My cousin who was a rally racer back then told me about LFS demo, about how close to reality it is and that it's free and works online so we raced a few evenings together. He had business to attend to and gradually gave up, but I stayed...
I didn't have the opportunity to test it with a lot of cars at once so I only hoped that the bales would respawn fast enough
Thanks for trying it out guys.
I raced a few rounds at FM's 8ball banger server and all the hard walls with them bugs annoyed me. They continually totalled my car and I couldn't enjoy the rest of the race with a car that could barely move.
This is why I made this layout. My aims were to:
-Create an asymmetric circuit so it won't be boring
-Have objects that absorb speed before you crash into a wall to minimize the chances of a wall bug
-Have as few objects in the layout as possible but still necessary to avoid unnecessary FPS drop
Yes I tweak setups to my own taste but some things I have to learn all over again every time I want to touch it, like gear ratios and gear settings :banghead:
Here's an idea: If you don't like a thread, don't post in it.
I find the pie chart useful, I've always been interested in the number of licenced racers. I thought it was more.
Maybe an AI could be the safety car so the server wouldn't need a person who can't race. That way the speed, the lines, everything would be exactly how they should and there wouldn't be people messing around with the role.
I don't find the suggestiong a good idea because of compatibility issues.
Now paying a little extra to have another (or two) smart person join the development and thus speeding things up would be another thing, in wihch I'd be totally in. But I guess that is very unlikely. Crap
When pressing 'n' to bring up the connections list, next to 'Connections' there could be the number of connections to the server, like 6/23. And it would also be nice to see the name of the server because I often forget it and it's not always written as the admin name.
It will be a different SO config because Sprint 1 only allows 16 cars on the grid.
They might just tell the config. on monday so they could stand a better chance of winning
The person hosting the server is automatically an admin and in order to let other people use admin rights, you have to set an admin password before launching the server. Other people can put the password in the password space before connecting, then they become admins as well.
The biggest advantage sound gives (to me) is that it makes me aware of approaching cars. Without sound, you'd have to look around, which makes me dizzy and can't keep the car in a straight line.
I remember the times when I used a mouse and had to set the brakes really low to avoid blocking, which obviously meant longer braking distance, thus slower laps. With a wheel and pedals, you can brake real hard at first, then gradually reduce the brakes, which makes braking very effective without blocking. Oh and try driving a FWD GTR with digital "pedals" ...
I can now safely say that after 6 months of getting used to my wheel I am faster and more stable, plus the thrill of it is one of a kind!
Those stripes are nowhere near eachother on the left side jovadzic. Please update it, this is the first skin I'd like to use (have no team skin for FOX)
Very nice skin though, there's imagination it it
These things happen every now and then. Someone has an idea that a car is neglected and makes a thread about it to see if he/she is on their own or not. Then some admins set their servers to that car and people can have fun with them for a few days, then it dies.
Why not (among a few servers) have the cars or rather classes for a week each? Have the names of the servers and the car in a sticky for everyone to see, something like:
