UFR Challenge
Hello!

I'm a UFR and SO tracks fan and created a server only for competitions on this car and tracks.

I want to test the server with a event ... only for wheels with clutch pedal and h-shifter ... trying to keep it as real as possible.

If you are interested please post here and let me know so i can arrange a event.

The server name is UFR South City - Clutch & Shift

Have fun ,
Jorge

Server Updates:

Dedicated server with LFSLapper restrictions:

.H-Shifter and clutch pedal only
.No auto-clutch/auto-gears
.No help break
.Cockpit view only

Keep it real!
Have fun!

... maybe i should say "I'm a fan of UFR and SO tracks ..." and then you will say: "if you are a fan maybe you can fly"
This is an excellent opportunity for G25/G27 all manual users (or other alike). I must say I'm not very good with the UFR, but so far I've had nothing but fun on this server.

Great spirit alquimista, keep it up!

@rainspecialist,

I think that if you read more than 4 words at a time you get what the Op means? Since I'm picky, it's "...you're" or "you are" right? Come and join the fun!
I can see a lot of drivers connecting to the server and not abble to race because they dont have the right config on LFS Options Menu.

This is how you must config:

On LFS Options/Control:
. Throtlle / Brake Axis: Separate
. Wheel turn: 720º (for G25/G27 this sould also be setted on Logitech Profiler)
. Gear Shift Mode: Shifter
. Clutch: Axis
. Configure the Axes/FF and Shifter (dont forget to set "Force Feedback" and "Remove Dead Zones" to Yes)

On LFS Options/Driver:
. Brake Help: No
. Gear Shift Mode: Shifter
. Auto-Clutch: No

On LFS Options/View:
. Default Driver View: In Car

A website for the server and a UFR SO1 event will come soon

In our experience, people will not check the forum to find out why they are not allowed in a particular server.

You should add that information to the text shown whilst connecting, and give useful error messages for users who are spectated/kicked (via Airio/Lapper).

Sucks to be me then, mouse user with UFR and SO track love... why all the mouse hate all of a sudden?

Hi Davo!

Nobody hates nobody ... there are other servers where you can race with a mouse ... the idea here is to have a server that makes this excellent racing simulator become as real as possible ... and where everyone who spend a lot of money in a good wheel can race in equal conditions ... i see many drivers with a G27 not using the shifter or the clutch just because that makes them slower compared to full automatic drivers.

This is not about excluding drivers ... but to promote the racing simulation (as real as possible) ... maybe one day if you have the chance to buy a good wheel you will understand what i mean

This is done. Still racers connect and get sent back out, perhaps due to language barriers or simply by not paying attention to information.

Too bad really that you do not have the config to meet the entry requirements. South City surely is a blast and even I am now starting to get decent with the UFR. Please join us if you do get a wheel.

I have a momo but the pedals are worn out so I use mouse every now and then and am quite good with it beating some with wheel. I sold my G25 when lfs development seemed to hit a brick wall and thought I'd never touch this game again, atleast for a few years anyway haha. Now I regret selling the G25 and have to put up with dodgy momo.
Ah, too bad Davo, I feel for you. Selling the G25 wasn't wise
Think of all the fun with the new tyre physics release approaching. And you stand there with a mouse...

Seriously, the purpose of this server is to allow drivers enjoy the full potential of LFS by using full manual settings. Everyone with a G25/G27 or similar (Fanatec etc) probably understand this aim. Perhaps, many people do not realize what a different game LFS is with proper hardware? LFS surely can be enjoyed using keyboard/mouse/joystick etc. and many servers are testimony to that. And that is good - the more the merrier!

This server is different in the way it forces everyone to put other skills to use: clutch/gear-box handling, steering, braking and accelerating (I know, there are of course other servers with similar restrictions and aims, but unfortunately not too many). Whilst doing so it also elevates the fun-factor to new levels, where winning simply isn't the most important anymore. It's been replaced by the cheers of a fun race .
Raced there for a while today, and i have to say if this becomes a bit more popular, it would bring some of the old racers back. It really makes my G25 worth it now.

UFR has never been my car of choice, but driven this way it's probably the best FWD car in LFS.

Very good server, keep up the good work!
Great server and frienldy owner! Cant wait to test it with more ppl on
Hell!

The 1st event on "UFR South City - Clutch & Shift" server will take place on a Sunday (03-07-2011) at 14.00H UTC Time.

This is the 1st of 6 events in all South City tracks. After that a UFR Challenge (league) will be organized.
This 1st event will be on SO1 (South City Classic).

The event will have a 15 minutes qualifying period and 2 races of 15 laps each (1 pit stop must be done).

The event is open only for drivers with H-Shifter/Clutch Pedal Wheel.
Your inscription will only be accepted after you do at least 1 laptime below 48 sec on the server.
The server will become private 24h before the event and i will send you the password by then.

See the server rules and event shedule here http://www.ufrchallenge.com/so1-01.html

After reading the server rules and event shedule send your incription to jorgehumbertoalves@hotmail.com

3 days before the event starts the server will have the same config as the event so you can practice the 15 laps and pit stops like they will happen on the event.

Have Fun!

Jorge
Just had a few good races with Jorge there tonight. I even managed to beat the server record() after tweaking the setup Jorge kindly gave me.

Looking forward to the event, hopefully nothing comes up and I'll be able to race.

This is where sim racing is at it's best lads. Everyone on similar wheel/pedal/shifter/view setup.

Good stuff Jorge, keep it up and thanks for hosting!
Excellent idea

Will join when I have some spare time.
yeah it sounds good. will be much fun! i try to participate, depends on my spare time.
exellent server been racing with jorge its good that everyone is on level pegs,it was a bit tricky getting used to the clutch but jorge is very patient lol,so if you have time pop in for a blast its great fun
It would be excellent to race there... if I had a 3 pedal wheel and h-shifter...

Well, good luck with it...

PS: and some open events, probably with manual shifting but allowing auto clutch?! Think about it, Jorge...

Sorry Nuno ... but if i make exceptions then i will miss the main point on this project... thank you for your support ... hope to see you on track one day with a 3 pedal/h-shifter wheel

Abraço,
Jorge
