Never really understood the whole Arab Drift thing.
From what I have seen it is the art of killing yourself by hitting the only solid object for miles around side on, whilst taking a few spectators with you. Totally mindless, you'd think you could find some open areas in a place which is mostly desert...?
Good parenting that.... ''Don't worry son, you don't have to actually earn all the money yourself, we'll buy it for you...'' If that isn't spoiled, I don't know what is. You need to learn that you don't get respect from people round here by flaunting your new PC that you didn't even earn. Even then you aren't happy because you didn't get the quad, unbelievable!
The medicines part scared the crap out of me. I can just imagine the labels on the drugs you (apparently) dispensed:-
''Paracetamol, take 2 tablets every 4 hours. Unless you really want to feel better, then you can take as many as you want. Have some alcohol as well, nothing can possibly go wrong! It makes the pain go away 10x faster, innit...!''
My guess is that you wanted to make a version of the Top Gear track, and Sony bought the rights (hope not). Either that or you are making a Top Gear game?
Your ability to tantalise us without ever actually breaching your NDA is frankly, amazing. I hope that there is some meaty info on the horizon though, or you can expect a few community members to show up with pitchforks in hand...
Fair enough, but I feel that being reckless with personal information online warrants an arse kicking from the word go. You only need to slip up once to end up in a whole heap of merde.
I don't get it. You apparently train drivers to a level where they are being successful in motorsport, fair play. However, it seems that from comments here that you don't drive to such a standard yourself.
So with your logic then, you would only find one person in each server?
I can enjoy a race even if I lose an exciting battle on the last corner. The fun for me lies in the RACING, not winning at all costs.
In fact, I feel sorry for you if winning is the only way you can truely enjoy the game...
Also, surely the whole 'ballsy driving' idea can apply to both attack and defence. For example, say you try an aggressive move under braking on the inside into a corner, I can choose to do one of several things.
A. Think 'oh this guy is going to overtake me' and concede the corner. ie how you expect everyone else to act.
B. Hold my line and hope to keep or regain the position via getting on the power earlier.
C. Think 'I'm not going to let you get away with this', and block the line. Potentially causing an accident if one of us doesn't back off.
Now, if I was to be driving as aggressively as you, I would likely vote for option C. It simply doesn't work. If both drivers are overly aggressive the overtaking move will end in an accident in a high percentage of cases. (as you seem to be experiencing). There needs to be restraint shown on both sides.
BTW, reeling off a list of F1 drivers doesn't wash. These are extremely talented drivers and their limits as to what is acceptable differ widely to those of more unskilled drivers (ie, US). In F1 there will be unspoken rules as to what is acceptable between drivers, just as there are in LFS. The differences in these rules between them and us occur due to the major differences in talent. (and the wide range of talent found on the average LFS grid).
Paypal is a secure (if you're sensible) method of online payment. The account is attached to a credit or debit card and provides fraud protection when making online transaction, mainly because it involves using a username and password, and not your card number.
From the Paypal site you only release a set (predetermined) amount from your bank account into your Paypal account, and you can see previous payments into and out of Paypal.
If your Paypal account has a positive balance (ie, someone has paid you on ebay), you then transfer this balance back to your bank account, which can take a day or so to clear.
I'm not aware that Paypal charge for the service, but there may be a small charge per transaction, TBH I haven't noticed.
If you do use Paypal, beware of getting emails that ask you to give your full username and password, as this info will never be asked for by Paypal staff.
IMO its fantastic so far. The UI is a little rough at the moment, and the vehicles overpowered, but everything else is just great. The graphics are really nice and run much smoother than I expected, and the gameplay is as addictive as ever.
As I see it, the gameplay is a perfect balance between UT classic and 2K4. It has responsive movement, well balanced weapons, and I feel it should keep fans in both camps happy.
Once the bugs are ironed out, this should be an essential FPS.
