Quote from richy :does it affect braking in a straight line at all? would i lock up at a brake point where i would normally be ok?

it affects the overall grip the tyre has, so yes, it also affects braking in a straight line...

Quote from Vain :Let the S1-people come to the S2-servers, okay. But please don't let the demo-people into the S2-servers. I like blackwood and I like slower cars, but I don't like demo-crashers.

Vain

This is where I would like to be able to change the thread name... It was mentioned before > leave the demo as it is, only merge S1/S2...
(moderator contacted...)

Quote from AndroidXP :In that case you have to ask a moderator. If they allowed changing thread names without limit, everything would just get really confusing, same as if they allowed changing user names. This is just a no-no and will never happen.

I dunno, the thread starter can change the name in the czech lfs forum and in over 2 years of existence I have never seen this behaviour that you are afraid of...

Well sometimes things come up that deserve the thread name to be changed... Like my thread with removing the demo/s1/s2 separation, which after some debate I would like to be changed only to removing the s1/s2 separation... this is not a change to be made in 5 minutes...
Let the Thread starter change the thread name

Why should we bother the moderators with this, when the thread starter (in a way owner of the thread) could do it by himself...

(Or I'm blind and can't see the thread name edit link)

Quote from ORION :works for me - patch Q

Maybe it only works if you have recorded the replay? test it guys

yup it works, in replays you have recorded, but not in replays from others...

Could please one of the moderatros change the name of this thread to: LFS nick visible in mpr replays saved by others

EDIT: ok bite me, today it works with all replays...:banghead:

wheels view a "hack"? It does not make you faster, I know that Jet_ cze does use the cockpit view (seen him drive with my own eyes) and he has some WRs (FZ GTR @ AS National for example)...

So it really does not matter which view you use... It's only about getting used to it...

Yup, the first 4 sound good...

hmm, then this is wierd... online it works, in replays it does not...

ok, not an improvement suggestion, but some kind of a glitch on my side...

Title says it all... the combo that works when online (ctrl + shift) does not work when viewing replays saved by others (it works only when you save the replay)...

I run a league where we managed to get everyone to use their real names (with a few real looking pseudonyms) to make the league look more like the real thing and now when watching a replay I can't see the racer's LFS nicks, when I need to know who it is...

Just for the curious, here is the thread about rFactor's "gravity"

I don't know, but I think that this is already implemented... Thought I saw some message saying this, but it's a long time...

But if not, then a good suggestion

both have been suggested before...
the first one i think was suggested with replay rewind

well scrape off the rubber and viola, the car is 10 kgs lighter

{just a joke... don't know if it works this way, but it surely makes the diameter of the tyre smaller}

Quote from Gentlefoot :And the thing is, it just came to me - I wasn't even trying to set fast laps - just wanted to stay clean and win the race.

I know this very well.. usually the harder you try, the more upset you get and the times just don't come... the next day a race at the track, and viola, not knowing how, the time is there...

A simmilar thing is when setting pb's. After some time I get to some time, two weeks pass, still the same time and then on one occasion i drive a better time and continue driving such times, not knowing where the error was in the past 2 weeks...

and yes, i guess i'm one of those little green men... but we come in peace!

LOL, reminds me of S1 times, when the MRT5 was the fastest car everywhere, execept for blackwood, where a skilled driver could win with the LX6, I still have a set that has the ratios so, that you can race normally, but it has a long reverse gear and the lx6 goes 180km/h backwards... i usually drove the back straight after the start backwards, losing time doing a 180° but then overtaking the MRT5s afterwards

I organise the Czech LFS league and faced the same problem way back in the beginnings... I solved it by renaming the files to

SROC_d1_z2_race1.mpr

name of the league (first letters)_division#_event#_qual(superpole/race1/race2).mpr

this way the replays are neatly sorted by names and I can quickly find the replay I need...

Quote from tristancliffe :Whilst watching said replay, just before the lap that interests you, choose "Save RAF File" from the menu. Then, after the lap, look in the raf folder.

+ works only with single player replays..

Quote from Eldanor :I think it would be easier if the wheels were pre-warmed, at least for the slick cars. What the hell, in hotlap sessions the wheels should be pre warmed in every car, maybe with an option to turn off for extremely purist ones. IMHO

This has been suggested before and it was found that the best way is to start from the pits... You then have the whole track for warming up the tyres...
