It uses socket LGA775, and did your CPU not come with an Intel heatsink?

The E4400 is indeed beautiful, $200 canadian, and will do 3.2ghz on stock vcore. That seems rather harsh how the entire code would have to be re-done to take advantage of dual cores but I guess it's nothing major seeing how even entry level dual cores can run LFS so well. Hell, the 3ghz P4's at my school run LFS damn well. Gotta love the code for this game

What kind of work would be needed to make LFS use the Dual Core technology? A simple script edit, or a complete re-work? Thoughts?...

I'll admit that I too didn't catch the sarcasm of Victor. I didn't know exactly what he meant by game untill I read this thread......*walks off*

Is LFS Dual Core Friendly?

Now that the W17 test patch is out allowing 32 cars in a race, it got me paranoid. I run a Celeron that gets uber low FPS when AI's and cars are around. So this is where my question comes in. Does LFS take advantage of a dual core and would a E4400 with a 60% overclock get bogged down when behind 31 cars?

I believe that LFS is displayed as a tarmac racing sim. You have the fast GTR cars, the F1 car, and an amazing array of tracks. As the devs have mentioned numerous times, LFS is a RACING sim, not just a Hardtack racing sim. Currently there are Two Rally tracks, Fern Bay and Blackwood. Blackwood is loads of fun with the XRT, or any of the three cars for that matter.

Now to the point, I believe that LFS is shadowing the fact that it supplies racers with a fairly decent Rally experience. Sure it's not perfectly modeled but it feels good to me. There are scarce amounts of Rally servers/ leagues and I think its the fault of the way LFS is projected. Maybe for S3 there could be one or two (not trying to be a greedy bastard) Rally configurations, to help give rally racing more of an impact. Or even just giving Rally racing a bit of a hype so we can have some steady servers and leagues going on. TBH, i would pay the $55 on the spot if Rally racing was more involved and not just a shadow from the awesome tarmac experience.

Thats just my two cents, and I hope we can discuss this in a civilized manor

Socks. I want to get in the habit of shoes though. I think it will help the transition between LFS and real car. I can heel/toe easy with socks, but with bare feet i either pinch a toe, or stick to the pedals.

At OP: I don't understand why you get the problem of the back cutting loose. I find the XFG quite hard to get out, it just doesn't have enough power.

For keyboard and mouse users. I set sensitivity in XP, use .2 center steer reduction, up and down for gas and brake, LMB for gear up, RMB for gear down.

Right now I'm on a Dell Latititude D510 and it's some POS from the school. It has a Pentium M @ 1.6ghz, 32MB intergrated graphics controller, and 512MB DDR2 @ 533. I run LFS at 1024x768 (max res) at about 40-50fps alone, and about 30fps with a few AI in view. Hope that helped.

Got a few new pictures. They are from our concert a few weeks ago.

First pic is me (guitar) and Andrew running through a few of our songs just hours before the concert. Andrew decided to do some air guitaring for the camera.
Second pic is me ripping through some chords during our tone test about an hour before stage time.

When you play an AVI file it needs a certain 'codec' so it can read the file and decode it so it is viewable (Breif, alot more involved) So you need to get the codec, so that file can be played properly. My advice, download VLC Media player. It is a great program to watch movies and gives much better visual quality then WMP. Downloading that should fix your problem.

No, Manual shift (stick, standard, whatev) need a handbrake to stay parked, because they are parked in netruel, and will roll if wheels aren't locked. Automatic vehicles have them too, but arn't used as often, due to the fact that once the car is in park the tires cannot move.

PS... I was just keeping things simple for the O/P so he/she would understand what an E-Brake is

E-Brake, emergancy brake. Used on Standard transmition cars to lock car into position when parked. Used in drifting to lock up back tires to cause sliding. Pull lever, cable runs to the rear brakes locking them in place. Simple as that. Some new ones are electronic, but still do the same thing really.

Driving my cousins Supra makes me happy. It makes me feel so alive, and so free, and so relaxed.

Sleeping in. I love the feeling of your body sleeping as long as it wants, and waking itself up once it's fully rested.

Good hair days. I have long hair past my shoulders, so having a good hair day is the sign for a really good day to come.

And last but not least, hearing those three magic words from the girl who means the world to me Smile

Feel free to join in haha. It's only pretty much a two way because nobody else is giving opinions. And its boiling down to either dropping on a Core 2 (e4300, e6300) along with a Ge-Force 7*** or cheaping out with a Pentium D 915 (they still hit almost 4ghz) and going with a 320MB 8800 GTS. Yea...I think I know what I have to do...

I'd imagine it would cost more. Plus after reading the Ncix shipping policy its looking nice, I can pick every exact component, and they will put it together and test it. I can also leave the builder notes to do certian things. And for an extra $6 I can get them to double box it.
