In this pack you will find the Caterham details for the car including custom racing seats featuring the Caterham yellow and the seven in the grill, but thats not all the caterham pack includes caterham original Skins there are 6 of these including a Fex3 Customs exclusive design in honor of the Lotus Caterham seven series how ever the custom design will only be available for a limited time where the original designs will remain available along with the dds files.

Hello Everyone I'm Back

This time i've been trying out some DDS editing and this particular one took about 5 hours to complete, ironic isint it FZ5 took 5 hours about to complete Rofl, Anyway i have given the FZ5 a modern update including a full interior makeover how ever i don't know how to edit the seats so they stand out a bit much but its okay i guess well enough talk let me show what i have done! Thumbs up

If you are like artist, developing new dds, you may even consider creating local git repository over your copy of game, and keep versioning files when you are happy about particular version, so you later can go through the history of changes, or revert in case something breaks. Also you will be able to detect all changes made by next official patch.

Just download the game and install it in a other location, copy the dds folder from your new install, delete the older one (yes, delete it to remove any unused dds files added by some mods), and paste the new in place. Wink

i ruined blackwood and westhill with a big dds retexture... i fixed the other tracks but i have a problem with those two tracks

Hello I want to customize lets say colorize turn markers, tables with meters to turns... In South City it is easy just by editing CTYmarkers2.dds.
But if i'm editing BLWmarkers1_ALP.dds for Blackwood track I can change only color of numbers, 50, 100, 150, 200 and even if I change backround of markers - in game it is still the same - like in original.
Can anybody say where is the problem?

EDIT> so i find reason... in dds file is one field for backround and it is same for all turn makers, so u can in this file colorize only digits - distance 50, 100, 150 etc with one colour of backround. I dont know why it is not like in South City where u can colorize all each trun marker...

Hello, i'm back into LFS after several years. I'm thinking that i used some grafik pack for improving track looks and mainly i had there coloured table sign before turns, like 150 was with yellow backround, 100 was with red backround or something like that.
Now i'm wondering if exist something like that, aplicable on last version of LFS. I mean only this coloured sign before turns will be enough for me.

Edit> ok now I find that I have to edit *markers*.dds files to colorize turn markers. It don't work for now, but how to properly save it with alfa layer - i hope that others help me in other part of this forum.

Yes, that happens the first time you load a sky in this intermediate version. A missing dds file causes that error message. The correct png file is then converted to a dds file and you don't get the message next time. It's a bit misleading, in fact it was already on my list. Although it wouldn't happen in the official release as the correct files would be in place.

Thanks, yes that is a bit of a pointless restriction in this case. I've made a note to look at that. In the meantime, it will work on the host, because that one does have a "start parameter" i.e. /host.

So you can have LFS.exe /host=name /log=host.txt

OK, here is the test patch. I don't recommend it for everyone, as some lighting has been removed from some of the objects in the more recently updated tracks (WE / BL / RO).

Please backup your version R LFS.exe so you can return to that version at any time.


EDIT : UPDATED TO R7 ON 24 OCTOBER


NOTE :

When you first run this test patch there will be a hang of around
40 seconds while the old .raw files are converted to .png files.


NOTE2 :

Due to various updates, the rendered lighting has been removed from
modelled objects in the game. This can only be fixed by supplying
freshly rendered tracks but this is just a small test patch.


Installation :

A FULL version of LFS 0.6R must already be installed

To install the PATCH :

1) Move or save the patch into your main LFS folder
2) Double click the patch to extract it to that folder
3) When you see "Confirm File Replace" select "Yes to All"
4) Now you can start LFS in the normal way

NOTE : You can see if the patch is correctly installed when you run
the program (LFS.exe). At the bottom of the entry screen : 0.6R5


Changes from 0.6R to 0.6R5 :

Textures :

PNG files are now used in the few cases where RAW files were used
Removed option to view sky in 16-bit colour
Sky now uses DDS (compressed) textures

Commands :

Improved processing of command line to be more flexible
New command /settings=X.txt - uses X.txt instead of cfg.txt
Command /settings must be the first on command line or in file
Command /mp (join local host) can now be used on the command line

Misc :

Live for Speed can now recover from a graphics driver error
LFS starting in borderless window mode now goes to the same monitor
Textures are no longer reloaded when changing weather (avoids hang)
New option "Display LFS logo in game" (not optional in demo mode)
English file is no longer saved when LFS starts (can be deleted)

VR :

New commands to skip F8 menu /vr reset_headset and /vr use_relative

It is easier to maintain files, car setups, track layouts, custom billboard graphics etc... with just one.

I guess you could create junctions for the folders you want to share and still get the best of both worlds. Move the folders (eg setups, dds, skins) you want to share to another location create your junctions, et voila.

There may be a move to RGB-A for car skins at some point in the future, as that format is already being used in places for transparency (trees, people, backgrounds, etc). The only barrier at this time is that there's no easy way to port the format out of paint programs without a plugin and a bit of advanced knowledge.

The easiest solution that I can foresee would be a web app that combines 2 image files together - an RGB image and a grayscale image - into a single DDS that you could download and drop into your data/skins folder...

Well, stuff like custom .dds files, many screenshots and skins. A lot of replays too. A lot of LFS was played until the end of CL24.

You'll need to save your custom skin as a DDS file, as there's no auto-conversion like there is for car and helmet skins. You may need to track down a DDS plugin for your painting software, as it's not a standard file format for most people outside the game development world...

Then you need to rename your file so it has the same name as one of the existing skin files, and then replace/overwrite the default file in the data folder with your new skin.

You'll need to distribute that same DDS to anyone else that you want to be able to see your suit/gloves - team-members, etc.

Don't forget to backup the original LFS textures before you go overwriting them, just in case you need to go back

Rules:

How it works?
1. There will be teams ( 2Drivers on each team )
2. Teams and team skins will be named by me like: Pirelli Motorsport and then you will have Pirelli Motorsport skin if you choose this team.
3. There is also main teams on each car manafacuter. Opel have Opel Motorsport and Peugeot have Peugeot Sport etc. 2 fastest drivers from each car manafacuter will automatically go on main team.
4. There will be qualifaction stage and after that drivers pick up a team by time order (Fastest picks First, Slowest last).
5. There will be RECCE videos on youtube from the stages ( In-Car from stages ). You cant see how other drivers drive the stage, u cant save the stage and cheat by driving the stage on single player.
6. Startsystem will be Facebook Chat. When i say your name and number in the chat, You join to the server and drive the stage
7. Car will be XFG.
8. Serie uses "Rally marks". U can download those below (AX.Arrows.dds & AX_Barriers.dds

I found this great high res interior for the FZ50 by 'dubmods' on the 'city-driving' forum

It has some amazing LED lights for the rear of the car, but I think the new front lights are too small. So I edited the .dds and just repositioned some high res lights. (2048x2048 dimensions used)

LFS is one of my most favoured driving games (for it's realism) Thumbs up

I enjoy cruising, but sometimes the original interiors aren't as defined as I'd like. I've looked around on the forum and found this great one by "BOSCHO"

I think it's awesome, but the original back seat in the RB4 looked a bit old (and blurry), so I've tinkered around with the .dds and made some changes. (2048x2048 dimensions used)

(to use the .dds files in game, just drag them into the directory LFS/data/dds (make sure you backup your original)

New textures include:

- Rear Side Panels
- Rear Seats (black leather)
- Carpet (black)
- Intercooler (exposed)
- Headliner (cream)
- Grill & Intake (black mesh)
- Headlights (high res lights/custom reflector)
- Tail Lights (black mesh on red lens only)

Hmh? As I see it... why?

I havent changed any .vob files, but I see some of the files have been edited in different timelines. But nothing is changed or edited by me. No problems here with a plain install, bar the thicker smoke DDS. I use AONIO rather than LFSLazy, too.

I reinstalled last night and copied all my mods (10gb dds files) and with CSR revbouncer and lfslazy and it all works without CPW so Idk what was causing it.Just waiting on all my bans now to expire..

I don't see the problem of that I used every recent mod that works on normal servers, I even tapped couple of cars to test and...nothing happened just heard metal clipping each other and didn't caused the glitchy car explosion.

Oh boy CSR, LFSLazy and Revbouncer aren't allowed be used...best add-ons made by modders that poured all their passion to make this game better now it has been flushed away...if you stopped reading here.

If you people don't know the CPW error can be caused by having too much EXTRA dds and sound files, do a clean install and pick the stuff you like more and gg, just don't overdo on your favourite stuff.
(DISCLAIMER: IM NOT 100% SURE IF IT'LL CAUSE ANY ISSUE USING THE ADD-ONS WITH A FRESH CLEAN INSTALL)

I don't support this new anti-cheat, honestly the hacking issue on a server is between the server admin and the hacker, other players must witness the issue so admin can take action, final.

Eh, I held stupid updates until this one...I might back off from LFS for a while.

It's obviously not because of extra DDS etc. in this case because a lot of people got CPW banned simultaneously right after what Scawen said in that cheats/mods thread.In my case its because of RevBouncer (tried it earlier on Drift+Scorer and bam another 12 hours break ggwp)
