just an idea that i stumbled upon when falling asleep yesterday regarding the automatic update thingy> what if someone does not want to download test patches in the future (not me, i always have the latest one )? i thought that there could be an yes/no option in the menu, that would only download "letter-only" patches not the numbered ones...
edit> did not read the newest posts... mentioned already...
so i made a better photo of the curbs... i imagine that in LFS the curbs are like this, but only a half of these, mirrored, so that its possible to drive over them in both directions...
good work with the patches Scawen!
one thing tho: i noticed that there is now a "curb" sound when you drive over them with loaded wheels (lx4 at least), but they are way too quiet...
see this vid, at 1.30 i go over vallelunga type curbs (couldn't find a better pic, can make one tomorrow, but seems to me that almost every curb in LFS is of this type (maybe not that 'sharp')) with the loaded wheels and the sound is very loud (sorry for the crappy quality, but is was taken with a camera in a mobile phone and that the A/C was on full because the car was standing in the sun the whole afternoon on a hot summer day, but for the example how loud the curb sound shoud be I think it's enough, louder than the skid sound from the tyres...)
please how to unban somebody on a demo server if I don't have acces to the bans file? /unban nick or /unban IPaddress does not work...
could it be possible to implement a command for removing all bans from a server?
p.s. dunno if the thread would not be more suited to the Bugs or Improvement suggestions subforums... If the mods feel like moving it anywhere, please do so...
I would say "yes", but it does not come from the developers, but from the community. You don't need a true advertisement that you have to pay for. A review in gaming and tuning magazines is much better. In the czech community we had LFS reviews in 2 of 3 gaming magazines, a shorter version in a few online magazines and in december a article in Tuning Magazine and a magazine for men is coming out. Except one, everything came from the community. You only have to tell them you have a great thing for them to write about.
Another way of advertisement is to tell everyone you know about the sim, put stickers where applicable. It did not take much talking and we managed to get LFS into real racing > photo The only costs for getting LFS there were to print out the logo.
So LFS does Advertise, but it's everybody, who has to put his hands into it!
I have been asking for this since S1... but still is the damn fwd faster... easiest car to drive and its the fastest of the three... that is just not fair...
Edit> link to the first time (24-01-2004) and second time (31-03-2006) I mentioned this...
if you are going to use the simulator for commercial use, then you have to get a commercial license... ask the devs directly on this via the contact form on the main website...
well not all the magic... we would know that something is coming, but nobody would know what... i think everybody knows they will get some presents for xmas, but the magic is discovering what exactly you get
and I'm not asking the devs to tell us what will we get, only if we will get something
Will there be one? Devs, please tell us, so we have something to look forward
I'm not asking for any further details and not even the release date (must not be on X-Mas exactly)... Just a simple yes/no answer will do or just a hint that something simillar is coming
Thanks!
I got the same crackling or chirping problem as Warper... imo it comes from the wind sound... revs have nothing to do with it... got the same directX, but different "sound card"
tried moving the "hw acceleration slider" with no effect...
In reaction to translated (thx to DoN) Scawen's 1st post the slovakian simracer magorik said in shoutbox "magorik - 17.10.2006 17:37:34
ja som to aj tak chapal ( takze tu nemame gamesu co za 2 roky padne do zabudnutia ale mame tu generacny projekt :-)
live for ever (eee... speed) :-)"
which stands for: "i thought the same ( so we don't have a game that gets forgotten in 2 years, but a generation project :-)"
