Well, anyways, I remember the old database had back-up files for download (i.e. default dds and pic folders). I think those would be nice for the new site as well, I've seen a lot of guys requesting original dds files over at misc addons section.

You have a problem with DDS textures. Check that your graphic driver has the options set to max quality

You can use DDS Converter to convert them to jpg and back. Or, if you have Adobe Photoshop, you can download a DDS plugin.

INSTALL: (back up any old files)
1.Unpack with winrar or simular.
2.copy and paste folders to Dir: LFS/DATA (click yes to replace all)
3.Start up LFS.

I use the Bloom settings Below, from Velociround, i canged the settings to fit my needs.
Got great response to this setting.

Unpack to : Lfs dir. NOT in DATA folder, same folder as lfs.exe.
Use Shift+backspace to turn on/off

Introduction._

The reason for the Revolution Pack June 24th (excuse me for having brought it much earlier but the planning has been very good) is because the lfsforum.net has encouraged me a lot since I made the first RP April 7th.

This work has been very successful not only here but in communities around the world. To all of you I say, thank you.

In fact the RP June 24th would not exist. It does thanks to all of you and your motivation.

It also exists due to the lacks of the RP April 7th in which I have not investigated deeply and can be guilty of being too shiny and that there’s nothing that reflects what's on stage.

In the teaser video I have put the coat of arms of my Team. On this occasion Arias and TRAVIS have not taken part as they did in the RP 28th August (Beefyman666 has also not participated) but it was a way to honor them for the great friendship I have with them and for their unconditional support.

Now to finish I want to say thank you again, it has been a great pleasure for me to have done this work in which I spent about 257 hours (it took me more hours for less addons but the content is now higher quality). And I want to dedicate this work to all the artists who publish their work in lfsforum.net

I admire them very much for all of their work and commitment to devote themselves to the community so concerned and giving their time.

Landscapes:

Without a doubt the most complex work within this pack and the one with which I had the most frustrating moments. The documentation is a function of what area and what type of vegetation the circuit has. Westhill is assumed to be an English circuit in a plain area, Fern Bay is placed somewhere in Jamaica, Aston could be anywhere in the world where the place’s names are in English and Kyoto is placed in Japan.

There is only a slight error in the landscapes and it is the Kyoto landscape with which I was unable to find the best fitting to what is called “Blue Mountains”, but it is very close.

Reflections:

To develop the reflections I do a fully comprehensive investigation based on the work and lighting I have to do. For example: Fern Bay clear day. 80% of the time it took me was the documentation I did on the street observing cars of all colors, if they are in the sun or in the shadows and see the mechanics of reflections. The other sources are youtube videos such as Top Gear and photographs.
There have been occasions in which I had to wait until the day was cloudy to perform the work of documentation.

The reflections received a lighting work of several stages. The skies stage of work, the light from the near and far elements. Then work on the global part. 3 stages as I have put it in the Teaser video.

Then I perform the tests comparing it to the real life (I go to the street), videos and photographs.

My verdict for the reflections is the following:

In the Black cars the reflections shine about 10% less than in real life.
In the White cars the reflections shine about 25% more.
It was difficult to make a decision but I have achieved this balance.

The reflections consist of two modes: generic and concrete. The generic reflects the generic parts of the scenery except for South City clear evening and overcast day.
The concrete reflections reflect specific objects and the most important things of the scenery in the exact angle.
There are circuits without specific objects because its file is shared with other circuit. Therefore it has not been possible to develop a clear statistic of which objects to place.
South City clear evening and cloudy day have two options. They are concrete reflections. It has been made like this because of the amount of objects to reflect and a generic reflection would be meaningless.

Circuits with only generic reflections:

Blackwood cloudy afternoon. Blackwood cloudy sunset. Fern bay cloudy sunset, Kyoto overcast morning, Aston cloudy evening, Aston clear day, Westhill clear day.

On clear days, the cars have metallic effect in the area where the sun shines.

In the lastest versions the skins are .dds files so all the default skins are in that folder.

Sorry if this seems rude, but is it soo darn hard to reinstall LFS to a different folder and then copy the .dds files from there to your original LFS folder?

Very simple 10 minute job for a mate that asked for it. Rays Engineering LM GT4 rims for current XRT. Can`t be cleanly done exactly as the real ones are, so it`s a reasonable interpretation.

Plain white. Use the colour sliders in the showroom for other colours.

Extract somewhere, throw the .dds file in your LFS dds/ folder to install. Back up the original before use.

You can only use dds mods, to use them, place the .dds file into your LFS/dds folder.

CAUTION: .VOB MODS AREN'T ALLOWED, better to say, they are ILEGAL!

Well i did a texture/car mod to the FZR, FZ5, XRT and XRR.. I was wondering if someone could send me the non-modded .dds files so i can make the cars look normal again.

Drop this in your data/skins_dds folder, should be able to load it now as its the skin you posted but converted to dds lol

This is a separate issue. Demo users can't upload skins to LFS World and you're not allowed to ask people to upload them for you. If you want to upload your skin to LFS World (so other users can see it) you'll need to either buy an S1/S2 license or add credit to your account and purchase skin upload slots.

The name was an example sorry, I know but alot of my skins I jsut use so only I can see them. My team name file is exactly 15 characters long, I'm not sure why it won't convert of to DDs.

I usually do, but I had to do a full re-installation of LFS a couple of days ago, where I deleted my whole LFS folder, think I had 30odd GB of LFS related stuff in there, anyways, my dds backup folder went with that.

No you dont, just download it and open dds files straight away, then edit as you want and save as directdraw surface (*dds) which is right at the bottom and your done!

paint.net can load dds files, fact.
