Course it's another racer that I expect I suck at, but I was pretty competitive in the demo - and even won a couple of races! Haven't taken the full game online yet though.

The original Dirt might be crap, but Dirt 2 is really good.

Still trying to talk the other half into letting me pre-order so I can get the special cars Reviews are apparently due to start rolling out on the 8th, so I fully expect to see some comprehensive car lists popping up over the next few days.

But where to pre-order from? GAME for the M3 E92 or Gamestation for the Lancer Evo X? I can't choose!

It has credits that you can roll by going into your trailer and looking at the Extras section. But I didn't get any credits when I won X Games America. That was what I'd consider a traditional big ending, but it does stick you back in the game right after. I don't think it'll suddenly give you a reward when you reach 100% though, that wouldn't flow very well if it was just some stupid little event that got you there.

I guess when it's a hub for events you can repeat as often as you like, and the only access to multiplayer, sticking random staff lists in is a waste of time and keeps people from playing for no good reason

I'm with jibber on this one. Tyres are important and I'd always buy the best I could afford.

Just be careful with BlackCircles. I was talking to my local garage, and they offer decent Michelin tyres for a better price than the ones I got online, so I'll be going straight to them in future.

Maybe. I mean I grew up during the Spectrum/C64 fanboy wars and then migrated to the SNES/MegaDrive wars, but even though I was 20 and then 10 years younger respectively, they never got as petty as this one.

I'd like fans of both games to admit they each have a place in the sim world. Don't see why it has to be one or the other. I own both Forza 2 and GT5:P. I will own Forza 3 and GT5. Does that make me some kind of advocate for peace?

The thing is, the uproar about the graphics in FM3 haven't been about the cars around you - the only reduced-polycount car is your own, which you don't see that much of anyway.

I'm sure by now everyone knows the difference between Photo Mode and proper play mode. Besides, irrelevant of the mode, those are still the graphics. You can load the game up and see those images, right on the screen, being rendered in realtime. So what's the problem?

I'm not a big fan of new Bimmers with the very smooth curves to the bonnet, but that's quite nice. Still looking forward to this (and have informed the other half I'll be buying it day one and taking the launch day off work)

Yes, airflow in cases is much better with the sides on. That's why they have them. These design engineers don't get paid for nothin' y'know
The only time I've had issues with my 3rd hard drive (I run 3) is because of two things.

Firstly, an old dying PSU. Obviously as these age they put out less power, so one that was just enough 6 months ago is likely to be insufficient now.

And secondly, drivers. The stupid nVidia Forceware drivers (for the SATA) seemed to keep randomly uninstalling themselves. I'm not sure if this could be related to the power though - if it wasn't detecting the device it might've removed the drivers.

I turn off the driver, but on the formula cars you end up with the horrible (IMO) OSD version of the wheel info if you turn the wheel off. I'd quite happily live without the wheel as well otherwise.

It might not be as mountainous as some places, but the southern part is covered in lakes, so it must have hills round there. And I expect that since there's a mountain range runs along the north border, it's probably fairly hilly up there too. Great spots for interesting driving experiences

That's exactly how the rumour treadmill starts. One person has an idea with some flimsy justification, then other people agree. I know a load of cars I'd be glad to see added, and there's probably as much justification for them, but there no point speculating as it only leads to disappointment.
