I just found a scrapyard that as a PILE of car seats lying around. Im thinking of getting one (there are some sporty seats, some leather seats.... the lot) as my command chair/racing seat.
Good thing is, car seats are the best chairs around, but they are also lacking... legs. So they are very very low. My desk is about 72cms high, so Ill need to find a way to raise the seat.
Any ideias? Get a big block ' wood and mount the seat's rails on that?
Its a TEAM sport.
I'd be expecting that if raikonnen got in front of hamilton that raik would slow down, making hamilton loose time, while massa would happily go pit.
The idea for this IDIOTIC looking wing is to make the rear wing less efficient when slipstreaming - thus preventing the car going into uber-understeer mode whenever cars are 100m apart.
Unfortunatly, I brake with the clutch pedal - feels more natural, having the accel/brake pedal a bit farther apart (for single-seater racing, that is).
Sorry - was in a rush.
I meant the whole qualifying was great - and the rest was about q2 onwards.
Sooo.. those that got in q3 CANT change their setup (as I though). So if its a DRY race, theyr semi-stuffed. (the way the cars behaved, they appeared to be on a intermediate setup, not a fully wet car setup.
And the tires? I believe they CAN change the tires before the race, aye?
Plus, not being in Q3 is an advantage for tomorrow - they can fuel the car so that when the rain is expected to start falling, the car has to pit.
The q3 guys.... too bad
It CAN make or brake a race... but starting from 10th is already braking your race....
With hamilton racing for a championship, and starting 15th, and Vettel desperate to prove his worth, I predict a very entertaining race... Vettel blocking massa like a madaman, and hamilton trying to fly upi the field in t1... its gonna be a LFS T1! Mark my Wordzzz!
Oh noes!
that was freaking awesome.
I think most top teams decided to not go into q3 and be able to change the fuel/set of the car to match the conditions in the race.
Am I wrong, or are they allowed to changed tires before the race (those that got into q3)?
And setup? I believe they cant change it - so I'd guess thats the reasoning behind the "one car in q3, one car not".
Plus, the track got slower and slower from q1 through q3, which meant hamilton and his "I wont go out first" mania managed to stuff him really well. That and that stupid stupid pitstop...
if the great races under wet conditions on this season dont prove to the Fairly Intelligent Apes that the cars need their downforce cut by some 50%, nothing will...
Very good monitor, eclipses my Neovo F-417 and my hp1702.
I can see the lack of quality forbin ALWAYS says, but I cant really see the color degradation on the edges. The "lack of quality" is just BARELY noticable IF I press my nose to the screen, AND its a white-on-black-text screen.
Still MUCH better than my other 17'' lcds - THe only bad hting about it (the so-called lack of quality) stems from being a 22''screen with the same resolution of a 20'' screen (1600*1050) - so the pixels are bigger and farther apart. But if you dont sit with the screen on your lap, youll never notice.
I was also in that race. Finished last, but I was concentrating on SR not iRating.
I was the voice on the mic - the one that said "Less Blah Blah, more Vroom Vroom".
Your own fault, spankmeyer - if you see a crash.. slow down so you can avoid out of control cars.
Im guessing when you'r out on the motorway and a car in front of you spins you dont keep the pedal to the floor, aye?
I finally got the cash to buy the monitor (2kids,1dog, 2 cats.... money sometimes just *evaporates*)...
Thing is - yesterday I went to pick up a Samsung 225UW - they only had the display monitor. Different shop to pick up a cheap LG 225WS - Only had the display monitor. Another store to get the Samsung 225UW... ALSO ony had the display one.
So I try the Asus VW221D - AGAIN ONLY HAD THE DISPLAY ONE...
GAH.
After a fit of screaming (mainly me complaining on why put monitors there that they have no stock of, and no I dont want the 12h/day-same-image monitor that is on display unless its 50% off), I discovered 2 monitors that ARE in stock.
The Asus VW221D - though some 20kms away, it IS in stock at another store.
The LG 222WS - which is a LOT cheaper, at only 157€, versus the asus' 187€.
Dont really care about mathcing heigts - for example, remember that a 17'' CRT is roughly equal to a 15?'' LCD in size.
The left screen's top edge is lined with the center screen, but the bottom edge is about 1.5 inches higher - and the right screen's BOTTOM edge is 0.5 inches lower than the center one's and the top edge is about 1 inch lower. (both are 17'' though - LOL) Im used to non-matching screens
ON the other hand - a 20'' wide sceen with short bezels just next to the other 17'' inchers WOULD look great...
Heres what I want:
A new center screen for my triple screen setup.Currently I got (left to right) a 17''CRT, a 17''HP LCD (TN) and a 17'' Neovo LCD (crappy)
I want at least 22''.
It will be used mainly for gaming, some coding, playing movies.
I can see very clearly, so image quality IS important. However, I will be sitting quite far away, so...
Would like to spend as little as possible for the best possible.
No more (under no circumstances) than 500€, would MUCH rather have it in the 200-ish price range.
HP Pavillion W2207H 319€
LG-M228WD-BZ TV 399€ (this one can double as a TV, though)
Viewsonic VA2216W 182.12€
I also saw a huge beautifull 24'' samsung but its 475€
I also dont know (yet) which of those is DVI - it will be a make or break factor, as Im tired of using adpators, and DVI connections have better image(or so Im told) and should have faster refresh rates (this I know).
These are from the local shops - I COULD buy it from teh interwebs, but I'd have to pay to get it shipped here, and it would prolly be the same price.
As you can see, theres buttloads of them... what do I do?
EDIT: I just need the screen, dont need any of the "fluff" - speakers, webcams, USB hubs....
Apparently I have to drill some sense into some of the thick skulls over at iRacing, since everytime I say anything like "it needs yellow flags, it needs parts falling off cars, it needs more variety of cars" I get all the fanboys goin "oh this is great, it will be done eventually blahblahblah".
Jeez - it needs to be done NOW or else it will just be LFS-like with a few little improvements, and a FRIGGN HUGE EXPENSE.
bit too much?
If the size of the tire vs tire pressure is a known physics formula, the drag is another physics formula, how can it go WRONG?
if its wrong, its due to the tiresize vs tirePressure thing being wrong, which means the whole tire is modelled wrong - it is either too malleable or too little malleable.
physx was DOA (dead on arrival)
Simply cause the "very cpu intensive set of calculations" isnt THAT intensive at all.
Since we had multi-core CPUs, games use one of the cores for the physics.. and thats it. MOST of the game IS physics anyways (the set of physiscs of the game, that is) - and unless their cards are faster than the cpu.. its just not worth it.
Then came the multi-gpu grafics cards, and its basically an expensive card for something the CPU is doing anyways...
a way to do it (the cooling I mean) is to make a 120mm hole in the top, and 2 80mm (or 120 if the height of it allows) on the sides. Then mount fans on the OUTSIDE of it, with the sidefans blowing IN and the top fan blowing OUT.
With some care and imagination it can actually look good - but its a good way to cool it in such a small system.
