The possiblities of exploiting rules and cheating are endless and you can't really monitor these so you'd need a bunch of honest people to play this which isn't always easy to find, but I like the idea very much!
I'd like to try it too but you're at the other end of the world
I like the idea, djgizmo68. You've got the cars totally mixed up mind you, I guess you meant XFG, XRG, XRT respectively.
Also, posting an estimate about the timetable would be nice. But bear in mind that the maximum number of connections to a demo server is 11.
Good luck with the organising, I'm sure you'll have many racers applying
If there was a more suitable car for the oval beside the FXR (which you can't see much, mind you I haven't looked for a while), I think I'd race more there. The BF1 and the F08 just... doesn't look right.
It's because this is a different genre. This isn't about quenching your thirst for blood and killing others, this is about competing with others. And another important aspect is being a beginner. In FPS games you don't have the chance to learn the game because you get killed 4 seconds after you spawn while here you can pull over, wait for others to pass, then drive at your own pace, learn the track and eventually catch up with others.
UF GTR (UFR)
[...] Dont be fooled by: The fact the über-LX LX8 GTR was cancelled for THIS. Boo.
And yay for having it back. Too bad a lot of people don't take the effort of reading such things even though it looks very useful. I'll check it out more thoroughly later.
I had to trim some bushes in the garden... At least I could get rid of the stress by thinking someone's finger was between the shears. It was much easier that way
What I find strange in a FWD GTR is when I have 2 wheels on the track and 2 on the grass and it's so hard to get back on the racetrack but I don't know why. The one on the grass has ~0 grip so the one on the track should pull the car back pretty easily with a little throttle control shouldn't it?
That's not the first time the server done that. It just doesn't like certain files
Anyway, I fixed the links and learned a lesson: the attach button of the forum is there for a reason
Have fun with the layout
Like the title says, this layout I made is about taking corners appropriately and keeping the car under control. This layout involves drifting, dirt slalom course, a bit of asphalt slalom course and a bit of reversing.
The aim is to bring the car behind the chalk lines. pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 pic5 pic6
I recommend watching the attached replay because the layout and the chalk arrows can get confusing.
Recommended cars to drive: XRG, XRT, LX4.
I'd appreciate some feedback
edit: sorry I never noticed the attach button...

Don't forget different lighting and wind strenghts. But I think you know what the public is like: The combo has to be easy to learn, reasonably safe (wide track, fast car) and most off all, perfect weather conditions. illepall
I'm worried what I'll find in the serverlist when I get back to public racing soon but I have a funny guess that it will be the same as a month ago.
I can totally agree on this, I don't like it when people ram me after a race. In fact, I shouldn't have to give a good reason for not liking it* and I shouldn't have to pit after the race. I move off the racetrack to be out of the way but that's as far as I'll go. Wreck other cars on the racetrack or the wall, I don't care, just leave me alone.
*I like the gorgeous look of my car unharmed
Exactly. We're talking about a racing simulator and I doubt that racers are informed of these events IRL. I think the only exception should be votes and setup sending messages.
I have the same problem with a little difference: I had two races on 23. Aug. Both at we1 with the UFR. That day and I think even the day after it was correctly logged but when I had a look today, I found that the second race was put forward by a day to an impossible time and even my car changed to XFR. When I check the race details I'm not even among the racers. Here's the link: http://www.lfsworld.net/?win=races&racer=K.David
I'm not sure where to ask this so here it goes:
There was an event I don't know the name of (EDIT: OLFSL I think) recently with LX4s on the dragstrip and I think Fireball(with a 1337ish spelling) was the commentator. You could stream watch it at http://live.lfs-league.com/
I would like to ask if that layout is public or not and if yes, where to get it
Thanks
And why would you want to lower your pb even 2 seconds lower than the wr? Do you want to boast with your pbs? Duh... it's about the racing. I know that pb table shows your skills somewhat but that's not all that counts.
Harry, that's not true, I've seen what you oval guys do. Stay in the slipstream at say 60% throttle and only overtake the one in front in the last lap. Pretty exciting huh?
I am very annoyed by these unnecessary binds. LFS indicates blue flag to the lapped car, no need to annoy people by pressing it five times and distract people! And no PASS RIGHT >>>>> sh*t either!
And no, I don't like to block, because I sometimes chat with mates.
People tend to lose their minds when trying to hotlap online with 10 others around. It's impossible! Racing online is about making decisions fast and very often, sacrifices, that's the thrill of it.
Ah yes I see them now. I don't use blackwood carpark if I make a layout. But I don't understand the point in having different objects for different tracks.
