I'm not good enough to be able to drive fast laps without fully concentrating on my raceline, and so I don't look at my speed (digital), I disabled split time display and shrunk the size of chat messages (had a bad habit of wanting to read all of them which usually got me in the sandbox)
Still several seconds from WRs, but I'd rather choose this than to have no competition at all.
You race online to learn to drive rather than to have fun?
I think people learn to race not by deciding to learn it, but by racing a lot in order to enjoy themselves.
We don't know what features will be added to the final version, and to answer the AI issue, the demo is exactly the same as S2 only to exclude tracks and cars.
Having multiple private servers (by admins wanting to host good races) with a single password published here on the forum might be a solution because I think only a fraction of licensed racers visit the forum which also kind of filters serious racers from wreckers. Sensible people not reading the forum could get the password from fellow racers via instant messenger programs or something.
Might not be the best idea, but something needs to be done because I am losing faith towards the game and I think I am not alone
I was 'driving' with a mouse about a month ago and when I bought a wheel, I was aware of my disabilities and done some laps against AIs offline. I think people who are new to this whole thing should do the same. Speaking of this, the case when 15 cars crash after the lights go green pops into my mind...:dunce:
I think some kind of a reputation system should be introduced into LFS with the possibility to set a minimum reputation level for a server. We could have some real good racing then
The FZ50 is fun to drive (without TC of course), making it my temporary favourite. I think driving LRF Class cars require more attention and so I enjoy races at longer tracks (~2min. laptime). Sad to see LRF servers are empty most of the time.
I think a much faster car (compared to XFG, XRG, XRT) would show the thrill of racing much better and maybe add a new configuration of Blackwood (slightly longer than gp, FOX or FXR as the new car) because you have to react faster in those cars, giving a different experience. Plus the fast speed would show off the great physics more. A ~1 month online play limit would also be a good idea.
I updated my LFS from S to T5, there were so many improvements to do it for
(waiting patiently for the possibility to put different tyres on all four wheels and to tell the guys at the pit not to hammer my car out)
I think the Developers really deserve the money for their elaborate work and people not (yet) banned should realise this. I mean, what would the people with cracked copies do if their hard work was stolen and used regularly?
The Developers must have a hard time bearing all this... some crack their software, some are discontented with the planned features. The only reason I don't feel sorry for them is the contract they've made with BMW
I think the BF1 would have a hideous sound without throttle cut. I could imagine a minor engine damage over just 1 or 2 laps if cut is off, making people turn it on, making the sound of it more realistic. Maybe?
We should be seeing the next update in about two hours' time :laola:
And I'm happy if the patch comes out on friday or saturday... won't screw my studying
