I really do agree that any server using a S1 track/car combo should show up on the S1 server list. I imagine it would be rather simple...

Wow, rest in peace. I cannot believe how many tragities we have had in the motorsports world recently. This needs to stop

Dual-core processors, dedicated graphics, 2gigs of RAM, few hundred gigs of storage, and big 17" displays. I think those are some of your best choices from those sites. But I'll tell you now, I'm no laptop expert, I'm a desktop guy.

^You'd be surprised how many people are looking forward to AI updates. Think of those on dial-up, or a unreliable connection. I personally would LOVE an AI update, because I will soon be on 36k dialup that I KNOW won't be able to handle LFS online. Plus if we had better AI, people could train more offline, so when they come online they are comfortable with their mirrors, and having cars on their ass.

Harjun please remove that quote from your signature, I'm fairly certain the mods and developers don't like the talk of 'cracking' posted around for every little demo kid to see.

Check out www.hardware.info if you need certain information about computer components.

Ahh Happy Birthday Scawen! Thank's for dedicating yourself to such an amazing game. Best of wishes from Canada, and all of us here hope you had a great day with family and friends.

Yes, wise zeugnimod is right. Although its the custom that new cars and tracks come with a 'stage' update. Although anything could happen to LFS after S2 goes final. We could get a whole new physics update, amazing weather conditions, or S3 might not happen. We're all one growing family, nothing is very "strict" The Dev's never rush themselves, and always do a thourough job, and you must remember, they do have lives AFK.

Although rolling up in a Supra in LFS would be freaking awesome

Sweet man that sounds awesome The R154 is a GREAT tranny, as long as you keep it mantained. They can handle quite a bit of power, plus make a great matchup for a clutch upgrade. "My" slightly worn one in the '92 has a twin-disk carbon clutch infront of it, makes street driving a little more interesting

As for LFS, it really is an amazing game. All the tracks are very unique, but symbolize different 'areas'. You might enjoy Fern Bay if you end up getting S2, it's a very happy bright area, with lots of fun combos. Get S2 as soon as you can, you won't regret it. I used to play the Grand Turismo and GTR series games, and (imo) LFS blows them out of the water.

^But you have to agree autos are MUCH better if your multi-tasking behind the wheel. I find if I'm driving auto, I'm more free to roll a joint or something...

^That's pretty reasonable. I've passed traffic on my bike before, it all depends on the bike you have, your experience, and a good road. I remember being on a few roads that just twist and turn all the way down. I would pass cars on the shoulder, flying past them through the corners, and getting away on the straights. The great life of teenagers...

Wellllll, It could be a 2JZ-GE (naturally aspirated) with a turbo swap (hence the -t added) It's sometimes done when a good GTE engine or platform can't be found. It only takes a little bit of tweaking to make a GE engine accept a turbo.

Hm...you know you're a Supra freak when you have that in memory, and your 15

Quote from squidhead :Let's just say... I should have payed more attention to what's going on on the road, instead of "how cool I look in my old Japanese coupe that nobody normal sees as a very special car"
anyway, lost control, skid off the road, but Im lucky, since the tree has softened my stop...kinda
(I got a reputation of a destroyer of sports cars...first the E30 then this, then it was the E36...that's exactly why I now bought a Mazda 6 with a 2.0, at least it's slow, it was either this or a TVR...and well...I didn't want to die tomorrow)

Ahh that's tragic They really are amazing cars, with very subtle looks.

To be fair it's not exactly a HARD car to crash. I remember when I was learning to drive, my right food discovered the world of boost, and the back end kicked out real quick, glad I was in a parking lot. I must say Toyota really did the right thing when making those 1JZ's. 2.5 litres across 6 cylinders, perfect balance of displacement/size/weight. Add the very well done twin-turbo setup, and you have a potent engine ready for some bolt-ons, and a bottom end thats good for some HIGH numbers.

^Uh oh...

Did 'lil Squid make a 1JZ go boom? Or was it the entire car that got raped?

Well as long as the CRT can do a decent refresh rate I say go for it...
60hz = PAIN!!! Usually after 5 or 10 minutes my eyes start to water, regardless of lighting
75hz = Little better, still it's rather anoying, and I can notice flicker
85hz = I've never had much of a problem with it, it's a very soft, easy to cope with setting.

WELCOME!!!
Good to see another Supra owner on the fourm. I'm waiting to put a '92 into my name when I get my license, it had a 1JZ swap, with a few goodies added. Truly fun cars, eh?

Well to be fair, I've never like the Wizard necks from Ibanez

A year is PLENTY of time to learn ANYTHING. Just grab a decent tab, or handbook and start it off. It's a good thing that you've already been playing a few years (you'll have all the techniques down) Grab a good copy of the original song, slow it down and start learning it bit by bit.

I'd go for the Asus F3, just because of the graphics chip, and the processor. If your going to add another gig of RAM to it, thats even better

The board supports fsb up to 1333mhz officially (333mhz quad pumped) And will easily overclock past 1400mhz (400mhz quad pumped)
DDR2 RAM speed is also measured in mhz. DDR800 runs at 400mhz (Double Data Rate measures it at 800mhz, 400x2)
Running your RAM at 1066 (Double Data Rate making it 533mhz) would mean you have an FSB of 2132mhz (533mhz quad pumped)

So basically, a 1333mhz fsb chip only NEEDS 667mhz ram, but most peope opt for 800mhz or sometimes 1066mhz RAM (400, and 533 respecively) because they want to overclock their chips, but still keep a 1:1 memory/fsb ratio.

What specifically makes you swear IRL? Anytime I'm in a car, back-seat or front, I usually mutter to myself whenever somebody cuts us off, avoids using blinkers, or is just generally driving like a dumb-shit.

Speaking of which, I got the chance to roll up at school in my (not quite, it'll go under my name when I get my license) Supra. It sure as hell shut my friends up when they talk about "nice cars" It's not even that special, just a turbo-back 3.5" system, nearly stock 1JZ, a coil-over kit and shiny 17's wrapped in Toyo rubber...
