The Fern bay-green course/ FOX formula car combo has a bug

It's simply Too Much fun!

I don't know why, but next to BL reverse, this is now my second favourite course.

EDIT: thread moved and [ ] tag added by mod... wasn't there at first.

just how I came to be around cars... maybe I'll post it later?

Ah, blast... so that's where my long lost twin brother went? Hey dude! how is it going over
there? I'm doing good myself, and seem to have the same "problem"... But mine is worse...
I love RX-7's! (can you say "KA ****ING BOOM" ? )

I'm 17, and actualy had this passion since I first learned to drive on a LADA with the "Suicide
clutch system"(at the ripe age of six) My first father took me go kating, an after I completely
smoked everyone with no prior experience, he decided to teach me how to drive!
Well, lets say that my mother's Huindai has officialy been "trained and durability tested" :bananadea

I live in IL, and have had my license for a while, went to some auto X events, but haven't gotten the chance to get my car yet, which I'm planning to be an N/A FC3S btw.

EDIT: also, I never realy fit in either, people would think I'm wierd and not want to talk to me...
School sucks, for the most part, I get ok marks, but it's boring... and when I did try to start something with a girl, she said "she doesn't feel like she's ready for a relationship at the moment".

So, yeah, I bought S2 and a DFP for the summer.... lol.

Help with FX5200 drivers?
Mako.

Hello. I just reinstalled my drivers, becasue of a glitch, and it fixed it... but...

I have a not-so-up-to-date computer, with: AMD Athlon 1.3GHz, 1GB DDR RAM, nForce2 motherboard, and a NVidia 5200FX gfx card,150GB HD, DVD+/RW drive, 15" LCD, 2.1 "surround" with a great sub. and I'm not that crazy about having the latest stuff, and It does what I want beautifuly, so I have no complaints. )

Anyway, backto my point. At the nvidia page, they said that the last and latest 5200FX driver from them came out in '04, and the latest nforce driver somewhere in late '06. I was wondering if there were any newer gfx drivers out there that would be/ work better than the official ones from the site?
Thanks for the help, I searched, but could not find the info I needed.

Quote from Forbin :Under normal racing conditions, the friction of the wheel bearings is not a significant factor. The rolling resistance of the tires alone completely overpowers it, as does the drag on the car body. It should only really be an issue if the bearing is damaged.

he never said anything about bearings... just to let you know.

Hmm, well, remember how blackwood used to have a horrible section for turn 2, back in S1? Maybe this will get added to the final S2 version, who knows?

EDIT: do I also spy an off-camber turn on the far end? THAT would make for some challenging racing right there!

Quote from (-Mark-) :I wouldnt mind a little celebration, like in a Open wheeler, but not a 'f**k you'...

Funny you say that... I remember watching an F1 race on the telly back in the nineties as a little kid... and as Schumacher passed some dude who was being an ****, he stuck his hand out and gave him the "one finger salute".

The commentator was in awe: "What a beatiful overtake... ooh, there goes the "flyin bird." *background laughs*

Yellow... good color, eh?

Well, looks like we have aonther member finaly coming on board! I've played the demo a bit with a PS2 controller, and have imporoved a lot, but have always hated how jittery the steering is with the analog stick. I'e gotten a 1.36.00 with the XFG on BW-GP forward, and a 1.41.00 with the XRG on BW reverse so far. But after a while, demo status got to me, an I got fed up with the "sticks" so I stopped playing.

I have decided to finaly get S2 and a DPF, and get more into LFS. I was going to shell out $200 on my bike, and get back into riding bmx, but now that I think about it, I have $410.00 USD saved up for a car(I'm getting another job soon and saving 2 grand) and a DPF is around $50 on ebay now, so I would spend less and still have something to do during the summer that I find interesting... too hot to ride anyway.

There IS a bit of a problem I'm concerned about through. I've read, that with full 900 degrees of rotation, the wheel does not return to the center (barely). I have always liked that when driving a car, it does that, so I was wonering if there are some settings, so i dont have to wind it back for it, and it can do so itself...

I'm currently thinking 500/ 500 rotation, 120 force, etc. I have seen someone say something about settin the "wheel return" setting at zero being desirable, but wouldn't this actualy contribute to the problem? Searching has only given me limited answers. Anway, getting everything on monday(hopefully), so see you guys at the circuits.

I know this thread is old as FAWK.. but I have a question/ input.

What about Power Steering in 80% of steet cars? (ie: Fairlady Z, rx-8, mx-5 miata, etc. ?)

Do games have power steering accounted for in the Force feedback? The reason this stuff may feel weird is becasue of a screwup in the program regarding this fact.... Does that sort of make sense?

That's why I want to see a 'Ring-track in LFS.

but withought the walls that are on the ring... and a bit wider.. like model it as a 2 lane road...

ok, kid.. just tell her that it's your f'ing monney, so she should just STFU and buy it! Tell her that you earned it, and it's your descision on what it gets spent on. (well, that is if you realy did earn it yourself...)

I would be PISSED if my parents did that when I was little. They only did if I wanted THEM to pay for something, which, compared to your situation, is reasonable.

Oh, and dont get pissed at your parents too much, you will be one too some day, you know?

Quote from Crashgate3 :I was rubbish when I started. I'm still probably fairly rubbish now...

The STCC Bronze servers are a great place to start. Lots of people of a beginner to moderate skill, and people are *fairly* considerate if you accidentally cause a pile-up. An *accidental* one, mind...

As for the wheel, if you can't afford a G25, get the DFP - easily the best cheap wheel available: http://www.darkplanets.co.uk/p ... ech-driving-force-pro.asp

Its intended for the PS2, but as its USB works perfectly on the PC using the software for the MOMO wheel.

oh yeah? Dude, I'm using that Ghey logitech game pad to play the demo atm, not enough $$$ for the wheel/ S2. BUT, even with only a controller, it's still realy fun... i can only imagine how nice LFS can be with a proper gaming rig, g25, and on an s2 track...

thing is... its not even the poly of it that so bad, but rather the horrid shape that reminds me of a half eaten bananna, LMAO.

As for time to actualy look at it... well, you dont "race" race the whole time, do ya? I mess around with stuff after the race.

Quote from Moonclaw :Solution is clear as ever, banish LFS because it is being used for drifting.

I get the joke.. but.. what's with hating on a driving techinque? I mean seriously,
I never treated the term "Drift" as a fad, created by some lame-ass movie...

But rather as a faster way to get around "some" corners, in "some" cars...
so what if it just so happens, that it looks nice too?
Ditch The Knob?

Yes, i dont know just how many times people have probably asked for it,
but if it's not even moving, can we please, at least get a decent looking shifter? Its current shape(notice: same on all cars) and size of the shifter boot are just uglier than sin! Is it real hard to make it a bit smaller, round (not banana shape, hehe) and look nicer? I'm surpirzed it hasn't changed since the S1 version of LFS.

HINT: Scawen, add this as a fix for the next update, yo.

Thanks in advance if anyone has a mod for this.
