REALLY moded Formula T1 racing wheel.

Back to my question, what cars do the XF-Gti, XR-GT, and XR GT Turbo represent? Which cars are they based around?
