Just download everything and extract into a folder to view them with the DDS viewer or Photoshop, and see what there is, and so you can remember what you put into LFS. And why wouldn't the high res pack be suitable for patch Z?
Hey, I'm looking for an FXO interior which looks quite old. I don't mean like an old muscle car but just like an interior that looks shabby, worn out etc. I know it's possible but my DDS editing skills just aren't good enough, please try
How does this work, as I'v tried unpacking the .dds files to the dds folder and run the .exe app and selected the rims I wanted, however does not come up on my XR?
i backed up my .dds folder so i have working textures, but the way i have LFS to look right now, the dashboard in the XRT and the RB4 are waayy too dark. anyone have some not-so-dark textures for the interior i can have?
any time i try to install any textures the door panels are gray, so i need some textures that are after the update.
EDIT: i got those .dds problems squared away with the stock files, but now sounds. i can not find the proper files to do a good skid sound.
attached i have the 4 that i have been tinkering with trying to get it to sound the best, but no avail.
Then please search first if you're new, and post to correct part of forum, DDS and file formats are easy learn to use computer and PS first.
PS exports to DDS itself or use Nvidia tools, uncle google is your friend.
I'v looked through other posts and cannot find the problem solution I am looking for so here goes:
I'v edited the XR_Interior 1 File in Photoshop and saved it as a .jpeg
How can I use this in my game, as obviously I cannot just change the extension to .dds?
Go to your graphics card configuration (the icon next to Windows clock) and check what's your dds mipmap configuration. You have to set it to quality instead of performance
Interiors are made by editing .dds file: A bit of help here: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=676 I haven't tried it, but I don't think it'll be as easy as making a car skin!
Making a thread is easy; but do search, search and search (bump threads if necessary) for topics already discussed before making a new thread
So I wrote a bit with a friend of mine, and it appeared that we both wanted yellow tinted lights for the GTR cars, now here's a little example of something I quickly made in GIMP, it's not very good, but it makes the front lights of the FZR and FZ5 yellow...
*Note that these DDS files are not perfected yet, you can easily spot that the yellow is not perfectly colored to all sides yet, feel free to do that yourself if you want.
You can try saving the FZR_DEFAULT.jpeg as FZR_DEFAULT.jpg on an graphics editing program (Paint might work!)
Edit: scratch that.
Edit 2: AFAIK, the data/skins/ folder is empty (except for the SKINS_readme file). So the FZR_default.jpeg is a file you've saved. Its odd that you can't find it, but LFS is still trying to recall it... LFS will convert .jpg files in to .dds (LFS uses .dds file as the skin - it can't convert .jpeg files iirc).
Edit 3: I have saved a skin as .jpeg, but I don't get any errors. It just fails to show up in-game.
Edit 4: Found it. Somehow you're missing the FZR_DEFAULT.DDS file from your /lfs/skins_dds folder. Save the following attachment (the .dds file) in your /lfs/skins_dds folder and it should work
PS: I replicated the error by deleting my FBM_default.dds and trying to open LFS
Who knew LFS wouldn't start without the _DEFAULT.DDS files? :P
