I think a jet-powered car speed record is useless. Cars don't have jets. That's the definition. What's the land speed record of a non-jet car? That might be more relevant.
The connection of the pedals to the PC is technically possible. They would be able to communicate. However, Windows has no way of recognizing the pedals, and has no idea of what to do with them. To get them to work you will have to write a driver for them, good luck with that.
Side note: I had the EXACT same wheel a long time ago (MadCatz) but it was for PC and connected to the game port. I did manage to use the pedals as clutch and handbrake, respectively, but i had to have both of my wheels connected to the PC, and both had to be recognized by the Gaming control panel in Windows.
If you want to see the windows drivers for the wheel I had go to MadCatz' site and download the drivers for Puma GT wheel. But obviously there's no way to connect your wheel to the computer directly, so they are pretty much just fyi.
This happens to me too; as I drive towards them they are bright red, and as I pass them they get dim. I actually like the effect, it's like headlights reflecting off those shiny leaves on the side of the road that warn you of a corner.
As much as I love Windows XP, I don't think any number of people can convince Microsoft to keep selling it as it is very old. With Vista out and Windows 7 coming in 2 years, there is no way they will keep selling XP. I say get your copy while you still can, or just pirate it after June 30 since Microsoft won't leave us with any other choice.
Some of you guys obviously didn't get the memo when Patch Y was released.
There's a reason that old setups weren't moved to the new setups directory when patch Y was released. That reason is because this clutch overhaul means you have to make new setups. Make a setup with a shorter 1st gear (higher ratio) and a higher final drive. Adjust all other gears correspondingly. It will make for a much easier start with no clutch overheating, because the clutch and flywheel will match speeds much quicker than before when you had a long 1st gear and a low final drive.
That 2nd picture reminds me of a picture of me and my sister from about 20 years ago when she was born. She was sleeping, and I was up looking at her, and we both looked about the same as in the picture. It's very nice. Congratulations!
I see something very obvious in those pictures: the shifter boot (gator.dds). Try experimenting with that texture! Make it blend in with the rest of the interior.
Don't give up though. Keep making interiors and you will get better at it. Start by making things just for yourself. You don't have to post anything until it's finished and you're satisfied with it.
I think there is a bit of inconsistency between LFS and Remote in the number of laps displayed for each racer. I've watched an entire race from start to finish, and it seems to me that Remote displays the number of laps each player has completed, whereas LFS displays the lap that the racer is on. In simple terms, LFS's lap counter starts at 1 and Remote's lap counter starts at 0. I just think they should both start at 1 for the sake of consistency.
Just a general question here, but you can still install 4GB of memory in a 32-bit system, can't you? I mean, it won't all be recognized by Windows, but won't all 4GB physically be in dual-channel mode?
Wow that takes me back... I was getting this problem on an ABIT motherboard about 7 years ago for some reason. I wish I could recall what I did to fix it, but I just can't remember. What I do know is that it has nothing to do with any USB devices though, which I know sounds very wierd, but it's just the last line in the POST. It hangs after it initializes USB controllers.
I think it's intended to be like that so that people don't cut the corner. But I think it would be more appropriate to have a really steep curb rather than such a trap.
