Bah, Cell is a CPU, the GPU is RSX. Fair enough it's specially designed for the processor, but still. I've seen the RSX stats and overall it's not that impressive in terms of power. But I guess it all depends what all they can offload to a random core, since no bugger seems to know exactly what it'll do
In-engine maybe, but definitely Photo Mode rather than full racing mode. I'm sure even a couple of top-end SLI cards couldn't push round a full field with all that AA and that kind of detail on each one.
That bottom one, on the other hand, is a game view. Slightly saturated colour, less defined lower-fidelity reflections, obvious poly edges along the wheel arch.
I guess time will tell though. I'll hold my hands up and bow to their amazing graphics engine if they have managed to get that sort of thing in a playable form
That top pic there must be a render. I really doubt that you could get a full field of cars with that much detail - the RSX isn't completely unstoppable y'know
And danowat, Little Big Planet has water now! It's a level-wide feature though so you can't make self-contained pools, but it's still cool. Although it might be still be a beta feature, so if it is you didn't hear nothing. Especially not about the way you doggy-paddle along the surface
It's pretty obvious from the story that the guy was LOOKING for trouble. Plenty of religions wear headgear, but how many of them carry cards around to announce it to anyone who might ask them to remove it? And why was that his first response rather than just "I can't, it's a religious item". I really doubt any pleb on the floor of a supermarket is going to start an argument about that.
You'd be better wording it as a "£36 voucher code" rather than an S3 license, to avoid any confusion with the game version or exactly what you're offering - you don't want any confusion that you have a spare license you need to get rid of
That's actually a little below normal. They still regularly go for about £60 on eBay.
There was a swell in prices when GT5:P came out on PS3 and people realised they could use them for that, but it seems to have dropped a bit again.
Not that I can afford that much. My top bid was £25
I got my license a while back now. Not as long as some, but longer than others. 2006 I believe. And the only reason I don't get my LFS on regularly is because my wheel doesn't work properly. If I had one, I'd be ranking up the miles all the time.
It's just plain fun, simple as that. And it's not like it costs you any more money if you don't use it - it's still cheaper than a regular game and it'll be there waiting for you when you come back. And come back you will. That's the only warning I can give - LFS may taint the enjoyment of any future racing games you play
Staying at halls is a good life lesson. Teaches you self-reliance and budgeting skills. After all, I pay about 4 times that in rent now But it does seem a little pointless when it's only a stones throw from your actual house. I doubt I'd bother staying somewhere (and paying out for it) if I had the option.
Nothing wrong with taking the easy way out if everyone wins that way. But offer your folks some money (even though it won't cover anything like the cost of having you there), it's the least you can do.
"We want real tracks!"
"You might be getting this one."
"We don't want that one!"
It must seem like an utterly thankless task sometimes. There's three options here: One, it really is a new track. Two, it's just a mod for the show. Three, it's a new real track to replace the Kyoto setting.
Cel-shaded graphics are not inherently upbeat. I'd say most actual comics tend to lean towards unpleasant. I've only read one full series of graphic novels (Neil Gaiman's fantastic Sandman) and they're pretty dark. Besides, that graphical style works really well for cyberpunk stuff.
Yup. An average of about 200k per car in Forza 2, and they said about 10 times the polycount in Forza 3. They're modelling more internal parts behind grills and stuff this time, which will add to it.
Sounds crazy to me, having grown up in the era of 8-bit pixel sprites
I guess it depends on how cleverly shaded the LFS skin is.
They're claiming the polycount in FM3 is around a million per car (presumably that's in photo mode, no way it could run that in full race mode) so obviously a car with curves is going to look way better than anything in LFS But with clever skinning you can give the appearance of curves and lines that aren't really there.
I think it's going to have to be the 360 version due to having more friends and a much better pad. Although I'm pretty sure most of my friends don't really know me and only added me to get my Trials HD levels
Turns out I'm getting shoes that won't fit me and a t-shirt as well. Awesome
Perfectly feasable that it looked like the hand was being used, if the snake was crawling along as normal and the hand was dragging against the wall. But to claim the snake was hanging off the wall is ridiculous - hanging onto what?
