Hehe! Come on Boris don't you realise a good simulation when you see one?

That's it I'm cancelling my iRacing account for something far more fun!

Oh hello Deadwolfbones, long time no see.

Yep sorry, I had to scroll to the top to remind myself of what the topic was!

I've been out of the LFS scene for a while now, although LFS is and always will be beloved to me, it just does not tick the right boxes any more unfortunately. I'm sorry to hear about the so called wreckfests and (to be quite frank) totally imature behaviour on the forums etc.

It is no surprise that decent servers have gone to password protection. Lets face it if your seriously interested then you will make th effort to obtain the password. Good racing will always be had by thise who make the effort.

As an old codger, growng up before the crazy rapid development of software, things were............ ,i a be rsd ;

Quote from z-ro 8 :of course. eating us out of house and home already......

Not to worry mate it will only get worse :something

Spoken from a poor chap with a 15 year old daughter with a severe attitude (like her mother) and a wee lad boy of 7.

I tell ya it's worse than trying to keep control of Gills!

Quote from exzeh :Man, anyone have an idea where I can get a cheap one just under 120-115 pounds?? I'm searching all over the place and the G25 is over like 150-250 pounds, so I'm like I might aswell get a G27 if it costs that much.

A used but perfect condition/never used/only once/twice please tell me where to find it.

Thanks
Regards, Exzeh

Theres usually a few used G25's come up on http://www.nogripracing.com forum 'trading post'

I hear what your saying. For example GTR2 has everything you mention there , and it works well. God damn that is a fun sim at a very low cost racing against AI. Racing a full season on 100% in sim mode is a very good test of driving ability.

LFS is LFS don't even need to really mention it!

For me, The FFB and feeling you get with the iRacing cars is , for me, second to none.

The racing atmosphere and excitement in iRacing is pretty non existent in the races or practice, they need to sort this out...somehow...how?...I ahve no idea unfortunately!

Oh come on, most everyone would not even realise that a tyre physics change would make any difference. If I tell you it's real it's real right???

Lets face it, it's all about the fun racing and/or community that goes with it.

I am too looking forward to the next update...but..be real guys it's surely not going to make you orgasm and put any other game pretending to be a race simulator out of fashion for morethan a couple of days>

At ther end of the day we all want better, we all want updates... we all want everything!

When we have everything then we're ****ed!

That looks a nice Danish skin there Richard, very distinctive and not messy as many skins tend to be.

We'll need to get our RSR skins sorted out.

Unfortunately my artistic endeavour is more in the Tracey Emin mold. I too have messed up my bedroom whilst pissed.

Niels if your reading this thread and are bored....we know how you like skinning mate

Quote from Kid222 :Bah, i finished behind you yesterday in Radical. By 0,097s.

Hehe! I remember you well. My front left tyre was gone and was really struggling to hold it together on that last lap. I could see you catching me quickly there mate, no way was I letting you past....good fun though and I had to prize (unsticky) my fingers off the wheel after that race

Good stuff Keith, I hope you enjoy it. Remember to come and say hello in the Celtic club forum. We need all the help we can get to wrestle the Western European chamionship from the dastardly English :P

Oh and I'm Struan Robertson btw.

Yep the trucks are at Daytona. I might have a bash (probably literally) in them tonight as well.

I take it, due to the snow, you didn't make it to Dens Park this weekend Mackie or are you a die hard and sledged down there It was a good result for Ross County.

Nice one SilverArrow.

I thought I would try some oval this season after quite enjoying the world cup play offs, having been threatened at gun point and forced to drive the COT by our Celtic team boss! That barstuard Crozier owes me lol

First two races at Daytona in the COT were a disaster. Not a good idea! I really can hardly believe that people, 'A' class drivers if you will, cannot run a two turn track without causing mayhem. You don't even have to brake at any part of the track for crying out loud! whinge, whinge, cry, cry

Then I thought I'll give the Late Model a go. Numpty that I am did not put enough fuel in and had to stop for fuel! Still somehow managed second place though. Late model is actually a very good car to drive, certainly my favourite oval car.

Well I fell asleep and missed the Rolex race, love that combo as well

Andy did you race this? How did you get on.

Don't know how but I've been talked into running the COT in the run-offs . I smell disaster.

Not to worry our secret weapon has arrived to bail us celts out, great stuff Ray.

Well my wife got me the Susan Boyle CD , some Armani boxers, that was ruined when she said I look absolutely nothing like the guy on tha packaging wearing them . A rather nice Wallet. My daughter got me a bottle of Famous Grouse Whisky with the name changed to Famous Dad and my name scribed onto the bottle.

Also got Sim socks and some Audio FX 5.1 Pro headset but neither have arrived yet.

My little boy has quite bad learning difficulties, to see his face this morning was the highlight of my year

Now where did I lay that whisky......!

Hppy Christmas everyone.

I'll bet you that Moose has NkPro tattoed on his arse .

Although this thread has ventured of topic and back again, it is good to listen to the old timers opinions. Keep it up ya miserable old sods.

At the end of the day the fact that we can race each other online is absolutely fantastic, lets not forget that. 15 years ago that would have been an impossible dream.

Theres a bit of info on the upcoming plans here Ant.

http://www.inracingnews.com/ir ... -cat-herder-is-all-about/

We are working on a more realistic transmission model and updating as many cars as we can with a new aero model and a tweak to the tires similar to what we did on the IndyCar, ‘Vette and Star Mazda last season.
One project that is a much longer term project is we are going to replace our sound engine with a new one. This may not even make it into the build after next but we will have a much-improved system released in the next six-eight months.
Dave continues to work on a new tire model, some of which may make this next build but the more significant changes are still a ways away.

For a game that was originally released in 2003, or whatever, the very fact that we are all still here is a damned fine achievement in itself I think.

I really can't think of many, or even any, games of that age that have the following that LFS does at present.

From my own experience with LFS, when I first tried it in the beginning of 2007 I was dumbfounded with it and couldn't believe how good the online racing was. Now nearly 3 years down the line I rarely even play it anymore as I've moved on to other things. No doubt i'll be bored with them in another couple of years and move on to something else. I guess that's just the way it goes.

The fact that there are people here that have been around since 2003 is something for LFS team and the community as a whole to be proud of.

Oh and no doubt I'll get crucified for mentioning CTRA, but I do believe a system similar to CTRA would make a huge difference, if it was in-built into LFS by the developers. It would take something like that to get me back interested in LFS.

That is hopefully a mistake. If they are trying to rip off unsuspecting parents and grandmas during the Xmas period I will never buy anything from them again.

You lot are a bunch of spoiled barstuards...

Get a job in't mines you lazy gits!

In all seriousness, most kids these days, from what I see anyway, must find it hard to understand poverty and what it is like to struggle financially.

My daughter, who I forced to get a job at the local garden center, has blown a shit load of her money on perfume for her mother. The little sod has no intention of getting me the G27 that I wanted....shoot them I say!
