Quote from Bob Smith :Dean and I are looking for a third driver to join our team and be crap with us. We don't want showing up now. If you think you fit the bill, grab the hot seat before it goes!

What? Are people forming teams already?

I already told you I like this movie Jens, but I noticed that even if the footage is nice, the XFGs in the very first scene move rather jerky because of lag. Perhaps you should be more careful when selecting the initial clips since they (not surprisingly) give the first impression of the movie.

Luckily the other clips were helluva lot better!

Thanks for the kudos and see you on track again soon!

Quote from [SWE]RE :I did check the iTCC replays, but for some reason no skins were loaded resulting in all those cars being entirely white, which isn't fun to use in a vid. It's strange, I loaded the replay, but never got asked to download the skins even though I have "Ask" in settings regarding skins being downloaded.

Cheers guys, will look into those links/subforums you mentioned.

That's a bug. The replay must have been saved server-side.

Quote from Scawen :[ I'm looking at the small bug reports because there are a few now and I'd like to do a small test patch update ]

I suppose it's hard for anyone to know exactly what qualifies as a small bug in this case, but here's a shot:

When watching a replay that was saved server-side on a dedicated server (ie with the /save_mpr command or if autosave= was set to "2" in the server config) the skins will not be downloaded by the client. Regardless of what "download skins for replays" is set to LFS will just display "Can't load skin : [...]". This includes both car and helmet skins.

As far as I know the bug is easily reproducible. Just grab any replay that was saved on a dedicated server.

Example of mpr saved with the /save_mpr command.
Example of autosaved mpr.

Edit: Both replays were saved by a server running Z9.

Quote from danthebangerboy :
I may be able to get Felplacerad as well, but it depends if im in the rover or the mx5, as the rover isn't gonna last much longer,my poor gearbox is ready to wave a cheery goodbye any day now, and my mate is still arsing about looking for a new car, which i need him to do so i can buy his current one.

Any news?

Edit: Dan, thanks for considering taking me but everything is now sorted!

See you there!

Quote from felplacerad :The [admin=] line is probably commented:

//Like this. This is a comment. The line is actually commented by default. You must remove one of the slashes to uncomment it.

Ie: Make sure the line says /admin=mypass and not //admin=mypass

Then you should be able to connect to the server as an admin by entering the admin password in the password field.

If you are using Firefox Adblock Plus might be of interest. Not only does it block your every day ads, it also blocks ads embedded in flash applets.

A second alternative would be to use older versions of the software that do not come with such silly restrictions. What you want is Ventrilo Server v2.1.2 and Ventrilo Client v2.1.4.

Quote from Kristjan.J :There were that picture competition some time ago for the new menu picture if I remember right and people were able to enter pictures there.

Um. No, there has not been such a competition. The background image that we can see today was just something Scawen threw in there at some point. It will be changed eventually.

Right,

I've been looking up flight prices and unfortunately going to either Bristol or Cordiff is absolutely out of the question. The cheapest round trip is $400.

Flying from Gothenburg to Stansted seems to be a much better alternative, but then I'd obviously have to travel to Abergavenny by train. The train tickets aren't unreasonably pricey (~35) but the departure and arrival times appear to be tricky to match with the event and the flights. At least from/to Abergavenny.

I'm going look further into the alternatives. But before I do, I'm curious: Is anyone going to go past/near Stansted/London by any chance?

Alright, the qualification starts in 15 minutes! We will now password-protect the server (see first post of this thread). Again, feel free to join anytime before or during the qual, but do not join after 20:30.

The server will be re-opened for some more pick-up racing when the event is over!

All right, boyos - Some important info:

The qualification begins in about 26 hours, by then the server will be password protected (the password will be posted in the first post of this thread). You may join the server at any time before or during the the qualifying but please do not join mid race (after 20:30 CET). A few of us will be online a couple of hours before the event for some testing and pick-up racing!

Also, we've decided to punish the LX4 drivers with a penalty weight of 60 kilograms. That should make for some good racing.

See you all tomorrow!

PS.

Don't worry if you can not make it to this event, it is very likely that we'll organize similar events in the future.

Link doesn't work for me.

Yep I was 2nd! (But I got the fastest lap so I'm still happy!)

The link is right but the server seems to be down ATM. It's not mine though so we'll just have to wait.

Well, the LX4 does have a much lower top speed than the TBO. It's in the cornering and acceleration it has i's advantages.

But still, 5% might be a tad too much. I'll think about it. Let me know if you come up with something clever.

Edit: Perhaps the the weight penalty suggested by EliteAti would be a better idea. Will have to do some more pondering and testing!

Edit 2: Yeah, thinking about it, I think a weight penalty for the LX4 would be better since we don't want to make it even slower down the straights. This is based on the assumption that an intake restriction has a harder impact on the top speed than a weight penalty does.

Quote from JackDaMaster :Any restrictions gonna be placed on the FXO and/or the LX4?

That might be a good idea!
3% appears to be the norm for FXO but I have no idea about the LX4. 5%?

Quote from Kristjan.J :Wasn't the birthday some time ago already?

Well, to be honest we're not exactly sure when the team was formed. I've found screen shots with FLP content dating back to April 2006 ... But the team's existence was officially announced on the third of June, 2006.

However, Jens released the 3-year anniversary movie already in March, thinking that our birthday was in April. That's probably why it might appear as if our birthday was some time ago.

Thanks for all the kudos, by the way! We're overwhelmed, really!
