hi lynce its good to see you bro. If you feel that its the right time to release them then do it bro
We are all just very grateful for the continued work you do as your works are always a vast improvement for us
I have done 262382 Ml on lfs with a ps3 gamepad and even though I agree it takes away some of the feeling of really driving I got the handling set pretty good with it. If I compare using a gamepad to when I try my wheel then lfs is the easiest to use a gamepad on where I am better with my wheel in a.c
first you need to set it too either being a combined axis or separate axis in options/controls then click the axis tab on the far right. Then once that is set click on the word accelerate and press your gas pedal and look for which axis/slider is moving on the righthand side and click on that to assign it
do this for each axis (may need to do it for steering and brake)
A good person to ask is lfs racer Dido bmw, he does a lot of drift competitions in real life and no doubt he would have tried drifting in lfs aswell sometime
it would be I agree, but I think due to touch screen translating as a mouse control in windows and so it basically being supported I doubt it would be something they would do soon
I still use my old Xbox Type-S gamepad for many games (having to use x360ce for newer games that only support Xinput tough) and still works great. This old Type-S along with DualShock 2 & 3 all have pressure sensitive buttons and while motioninjoy makes it possible to use this neat feature for PS2 games on PC, I was wondering if it was possible to use it for PC games as well (such as LFS of course).
I believe it should do but will check later to be 100% sure
The tilt control would've been something that i would of thought wasnt supported but it is
As some knows, my wheel is broken, so I use a DUALSHOCK 3 to play to LFS.
MotionInJoy emulates it like a Xbox 360 controller, so I don't have compatibility problems. But I think that LFS should have a proper gamepad support for people that don't have enough money to buy a good wheel.
So, I propose :
- Steering aid option : Even if I don't use it, I think that beginners need this kind of help to correctly drive and 'get the trick'
- More fluid steering : Even with analog smoothing at max, it's not really cool and need some improvements
- Vibration support : For me, what's make the game really immersive when using a gamepad, some games have impressive vibration integration (Assetto Corsa, Forza Motorsport)
Sorry for my bad English !
with the right mix of analogue steer smooth and steer reduction you can get the steering quite good.
Ive done 418919 Km/260311 Ml with the ps3 dual shock and find it rather good. For full support i think it is windows that lacks the capability and thats why motionjoy is needed
for seperate triggers ect that has always been possible aswell as using as combined
i had this back when i first started to play lfs. Usually a reboot used to seem to fix it but it could of been due to the server updating to the masterhost
But how is all that related to my theory about endurance and driver swaps affecting how setups are built?
They alter there setups dependant on conditions and length of race ect, which they all do, what is it they actually change then when swap over , seat height ?? pedal position ?? alter stuff on the engine due to it being well run in (hot) mixture ect
This argument is pretty irrelevant. In the real world, there's rape and murder. Just because it is happening doesn't make it right. Maybe you're the type of guy who jumps off a building because everyone else is and wants to fit in.
lol, where did i say that if something happens in real world its right ? , what i said is that there are much more serious things in the real world and peoples lives so something like someone using your setup is petty compared to that
I see your point in your last sentence, although I still don't approve your opinion on setup stealing. As if you were around in LFS for the last couple years, you would know that the competitive scene is dominated by endurance, where 3-4 people use the same setups and become much more generic, than suiting a single person's taste, hence making it a lot "better" target for setup stealing. How do you want to personalize a setup made for 3 or more people? It's not really achieveable. It's just how the car handles a one hour stint, how well the setup manages the tires along with you and how fast you can go while doing all that.
You also rant on how people make bad equaliences with card games and such, but you really do the same by trying to compare club racing and professional racing.
the thing is that a setup that is good for wont mean its going to be good for the next person. IRL if 2 racers have the same cars would that mean they both will cross the finish line together, no as its down to the drivers capabilities
