I have not done any iRacing for months and was now planning on going out on the track again after the revolutionary iR tyre pack. I guess, I won't rent me a car, but pull out my own fully paid FXO and XRT at South City instead .
And, yes, I'd gladly pay another £ or two to support Scawier in their works. Feels good to award teams that deserve it.
iRiE_SLyDAH808,
good to hear you ordered a G27... you will never regret it!
Also, do not be too frustrated at start with LFS since it is quite different from Forza etc. Just be patient and find out all the fantastic elements of LFS with time. It may seem very different from any other driving game as you start to explore it, but practice and dedication sure pay off really good in LFS - just as IRL racing.
Good luck with your new investment - and be prepared for hundreds of hours of fun online! ! Don't hesitate to post questions if you feel getting stuck at any point!
When referring to G25/27 and similar I did not really picture such gears as the GT. I did however count Fanatec as a similar wheel since these brands are often compared in reviews. The pros & cons between these wheels are subject to personal preferences imo. According to you it is way better than G2X. Good.
In short, the point of my comment is: LFS + "a good wheel" = fantastic gameplay as compared to driving with kb/mouse/joystick/bad wheel. And that relates to the OP. Hope I made it more clear.
40 great laps at SO5 tonight! Thanks all for making this event very intense and sweaty (summer time and my G25 is overheating just like me )
Congrats to the winner (shoock) and cudos to everybody as we all finished the 1.5 hour+ event without any major incidents .
Too bad you do not like the in-car view. To be honest I do not see the benefit of using an outside camera when running a car simulator. I know this is how car games are (extensively) played these days, but instead of extending the use of "follow" mode with mirrors an other gadgets, I believe it is better to aim for better cockpit development.
The LFS cockpit views and its options is one of the best on the maket in my opinion. You can actually set it up to your own liking like no other game out there. This is one of (among many other) reasons I still play LFS.
Hopefully you will eventually see the fun and benefits of actually sitting "inside".
Thanks all for a good event! The SO3 and special 1vs1 was a lot of fun. My focus was not the best since I spent it on IRL racing this weekend (similar to this event here and here) but always good to come back to LFS and having quality gaming. Keep it up Jorge and we'll soon be filling up the grid with full manual fellas!
This session was a blast, thanks all for participating
Sorry I could not deliver more competition due to a flip in the first heat, but hey, that's the way it goes!
Don't understand how you can make such a statement. Using LFS with a mouse/kb is like ordering a pizza with nothing on it. Not even tomato sauce.
The quality time increases 100-fold if not more by using the full potential of LFS, i.e. a proper hardware. But that's just my opinon. I'm glad tho that many users enjoy LFS even with mouse/kb, I know I would have a hard time appreciating it for what it really is.
Ah, too bad Davo, I feel for you. Selling the G25 wasn't wise
Think of all the fun with the new tyre physics release approaching. And you stand there with a mouse...
Seriously, the purpose of this server is to allow drivers enjoy the full potential of LFS by using full manual settings. Everyone with a G25/G27 or similar (Fanatec etc) probably understand this aim. Perhaps, many people do not realize what a different game LFS is with proper hardware? LFS surely can be enjoyed using keyboard/mouse/joystick etc. and many servers are testimony to that. And that is good - the more the merrier!
This server is different in the way it forces everyone to put other skills to use: clutch/gear-box handling, steering, braking and accelerating (I know, there are of course other servers with similar restrictions and aims, but unfortunately not too many). Whilst doing so it also elevates the fun-factor to new levels, where winning simply isn't the most important anymore. It's been replaced by the cheers of a fun race .
This is done. Still racers connect and get sent back out, perhaps due to language barriers or simply by not paying attention to information.
Too bad really that you do not have the config to meet the entry requirements. South City surely is a blast and even I am now starting to get decent with the UFR. Please join us if you do get a wheel.
The demo needs registering as well. Only need to type your chosen online "gaming" nickname and password first time you enter Multiplayer from the LFS game menu (not your forum details - your gaming details!).
So, it is the same info you use to log into http://www.lfs.net where you manage your account. Click "Unlock" and you should be set.
I think most confusion arises when ppl forget what nickname they chose, so be very observant on whatever you enter in the process.
Hope you solve it.
This is an excellent opportunity for G25/G27 all manual users (or other alike). I must say I'm not very good with the UFR, but so far I've had nothing but fun on this server.
Great spirit alquimista, keep it up!
@rainspecialist,
I think that if you read more than 4 words at a time you get what the Op means? Since I'm picky, it's "...you're" or "you are" right? Come and join the fun!
