Quote from danowat :@aoun, are you a hairdresser?

LOL, you are a cruel lot.

I have a 'R' reg MG-F that I got for a steal at a local car auction (£950 with 36k miles on the clock ), even though it is British Racing Green I still feel a bit gay in it TBH . fab fun in the summer around the country roads up here though.

I have not driven an MX-5 myself but apparently it is the one to get in the class. But hey the fact that you know the cars history is a massive plus point. Go for it mate I'm sure you will enjoy the trouble free motoring.

Quote from Shotglass :add me to the new group
thing is unless anything goes extremely wrong ill finish uni this june and dont really know what august will look like for me plus its a long trip and i havent really worked out how to either get to frankfurt or from london to newcastle

Drive to Amsterdam and get the ferry to Newcastle, I have done the Amsterdam/Newcastle ferry trip before, it is like a mini cruise with a real party atmosphere onboard....can be a nightmare if you get seasick though as the North Sea can be very unforgiving. It should be calm in August (aye right :tilt.

Or you could get the train? Or are there any inexpensive flights from Frankfurt to Newcastle direct? I could easily pick you up at the airport, ferryport or train station

Are you the father Dru? He'll be after some maintenance payments you know! Someone has to cover the cost of the babysiters when he's playing LFS .

It's funny looking at this old thread and seeing how much the team has changed in a year, I think the average age of the team must have gone up 25 years

@ Dru
Well I for one have not entered thinking I am going to win anything, I am joining for the experience and fun. Also there will be less chance of people dropping out if they have paid a small entrance fee?.
You are right live streaming or commentary does not affect the drivers involved, I'm sure if there was no commentary or televised F1, Indy FIA GT, BTCC or whatever it would have no affect on the drivers either
Also thinking about the STCC, this became very popular due to the Production by Becky, tristan and co. I see the eTM as being similar.
Anyway I guess it is, as always, up to each individual to choose what they want to do.

@Soeren,

Personally I see no problem with this, for example we have always foreign drivers competing in the BTCC. Kris Nissen was Danish and competed in the BTCC in 1992. Not up to me though

I see your point Dru, but having followed the International eTM with its live streaming, quality commentary, some of the fastest LFS drivers entered, prizes etc. I also believe that the UK/Eire league could turn out be top notch also, this of course it not fact just my opinion . for the cost of a couple of pints, or a mouthfull of beer if you live in Norway....

I have configured a forced cockpit view server for AS5, please feel free to use it [HR] AlienT. is its name . Remember auto clutch has to enabled for the UK eTM races.

I'll try and get Starblue's tracker integrated with the server, if I can figure out how??

If the start date could be put back one week I will enter this, (all work and no play makes me a miserable bastard....my course can take a back seat a couple of nights week, what the heck). Could that be possible with the organisers and people that have already signed up to put the start date back?

I am not fast at all but am probably ok not to embarrass myself too much The FZR is my favourite car and the forced cockpit view suits nicely.

Edit:have now signed up

Happy birthday Core . I wonder what the oldest still active LFS team is?

I would suggest that the difference is so slight that it makes little difference, depends on your speed through the curve and how your running the rest of the track. Wish I could get even close to a WR

Got to laugh at this...you can tell most LFS players don't get their leg over that often.....

Default cockpit view for me, LFS and GTL are the only sims I use that the cockpit view is not a hinderance, all other sims I tend to have use Bonnet/Hood view unfortunately.

Anyone else agree that the cockpit view in LFS is superior to most other sims, stupid asking this in here I know

Quote from Storm_Cloud :After having a great time in IGTC yesterday I will have a test at Aston tonight and if I get a feeling for it I will enter.

However, I am concerned about the lack of entries. Maybe to create some interest make the first season free. Drop the entry fee, drop the prizes and the entry to the International League. Just run the UK league separately and bring it together the following season when people have driven in it and the series has momentum.

Stormy are you sure mate?.....remember the GTR cars have a roof on them, you may get claustrophobic and suffer panic attacks

On a serious note, go for it mate i'm pretty darned sure you could do well

You guys are just not very nice, the OP is obviously new and has now learned the hard way.....give people a break, sometimes doing a search on the forum to find what you're after is not the easiest of tasks with the rediculous number of threads/posts that the serach delivers back to you. I get the impression that some folks only like to post when they see some poor sod/drifter/cruiser/newplayer/gay/loner/Englishman/ starting a thread that you can see from the outset is cringworthy.

Get of the forum ya sad lot and get online for a race....funny I don't see a lot of you 'jump on the bandwagon' sorts ever online racing.

Oh and this is not a dig at this thread in particular...just in general.

I'm really surprised that people do not seem interested in this . It seems like a top event.....jees even my young hero Scots alien little git bawbag races in the e-sports events along with some other amazingly quick fellows.

I would really like to join the UK/Eire league but due to me being a complete arse and starting a distance learning MSC at 41 years of friggin age I have no time to practise......damn it's been a long time since I did any studying oh why oh why did I talk myself into this?.....meh I'll put it down to midlife crisis

Also try GT Legends, GTR2 or Race07....ok the physics is not as 'real' as LFS, neither is the pick up online racing that great..... but GT Legends in particular is bloody marvelous with all the old cars.

When I get bored with LFS (very rarely), I whizz about Donington in my 1965 Mustang, usually getting gubbed by Lotus Cortinas and Alfa GTA's.

Try Sold Out software for some very cheap sims and other games http://www.sold-out.co.uk, I picked up RBR for £4.99

Got S2 back in March last year after playing the demo for about 20 minutes, LFS really took my breath away with the online play (ahem racing). Now I've done 54,000 online miles That is probably far too much in a year, especially as I am still useless
