Guys, no "look back" features work in chase view (outside car).
"R" and Shift+M (mirrors) does not work in chase view.
I've seen before the Devs mention that the chase view isn't designed for racing with so I don't think they will ever include mirrors/look back to chase view.
Here is a work around for that until that is clarified.....
Correct me if I am wrong, but it is being released at the same price the G25 is at now? 300 euros correct?
So if it's the same price for either, what incentive is to get the G25? It would _have_ to be lower price yeah?
And FWIW, as of now I won't get a G27 if I ever need a new one, most likely I'll get a cheaper G25 and mod it to have a stiffer shifter. The ability to switch seq/h-gate far outweighs any improvements they have added for me.
Maybe someone will invent a MOD to add a seq mode into the shifter module.
Most likely cause of that is rotation momentum. It starts turning so it takes more to stop it. Also you can't feel the car rotating physically so there is a hidden surprise to what is going on.
This thread is about as ironic as youtube commenters saying the vid poster has no life, yet their life consists of sitting on the internet insulting others?
Congrats on a big milestone. The car service is free at 1,000,000 kms right?
There is a new version (test version) called Z15. It has bugs and new things like you requested, you can even test it to help out the devs. by reporting new bugs.
I think it's better he made a thread to get the info. straight before he goes on a race server and start drifting because he didn't know he shouldn't. Actually this is one of his better posts/threads.
Frankly I'm not surprised he asked. I've been on a 'drift' server once and been told off for going race speed when not even interfering with anyone. Some LFS admins will make you paranoid.
Exactly, it's not realistic. They toss on about how realistic it is and it how 'feels' to be a rally driver with their BS, but it's just a big arcadey lie. Maybe if they made the physics realistic then I would know how it feels to be a rally driver. (sorry 'off-road' driver now)
And FWIW I still think it should be called Ken Block Dirt Games
Waving Colin McRae's name all over it, sheesh seriously warped.
He changes the difficulty from Casual to Serious in the first video. Re-looking at it I can it's set to visual only. Ok so I was wrong there.
I don't have issues with popular things, I have issues with crapola made to suit the sheep herd of morons that eat any crap served to them. Telemarketing is popular to.
I do have the original DiRT btw, I had to tweak the physics grip off by 30% to make it vaguley realistic. Glad to see they concentrate on the fluffy dice and fancy menus to get players interested. Looks like another physics mod will be required to make the game playable.
the linky don't work. edit: ok i refreshed browser and it works now.
But after all, if a car is close behind you your team would say, "he has pitted once already, the guy in front hasn't pitted yet." They would tell you information relevant to your situation. In LFS you can't ask for specific info to the game to that detail, it's not going to matter a whole lot if you happen to know the guy in last place hasn't pitted yet and your two laps ahead in first place. True, you wouldnt know that info, BUT if you needed to know who has pitted, you could ask your team and they would tell you. So I dunno how the extra info on screen gives any advantage or difference to real life. The info is possible to get over the radio isn't it?
Position list would be most logical place to put it.
Also I'd like a 4th & 5th option when using "N" that turns OFF the position list and cars over names ON/OFF as well. You can only turn off position list by going through the menus which isn't possible while racing and the position list covers up my side mirror, but sometimes I really need that position list. Has this "N" toggle been requested? I searched, but after about 20mins I gave up looking.
hmmm, maybe just Shift-F and turn off everything. But I do find Names over cars and the map useful on all the time. I like to know who is crashing me and how far the pack is away and who are the leaders that need to be waived through when I'm getting blue flagged in a pack of lapped and lead lap cars.
Re-gear pickup gear. Change the smaller gear to an even smaller gear. This may make the FFB achieve less torque meaing the FFB will probably go moot.
move the smaller gear axel so it meshes with the larger wheel axel gear.
or the alternative is to get a larger large gear and that means it would be bigger than the casing so you would see the top of the gear sticking out of the top of the wheel base case. Also the case might not be big enough underneath to support that so you would have to make the case base deeper underneath the wheel axel to accomodate that. Yes, as easy as I just described :/
oh, and I forgot to mention you need to put a stopper back in to stop it rotating too far and wrecking the potentiometer linkage. This would require redesigning the stopper mechanism inside the gear casing.
Sounds like fun eh?
Maybe just get a DFP with more degrees. Save yourself a nighmare in hell.
I built my own & just finished this week so I can't suggest one to buy sorry, since I haven't been looking at prices and comparing, but this stuff is expensive. At least the hyperstimulator doesn't cost over $1000
