It's definitly not faulty hardware, bring down any OC's just for now, and I guess it worth checking GPU tempuratures. PS, mcintyrej, in your sig your missing a 0 in '36GB Raptor'

GPU is fine, CPU is decent, PSU is RUBBISH. New PSU first, that way you won't overload and fry something (true story, ask jakg, I'm sure he knows people its happened to as well) Then get another Gig of ram, preferably the same brand and speed of what you have now. Then a low end Core 2 Duo would be fine. Any of the Alendale cores that run the 800mhz fsb will be compatable with your motherboard. Start saving

EDIT: How does LFS run ATM? What settings do you use? I imagine you get some fairly high frames once the AI is spread out, or being online in a decent sized server. the 7900GS could eat LFS for breakfast, then go find something for lunch. So any frame drop would be your CPU, and I can't imagine it being too severe seeing as you have a Pentium D (2.8ghz, 800mhz fsb, 2x4mb L2 cache) they are DECENT chips, get spanked by the Core 2's but will hold its own against low end AMD dual cores.

+1 for seatbelts in the game
-1For making jokes about not wearing a seatbelt, two of my friends died from an idiot driver, and not wearing seatbelts.

You look just like a teacher at my highschool. Is that a freaking skull bong on your computer case? If so, much respect. I'm pretty high but man, you look straight up hippie. What kind of music you listen to man?

Wow Mafia 2. I remember when I first got Mafia wayy back in the day. Great game, I loved the story line. I hope this lives up to the Mafia name. The screens look promising.

Well yeah I'm not trying to sound like some know-it-all. I know I've only been on this earth 15 years, less then half of my parents, and the other adults around me. But I know a lot about what life was like back in the days. Kids get away with so much these days. They don't have to get jobs, their parents just let them float on air all the way through school, support their every need without them working for it. It's ridiculous! All this new generation 'gotta wear the brand name' crap is pretty anoying too. So is the "your only accepted if your good looking" I can't wait for these clueless teenagers to get too far in with their weekend partying and end up in the hospital, or get out of highschool and crumble into the hands of society[/rant]
Sorry 'bout that. I just woke up, had a rough sleep. Had to vent somehow, peace.

Yeahh man sometimes it's nice to kick back the hippie way. I just got back from a session at my friends place, we threw on a live Hendrix CD and jammed on acoustic for hours, talking about how crazy life has gotten and what the hell happened to this generation of kids. As for the comment about my hair not being that long, it sits down my back now, and it's long compared to anything around Ontario, if I had more time it would be longer but I only started when my teenage years kicked in.

Wow BBT you are my freaking idol. You are so me in 20 years. I'll get a kickass beard thing going, long ass straight hair, probably lay of the Mary-Jane. PM me and I'll show you my uhh...'show piece'...my uh, flower vase...
~Bryan~
EDIT: There is a picture of my hair a couple months ago at our high school Caf Jam, the picture is a little weird but you get the idea how long my hair is...

Wow man thats so cool to hear that you did that. My one friend Will had hair like that, it was getting hard to maintain for him so he said screw it, and raised money around the school for him to shave it and give it to cancer research (everybody hated his hair) It was a cool thing, I was thinking of doing that, but I love my hair too damn much.

^Haha no responsibility FTW!!! But nahh I live with my parents (Not the no-life 20 year olds) I'm only 15 and my hippie hair will be gone for good next week, I've had it for years and I gotta cut it for the Catholic school I'm going to this year. Anybody ever have to go through such a tragic thing like that?

When I'm bored I'll surf youtube, check out cool stuff on the net. Or chat on msn with people I hardly ever talk to or don't really know who they are. If I'm not allowed on the computer or one isn't available I'll probably go hit the bong and watch some cool movies, then come munch out a couple hours later.

Lately I've been feeling like I'm the only reefer tokin', long hair having, hippie talking teenager around my area. I was wondering if any of you guys know any cool hippie people? Seems like they are becoming a rare species these days haha Also, what are your opinions on the hippie lifestyle/way of life? All I've been hearing is that they are stupid free-loaders that don't contribute to society

A New GPU would improve LFS performance, and improve anything heavy on GFX cards. But your fps will be limited by your CPU now. So basically you can get a new GFX and suffer where the CPU is needed, but start gaining on things that rely on a good graphics card (alot of fps, racing games)

^Volt moding the PCB to allow higher overclocks, same deal as overclocking a CPU, more voltage = more overclocking room. Most stock GPU heatsinks can't handle heavy volt moding.

Not trying to be a bug, but it would be cool if you gave it to me. I don't have any specific reasons, other then I have no way to actually pay for the game, and my parents are dis-approving of me playing video games. I haven't been here too long so I can see why you wouldn't want to though.

Becky made a backfire mod, it's purely sound though. The game can't handle visual backfire from the exhaust in this stage. That is eye candy that will probably wait untill S3.

Haha it won't explode. But the monitor is probably near it's end. Don't be surprized if it just turns off and won't come back on, or if you start smelling something melt. If either happen just unplug it, and start shopping for a new LCD monitor.

Well if the current system runs fine then he should be okay. Core 2's draw less power then the PD 9x0, and the 8x0. And most boards that can run the PD's also supports Core 2. So it seems like all he needs to upgrade is the CPU, and throw on another stick of RAM. Then again, it would be nice to have full system specs of OP's current rig.
