That's what I'm worried about. If the CPU isn't supported in the current BIOS version, there's no telling what will happen. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Can you try an older CPU? Or can you try removing some RAM and leaving just one stick in the motherboard?

What version of the BIOS in on the motherboard? F1, F2, or F3?

Quote from NewAssault :I suppose it is the correct ones :P

Never suppose. Open the device manager, look at your monitor's driver, and look at who made it. If it says microsoft then it's not the correct one. Get the driver from HP's web site.

Now, if you're really daring, you can unlock all resolutions by unchecking the box shown below. But, make sure you select the correct resolution after that, because if you choose a resolution that's too big you'll get a black screen. I suggest you get the correct driver before trying this method, you should never have to uncheck that box under normal circumstances.

What monitor and what video card? Does the monitor have the correct driver installed? Or does it just use the generic Microsoft driver?

Any beeping coming from it? Try removing some of the RAM and booting it again.

Honestly, I don't play LFS anymore either (lack of new stuff really). But I don't go around making threads about it.

Nathan, I strongly encourage you to keep these mods to yourself and not release them to the public. You may have good intentions, but other people don't, and these 'mods' are actually classified as hacks because they can give some people an unfair advantage. I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from with this. I do like it though, it's a cool idea.

Sorry, what were you expecting? That guy has only 1 post on this forum, which was made 2 years ago.

Very nice, but it's a rig not a ring.

Sure. First you need to have some programming knowledge, you need to write some sort of program to capture Outgauge packets from LFS (I used C# for that), extract the speed, revs, fuel, etc. from the packets, change each of those values into PWM values (0-255), then send those new values over the USB port to the microcontroller, write a program for the microcontroller to read data from the USB port and set the PWM values accordingly, and connect your gauges to the PWM ports on the microcontroller.

If you don't understand any of this then you should not be attempting to do this.

Do you really buy clothing on ebay? I mean, how do you know if it fits ok?

Must be a Finnish joke, I don't get it either.

You can use an Arduino microcontroller. I use one for my gauge, it's pretty easy to program it. I bought mine from robotshop.ca, but you might be better off buying one from europe to save on shipping.

Really? Maybe you should look again.

I don't see what's so special about the logitech profiler, I have a G25 and I play LFS without the profiler, and everything works perfectly.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :I know, but since Dan doesn't have a support contract with us I'm afraid we only offer non-contracted support as and when we have the time.

Now THAT was spoken like a true professional!

It's not worth it to upgrade such an old computer, just let it die and invest your money into a quad-core machine (or better).

You wouldn't gain any performance. I assume your hard drive is very old, and it slows down the system so much that any upgrades you make won't help loading times. Anyway, Xp 32-bit won't even recognize 4GB of ram, it will recognize somewhere between 3.25 to 3.5 GB. Honestly, 3GB is a good amount for XP, go for that if you can, anything more than that is a waste of money.

Even if you manage to augment the original sound files, wouldn't you hear the low frequency parts through your subwoofer? Well my subwoofer goes down to 36Hz, I guess anything lower than that won't come through.
