I know this very well.. usually the harder you try, the more upset you get and the times just don't come... the next day a race at the track, and viola, not knowing how, the time is there...
A simmilar thing is when setting pb's. After some time I get to some time, two weeks pass, still the same time and then on one occasion i drive a better time and continue driving such times, not knowing where the error was in the past 2 weeks...
and yes, i guess i'm one of those little green men... but we come in peace!
LOL, reminds me of S1 times, when the MRT5 was the fastest car everywhere, execept for blackwood, where a skilled driver could win with the LX6, I still have a set that has the ratios so, that you can race normally, but it has a long reverse gear and the lx6 goes 180km/h backwards... i usually drove the back straight after the start backwards, losing time doing a 180° but then overtaking the MRT5s afterwards
This has been suggested before and it was found that the best way is to start from the pits... You then have the whole track for warming up the tyres...
well if you had read the article on lfs news, you would know that it was a bigger event, with a vernissage, bodypainting show and more...
25 LFSers were there + about 50 other people...
One thing when learning to drive fast is the order of importance.
1. The most important thing, alfa&omega of racing, is the racing line. First learn the line by driving slowly on the track. Look at the WR replays if you can't figure out the line by yourself. Everytime try to use the whole width of the track and what is also important, be smooth with the steering (and gas/brake)
2. Getting on the gas. After you can get your line right, learn when (just at the apex or a bit after) and how quickly to apply gas so that you stay on the racing line. The saying "Slow in, Fast out" comes here. It's much better to brake early and get the line right than trying to brake late and overshooting the corner. This is safest way to get some nice times, even when you don't know the track 100%
3. Get the braking right. Why braking 3rd? Because when you brake, you gain time only on say 200m of braking. Coming out fast of a corner gains you time the whole straight following the corner, up to the braking point for the next one.
What about asking (or searching, cause it has been asked a few times already) in the czech forum eh? Usually it takes 2-3 days until the money appears on the account (inter bank transfer). The guy in charge sends the vouchers as soon as he sees the money has arrived...
What about a option to have the MPRs smoothed out when played? I imagine it could be just a math routine that would smooth out the lines the cars take, so we would not see them "jump". It would be nice for making vids and when showing LFS to someone... (difficult to answer when the guy asks why the cars jump...)
And leave it as an option because of leagues and appeals, where the admins need to see wheter it was a lag or something else...
