I've always wanted to visit Holland, is the weed good? Or would I have to bring my own?

On topic: There is alot of misconception between 'sliding' and 'drifting' I think the biggest difference is the intention. If you throw your Scooby sideways for example, you're drifting. But if your like tristancliffe, going for a hairpin a little hot, and having the back end come out on you, thats simply a slide, and was corrected quickly.

Sorry to bump an extremely old thread, but I was looking over my interm-report last night and realized I got a 46% on that story. I'm rather pissed off about it, TBH. I know it had a few grammatical errors but still! Anybody think this is fair for grade 10? I won't really be able to 'take it up' with my teacher untill tuesday

Wow...I came to this thread to read up on drifting the Formula cars, then I run into this. Get over eachother, can't we all be friends? Why don't you all just move to Canada, and we can live in peace (Just kidding, I love Europe. Let's please just get this back on topic)

Hmm, it's a pretty decent setup. But I can't say too much because I can hardly drive smooth with keyboard alone, I need my mouse X axis to steer. I was managing low 26's-high 25's after a few laps, feels like a comfortable set, not too easy on tires though.

I rather like that idea, TBH. It would help alot of the n00bs, especially once they get a brain and can drive decently. Bringing back the point system FTW!

Iirc LFSTweak is pretty simple to update for newer versions of the LFS.exe file, I don't see why the programmers here don't just do it quick, maybe it's because we will be getting a big patch soon?
~Bryan~
I dunno about longer...it already fits a 1/4 mile quite nicely. Some realistic barriers, starting, tree-lights, and such, would be awesome Right now it's a pretty pathetic drag strip.

Yeah dudes Fern is getting a little old, still quite fun though! I would personally like to see a little more thought put into the 'rallycross' aspect of this game, perhaps rally specific cars...
~Bryan~
When drifting, the tires cross over the 'max grip' threshold and don't flex as much. For instance, if you were taking a corner really hard the outer tires would be forced longitudinal untill they pass their maximum grip level and they start to slide, the force against the sidewall isn't as great when the tire is bellow or above it's optimal grip level.
Excuse the lack of vocabulary, it's getting late and I just finished a load of homework, I hope you still get what I mean.
~Bryan~
Yeah I know what video your talking about, REALLY great footage. It shows just how much strain race cars get put through. You may believe that tyre flex is a little much, but usually the setup has unrealistic tyre pressure, especially on road cars.

^Can I buy some pot from you Jakg? As for the sounds, they are already much better then they were before Patch V2, but still pretty plain. Iirc the sound engine is fairly primative ATM.

I have a PC that hardly runs LFS (to the point where it actually puts me off it sometimes) But I still come to the forum because I learn alot about RL racing techniques, and strategies. Because of the maturity, and knowledge of the LFS Forum members, you can learn a lot of your willing to read. Anything from racing manors, to rules, tips, and stories.
~Bryan~
Pretty cool idea, made me think of the Top Gear test track. All the layout gurus should put their heads together and make an 'official' LFS Test Track, like something we can compare times on around the whole forum.
~Bryan~
PS: Looks like a fun layout, will try it after dinner...
EDIT: Woah, didn't see the original post date, quite teh bump
Could work, may not. As for putting it in sigs, only licensed accounts get sigs (damn I feel I'm always complaining about that) But TBH I don't think a whole lot of people would use it. On the overclock forum it makes sense because it is a computer forum, this is a racing sim forum, so -1 from me.
