well.. finally saw the race.
Yet another awesome grand prix - its been what? 10 years since such a good season?

Im a hamilton fan, and Im glad what I think of him is still true: Very skilled, fast driver, great potential.
But still waaay too wet behind the ears, so keeps making pretty stupid mistakes then "ahhhh that was a shooting star that turned and blinded me so I erm.. it was an accident, I swearz".

He should REALLY spend a season in williams - the team were drivers are just another employee - that should bring him down to earth.
And all that James Allen-Intrepid fanboy insanity isnt helping him at all

blargh. I dont get the iPhone at all.
Why not spend the same money (and problably even less) on a PDA? more funcionality, waaaay more features...

My pda has all the iPhone has plus a decent working wireless (one you can *gasp* configure), GPS, word, excel, acrobat reader etc... I honestly dont get it. And I'v used one - its just a ridiculously overpriced piece of design...

Im now (finally!) watching the canadian GP.
And only 3 mins into ITV's show in qualifying, and I already hate James Allen. the idiot. Honestly, he should be commenting the Euro, for all he knows about the sport. I guess is hamilton began playing soccer he'd go comment on soccer... What an idiot.

On the other hand, major props for blundell - keeps his composure though it sounds at times he rather hit allen with a brick to the face.

t-ronx, when I try using your lib for outgauge on compact Framework(didnt use it for insim yet), it gives run-time error of "cannot load System with this version of....."

You didnt update outgauge for CF, did ya?

Im trying to code a gauge for windows mobile 5 - should be a big hit.
Another way, of course, is simply code my own listener, but my m4d sk1lzzz dont quite strech that far yet. (maybe after exams Ill go dig up my Computer Networks notes, and go and code a TCP listener myself).

yeah - if you take the time to look at your speedo when you do a normal corner in RL, you'll see that 90% of them are done at... 30kph. and THAT is usually fast enough to get woman and small children screaming in the back seats... Trust me on that one.
I defy you to do a roundabout (medium sized) @ 50kph.
In south city, the hairpin should be taken at no more than 20kph, and the large long under the highway in SO6 etc... should be done at 50kph maximum.

well... generally there isnt a reason for used tyres to have less grip... slicks have rubber on rubber, so up to the point when you are rolling in the structural mesh, you are always driving on the same rubber, so you should have the same grip (for the same temp). For treaded tires its different - the more worn, the more grip, cause it begins to resemble a slick more and more.

In road cars, since when the tire is reaching its "slick" phase and needs to be changed (unless you are 100% positive it wont rain, nor will you find any pebbles/sand/small stones on the road), you SHOULD have more grip.. but you don't. This is cause by the time the tyre reaches its slick phase, its 2-3 years old (lets say 40'000kms), and the sun has cooked it till its much harder than before. It is also much more brittle - you can see this by looking at the sidewalls of an old tire - between the sidewalls and the treads, you can see small "cracks" in the rubber - it has hardened, and provides a lot less grip.

It IS normal to have faster laptimes at the end of stints- even in RL - just look at f1's times (the easiest to find laptimes) - they do good laps all during the sting, and the times usually shrink (due to a lighter car as it burns off fuel). Only on long stints the last laps aint that fast, cause a) driver is conserving whatever left is of his tires b) driver is nervous his tire might not last and propell him headfirst into that hard hard wall at 200kph and c) tires are very cold, cant heat up, and provide less grip. Usually all3.

Takes a special driver to really take advantage of the cold end-of-life tires and the light fuel load and make some mind-boggling fast laps (schumi/senna etc) - one that knows just how much the tire will still last from the feel it gives - from the temperature its at (taken from how much grip its giving), and for how hard its been pushed, then estimate if it will last just one more lap or not

when driving, in an intersection, you hit your horn when you wanted to quickly glance left (to see if anyone is coming)

strange... my best laps are usually so on edge my fingers hurt at the end of the lap from gripping the wheel so hard.
I remember my best lap on the FXR BL1 - I spent half the lap on two wheels, full throttle

still about that website - that story about the english town-obscuring "Trans Portuguese" plane... Its is true, my dad was on the plane(working), and that is a classic family story. Apparently the plane was sitting there, ready to takeoff, spewing a lot of smoke as the 707's did... for a looooooooong time.

Mine is fixed, because like I said before, Im a moronic, drooling half-wit.
I forgot I was @ university and the eduroam network had most problably the ports closed.

Anyhoww - that error is created when you cannot open a socket to connect to the insimrelay.

Victor - any chance of using a http port? so it goes under the radar for business firewalls?

it will rotate if you unpause the game. unpause, rotate to where you want, re-pause.

Believe it or not, it might be.. biological.

Humans have moments of peak awareness, tuned to the height the sun is in the sky - that is, according to one's internal clock.

Just as its not a good idea to go for a competitive drive just after lunch (youll get that after-lunch-sleepiness), there are other times in the day when your reflexes and coordination are at an all-time high.

If you are aware of it, you'll find some times of day when you seem to always do better, react faster and more accurately.

Of course, this is just a "modifier" - then main problem usually is lack of concentration, lack of caffeine, etc... all of the above, really.

Another advice is: Warm-up. do something that will pump your reflexes up. Like go play some hyperfast shooter for a few mins before going to LFS (something like Quake3 - where you dont get the option to slow down for a moment). When you get to LFS, youll be so used to having to think uber-fast, it will seem sloooow.
OR drive in LFS a car thats a lot faster than the one you are gonna go drive in - to get ready to drive the FOX, I usually do the same combo in the FO8/BF1 -then driving the fox feels like driving in slo-mo

Me thinks its extra points to hamilton and sutil for pulling away with HEAVY HEAVY CARS in the rain.
The reason for the extra stop on the other teams is that with the car brimming with fuel, its harder to control, and in the rain its even worse. And in monaco, much worse...
Credits for the two guy that managed to keep their cars off the walls... (hamilton did hit, but when he had a heavy car and knew he jsut _couldnt_ screw up again, managed a boring but very consistent race).

I loved it - but I hate you. I wanted to do a movie with that song, now I cant.
I wanted to do a movie with "requiem for a dream", you also broke that

I liked it, and for comparison, I dont like squid's movies
I like more of the "racing action movies", not the "special effects movies cause we can" movies.
Squids are even worse for me - the storytelling movies.
For example, I usually nod off during lynce's movies, but this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAvj0iY1Zig
Is bookmarked, is on my PDA, and is watched all the time.

This is not to say they are bad - lynce's are easily the BEST movies I have EVER seen in ANY game.. but I dont like the... lets say ...script.
I prefer the "Wow" moments - then again, Im a racer, not a moviemaker, so I like racing, not moviemaking
Summing it up, I prefer the content, not the skill in the making of. (though obviously both are important, its a matter of priority).

I have spoken.
