i think the guest one is only a dds for yourskins_dds folder that you have a hiighres version ingame but you´re not allowed to use it cause its a teamskin i think.

The 'splodge' is from the original photo. I think its where the groove ends in the void area, but youre right, as the 3d model doesnt represent this shape. Thats an easy one to fix and ill get onto it.
Regarding the opacity, im not really sure what you mean? This dds doesnt have an alpha layer, so how do you make it less opaque? Im also not sure what you mean about the missing piece but would appreciate any help you can give
Very nice! Shame other people won't be able to see them though, I'm still wondering why it's like a dds file where only you can see the suit unlike a normal skin file where everyone can see it
I have a question which needs answering by a developer.
I want to know what we are allowed to change in the game?
Are we allowed to change the files in the LFS/data/pics folder?
I know VOB mods are not allowed, i have been told that we can change the .dds files. i would like to hear from the horses mouth (developers) what we are allowed to change as i really dont want to get in any trouble.
Sj go into single player and change your car to something standard like XFG then try to reconnect with any host, but just before you do press shift+F8 (network debug) this should display more info and hopefully lead to a conclusion
I think Gav is probably right with modified exe or downloaded vob or dds files
As long as they are uploaded on LFSW, nothing prevents people from searching in their skins_x folder, find them back, and convert them from dds to jpg.
since the latest test patch came out i believe the cerb chalk dds files are not working anymore. so is somebody already making new ones or are there any new ones out there yet ?
Haha there very easy to make! if you send me your LOGOALPHA.dds file found in LFS/data/dds i will make them for you! and put them up for download so everyone eles can use them i would post the ones i have but there not LFS original
Ahh why does this not work for me? Placed at .DDS Files in the data/dds folder. Opened the programme and selected my Rim that i wanted. Pitted the car, and i still see the same rim? What have i done wrong?
Rename your dds folder to dds2, create another dds folder and open LFS. Then start putting stuff related to the car back in the dds folder and reloading the textures using low -> high res textures until you find it.
hi fellow LFS'ers im needing some help indetifying a .DDS texture. ive made someside walls for the team im in and added a little white stripe to the inside of the tyre.
now what i need to know is, what is the dds texture for the inner sidewall? i thought it was on the same dds file but it seems im wrong and cant seem to locate the innersidewall texture.
I've tried rendering an own made skin (here You can find it: http://imageshack.us/f/38/probas.jpg/ ) - I know it is very noobish, but this was my first attempt. I have some qouestions about rendering: (I use 3dsmax)
- How can I make the windows transparent?
- How can I "use" that wheel which is in the background? (leonardo555's top quality wheel) How can I "fill properly" the tyre wall?
- I didn't find some .dds-s in the data/dds folder... Should I install a fresh' LFS? (e.g. s_mirr.dds)
- How can You create those f**king awesome rendered pictures? : )
about LFS i think it should be a mouvement action when the drivershift gear up/gear down like we can see the driver shift up and shift down gears in the game + I was thinkinng about a better in-game sound effect like environnement sounds, sounds in the pits and other type of race sounds effect.

There are two tools for making vob mods. One of them is messing the collision box of cars and the other one does not. Mod you are using was probably done with that second tool and that means it's a clearly visual modification (like a dds) and it doesn't affect collisions, physics, etc.
Not like I'm modding vobs by myself, I just heard that somewhere...
