Well said, a sim should simulate real life so real cars and tracks are a must.
My local track is Cadwell Park and i think i have done over 1000 laps round it at trackdays in loads of different cars from a Saxo to my own WRC Focus, a home made 7 to a Caterham R500.
I have Cadwell Park on rFactor, GTR2, GTL/GPL and Race07 and even though none of those games are as good as LFS you certainly get faster round the real track by using the Sim track to practice,
What i do is try all the cars and select one that is as close to the one i will be using by feel, not by looks. Even though the car i am using in the sim may be a different shape that make little difference as i can only see the dash when i am driving.
And this is one of the major problems with the development of LFS.
I feel that the devs have concentrated too much on the replay, AI and looks rather on the feeling inside the car.
Replays and AI Etc is great for a game you watch but does little to immerse you into the game.
If Patch Z had an extra car and a new track rather than all the other stuff that is nothing to do with racing we would have had over the moon.

I bet if there was a new car every month and a track every 6 months LFS would be twice as big and grow ten times as fast.
Full servers is the best racing and we will not get full servers without CONTENT.
At the exact time i am posting this, LFSW says there is 660 racers and 660 servers so you are right we need more racers and the only way to do that is get new cars and tracks (CONTENT). You certainly will not get many more with better A1, replay controls, and all the other in the last patch Etc Etc
I can get 282 on my servers with 192 racing but to get 192 racing we need 20000 racers and face facts thats never going to happen without more content, and if we have to wait over 12 months for a FZR dash there is little chance of getting more CONTENT and so more racers.
There was a pole a while ago asking which cars we wanted and there was a huge amount of people wanted a LM type cars (Prototype). An F08 with a body would almost do, but we got nothing.
I have had 3 emails from Team members today saying that they are trying other sims, including one WR holder, some have requested i set up a GTR2 server, several have or are trying iRacing including another WR holder.
To be fair i am fed up asking, just like most others are, because we never get what we want or when we want it and we dont even get a comment from the devs to keep us happy.
LFS is a sim that will develope into the number one but it could just as easily die while we wait.
I think 90% of us would not think twice in paying for more CONTENT if we could and there are a lot like me who spend more in a month on servers than we have spent on the game we love.

I have just been round the oval both ways but i still cant find the chicane
As the most popular AS3/GTR servers on LFS, we leave ConeDodgers 1 set to that combo all the time.
We have tried a track for a week, F1 points leagues, Skill Leagues, Other combos, Mini GTR's, MRT league, Multi-car league, long races, short races, changing combos after a number of races.
The fact is that with our 6 servers each with 47 slots and 32 racers its easier to fill 2 servers on AS3/GTR than get 8 racers on another combo.
ConeDodgers 4 has our hotlap challenge running on it and that can get a few racers on it at anytime, but its never full.
Lets fact a few facts, LFS is a great sim, in fact the best but it lacks CONTENT
The devs do a fantastic job and for such a small team so what else can we expect.
We all want 100 tracks and 200 cars but it aint gonna happen.
I am sure the devs are well aware that they lose players all the time but as long as there is as many joining as leaving they dont seem worried.
CONTENT is the key, just think back to the 2 most mental periods in LFS history
Just recall the BF1 and FBM/S06 introduction, everyone wants to try them as soon as they come out and if the devs want to keep players a new car and track every few months would do it.
One new car or track a year will not keep people coming back
When Patch Z came out, i was amazed how many of the old username appeared out of the woodwork.
In my eyes if the devs set that as goal rather than all the stuff only the few use, the number of players would rocket but until there is real CONTENT that changes regularly its going to stay static and AS3/GTR's will stay full.
Please, Please dont slate me for this post as i am one person who has tried everything to keep our servers full and to develope systems to do it but it would be so nice to have some new stuff to keep our users happy.

I think your program could become much more usefull with some simple changes.
1) More smaller buttons so we have more messages
2) Allow admin command in a message (After all its only as if you did T and typed it)
So and entry of "/restart" would allow a server admin to restart by clicking a button
/RCM FULL COURSE YELLOW would then be allowed and we could have another button the switched it off
3) Allow multiple commands on one button
So and entry of /msg Sorry Guys a sleeper on the grid |/restart
This would all mean that your program could do what it does now and much much more and be very useful for race admins

I fully agree with you, if we cant have real tracks have tracks made up from parts of real tracks so no fees like Brandserton or Snett Park
Becky, add to your list "The mountain" at Cadwell Park, I once did a charity event using my 2001 Focus 4x4 World rally Car to take passangers and when i asked what he thought one passanger said
"Just fit a toilet roll holder to the passangers side for when you go over the mountain"
I always smile going over that corner since.
Connection List Order
It would be great to be able to have the ingame connection list into a useful order.
On CD1 we allow votes as its a public server but have a problem with stupid "vote to kick" users
Someone clicks a username to kick or ban often gets the wrong person as the list has re-sorted itself. (We have all done it)
Other lemmings then follow pressing 1
Currently the list order on a busy server is a nightmare as it moves far to much
It should be in order of when they joined, oldest on the top, newest at the bottom, that way the list movement would be at its minimum.
Latency bars should also be part of the connection list as its almost imposible to work out who has a connection problem from the bars to the list.
When someone who leaves they should stay in the list for X seconds but be marked as left (Colour change pehaps), if they rejoin they retake their place in the list
These changes would cure the "I clicked the wrong person" problem but not the stupid votes
To cure that the connection list could have V1, V2, V3 etc against those who have voted, where V1 started the vote.

Its upto 2G, and in theory if you turn one way at 1G then the other way, the transfer could simulate 2G
Lotes tells me this system was 12 million Euro for the site.
It certainly needs to be busy to break even so i bet they gained a huge grant from the EEC.
I wonder if the devs gave them a free copy of LFS we could all get a free go in the sim, sounds fair to me..............

I have done Cadwell Park 1000's of times in many many different cars in real life (Its my local track).
For Sims i use a Frex motion system http://conedodgers.com/conedod ... iew&id=4&Itemid=1
The rFactor version has a few parts that are not quite right but its no way that bad. Use the Caterham R500 or the 6R4 and they are close to the real thing.
Going over the mountain sidwards still has the same feel its just that in a sim you dont actually crap yourself.
LFS is very good but you have to admit that having real tracks is an advantage, and look as hard as i can i just cannot find Aston on the UK map so maybe its not real

Seems a bit strange that you used the cheat on a CD server to get in the !top list more than once.
Your best time of 1:36.940 for FXR on AS3 which is over 4 seconds faster than the WR is still on LFSWorld so please dont try to put over that you only used it once as that is total crap.
You were even stupid enough to use it in a 10 lap race and even then you only came 2nd, so how sad is that.

Anyway as we have said on CD servers using any cheat gets you a lifetime ban on all our servers which will never be removed and i hope other servers do the same.

It only takes a few seconds to check the database for someone who has done an impossible split to find out who needs the ban so whats the point of using a cheat, after all you are only cheating yourself.

I seem to be doing more and more rFactor and GTR2 lately, more cars, real tracks, i prefer LFS but its developement is just far to slow.

Dispite all that some say there can be great advantages being in a race team. Sets, training, skins, private servers, leagues, team races, team website, team forum Etc. ConeDodgers is the biggest team on the LFS listings and we have some great drivers (and some average ones).
We have team members who only use LFS every few months but others that on on every day. Our youngest driver is 16 and the oldest is 57 (you are only as old as the women you feel........).
Being in a team can be great fun and is certainly worth it.
Before you ask:
Membership of CD is by invite only but all i can say is put in some miles online and once you start winning races someone from a team will notice and will ask you.
We only have two team rules
#1 "Let birder win"
#2 "Refer to rule #1"
but if i threw people out for breaking it there would no members left.
Tip:
Make sure that you can leave the team if you want to or it can get rather nasty.
We allow that but have never had a member want to leave yet.

I have had to ban 7 in the last week alone due to this hack, thats not a problem as our ban files are sync'ed but we have to also remove the PB's from our LFSBuddy data on all 6 servers which is a problem even though we can do this in the game.
We now have a simple rule, if someone cheats its a lifetime ban,

Same problem here, tried lap 49 sector 1 to lap 51 sector 1 and sevel cars are missing
When mprEdit reads the replay its says " xxxx Disconnected" for severl players.
I have tried it with different start and end times but its always the same

It seems that this hack is now availble from several people and is being sent out on request.
I would just like to say that anyone who uses a hack or cheat on any CD server will be banned for life. I have done 4 in the last 2 days.
I once again ask that the Developers look into this and fix it as soon as possible or at least as part of Y18. Stopping such a hack is much more important than most of the items in current patch and they should please get the fix out as soon as possible before the good name of LFS is damaged.
As to those who use any sort of cheat, its not at all clever as you are only cheating yourselves. Please whatever you do just think about how it will effect all of rest of the users on LFS
