I tend to tell people that a racing server is not a chatroom although I like to talk to fellow enthusiasts. But I generally respect others that are in race so I keep quiet and I will up until we have mute buttons for every connection

LOL this isn't carmageddon
Parts falling off should be behind nonvisible damage (oil, cooling, engine damage, etc.) on the list. These wouldn't affect performance while parts on the track would.
If there was an option where we could set if we wanted to see through the helmet's visor (literally) or not would be nice.

I think the mapping part of LFS is like the AI part, needs serious updating although I personally think the mapping is more important. We don't have proper RB4 mirrors, the exhaust pipes are missing on a lot of cars and I think the UFR should have a sunstrip (and while at sunstrips, I don't get it why it gets narrower with faster GTR cars - FXR, XRR, FZR)

Stunning
More topview cam (shift+u, v) would be nice I think.

+1 for the idea. The whole map info would have to updated so while at it, Scawen could make the doors/hoods/every clearly distinguishable part skinnable seperately (like 5px away from another skinnable area) to avoid nasty smudges in lowres.
We could make some really nice skins then.

How did the imaginary (i.e. not the licenced) cars get their names in LFS? It's been building up in me for a while and now I'm really curious

I have a feeling the letters 'F' and 'R' after 'X' stand for FWD and RWD - XF GTi, XR GT. RB4 GT implies its 4WD (but still where does 'R' and 'B' come from?). FXO - no clue. Same for UF1000, LXs and all the other cars...

Any ideas on this?

I just don't get it. There are an awful lot of movies/pictures with shadows off. Does it boost your FPS by a considerable amount? It looks terrible nontheless

Whatever you set it to. By default it uses 63392.

Well me too. I mean the amount of features to be implemented/improved will just be increasing as LFS approaches S3 (however slowly that is) and for one programmer it will just be too much.

I'm not an oval type of racer as my stats can show but I'd sure like to see a new oval track like the one in the picture. Having to reduce or even take away the accelerator completely sounds like an oval where racing skills are required.
I would definitely race on the new oval regularly.

Devs, please!

I think you will have to recreate it. There is an advanced layout editor somewhere around here, that might be able to sort of copy it from one place to another but I don't know much about that.

I think you can set to have a race in the car park area as well if you don't place a 'start location'. Then it will set the grid at a predefined place and you can do proper races. That's how it works on the autocross area, only been to bl car park like... twice. Hope I helped.

Don't know if you remember my LFSW prob but we solved it in like... two hours with 3 or 4 PMs and I was like: WTF I got a reply already? Soo sad to see you get in the background Best of luck!

So does that mean Eric will become a bit more active? Post here maybe?

Vain:
The UFR Miglia Cup was almost exactly like what you mentioned, only difference was in the awarded points and that the first 5 was reversed.
It was in fact a great league and I heard that the organising team (Team Diabolique) is considering organising another league around October or November. I don't know how they plan to do it concerning cars/tracks/lenght but I think you should look out for their announcement

The average player age in S2 is 26,32 (lfsworld.net data) and in the demo most people are around 14-18.

I'd like to know where you got the italic bit of info.
Anyway I think age has little to do with behaviour although it plays a role in general. Reading some of the posts here I wouldn't tell they were written by 12-14 yearolds, I'd guess something like 18+. And you have the other end, like kid (no offence)

While I agree on the fact that this is bad publicity for LFS, I'm sure you know everyone's answer to your problem. Also, I have heard there are good demo servers, best to write them down on a piece of paper and stick with those instead of joining any random server with 6+ people inside.

There might come an update you just can't miss so I would keep my licence if I were you. Don't forget, your licence will never expire and will be able to unlock cool things in a few years' time

Greetings to all drivers and organisers
I'd like to thank everyone for their efforts for making the league so much fun. As I have mentioned to some, this was my first league I participated in and thus has significance for me.

We had a few technical and lingual problems during the league but we managed to overcome them eventually.
Special thanks to B. Kristiansen, P. Nunes, P. Perdigao, L. Barbosa to name a few for the good fights.
Also special thanks to Cropsy, 500servers, SCCC team for hosting the races.
And most of all, special thanks goes to the members of Team Diabolique for organising this great league!

Congratulations to everyone who managed to tame this dodgy beast more or less! It was nice to meet you guys, hope to see you on the racetrack soon!

I used to use nicknames with teamtags. I was a public racer back then, then I entered a league (sig) where real name was mandatory and I got to like it. Now it just looks stupid to use my nickname (Spitfire<>shR) rather than David Kerek
I think it adds a bit of seriousness if there's such a word. I mean, you can only see racers' real names IRL so it would be quite obvious not to use nicknames in a simulator this has developed/is developing into.

1. You can't judge the amount of work others' did in order to perfect their skin. For some, it is hard work to open paint and draw 4 lines, for others it is hard to work with layers and wait days/weeks to have the imagination/skills/time to continue working on the skin. Remember that.
2. We paid for LFS S2 to use it. Did you pay to use those skins? Well then...

10pm GMT? That's a bit too late, isn't it? If you want a lot of racers to attend the league then I suggest you put the time earlier. That would be midnight here in Hungary, not to mention other countries further east!

Hello? This is a racing simulator. This isn't about illegal racing on public roads
NFS is a shame on driving games.
