Have noticed that when someone joins our servers the last latency bar shoots up. Normally it recovers but several times it has timed the new joiner out. This seems more than V2

I can only think that you are upset by being lapped so many times in the few races you have done on our servers. Face facts with times like those you would get in the way and the quickest way to get banned on CD servers is not obey the blue flags.

I am not sure why you feel the need to have a go at our servers or our team, all we are doing is have some fun with like minded people using LFS. There are always a few that feel the need to say something when they have no real knowledge of what they are talking about and you seem to be one of those.

Oh by the way LFS is a game, you seem to have forgotten that.

Why not go on to CD1 and ask a few of the lads if they can help you get your lap time down rather than having a go at us.

We dont mind if you wear your designer dress, sparkly crown and pink silk driving gloves but draw the line when you hang your "Prado" handbag on the choke knob or do your makeup while driving, all i can think is it must be your time of the month and you have PMS problems, you "tarty bitch".

Yes, no movement at all, the same as you can do with Shift+U.

Thats a huge list Hyperactive but just imagine if it was being developed by a bigger team.

A few weeks ago i had chance to hire my Frex motion simulator setup to a company for a corporate do, with my fee going to Charity.

On it i have LFS, GTR, GTL, GTR2, Race, Rfactor GPL with loads of mods Etc Etc Etc

First remember that its run in single player mode to people who dont use a simulator. (Noobs)

GTL and GTR2 came out as favorites, The looks, sounds, real named cars and tracks were the reason.

The amount of people who wanted to race a GT40 round Doninton was amazing.

At the same "do" there were 2 ARD's licenced trainer drivers who both liked LFS best.

My point is that once LFS gets better sounds, better interiors and the bugs fixed there will be nothing close but lets face facts with such a small team of devs progress is very slow compared to the huge teams in the other sims.

I also think that it will never be the number 1 in sales without real cars and real tracks but then do we want it to be the number 1 in sales as long as its just the best.

Online LFS is still the king.

Finally i am still amazed how many more Demo users are online than licenced, i think trying to be backward compatible may well be holding things up and i always think that a new non-compatible patch with new features gives everyone a buzz, the hotlappers have fresh start, the races all try for new laptimes, and the insim programmers have new toys to play with.

Roll on the next non-compatible version with some real progress like the last one when the BF1 was added.

For some time i have been trying to make a decent video file of the LFS: GTR League.

At last i can do that with your excellent tool and with a little work it could well be the "Standard" tv tool for LFS.

Its simple to use and the results, (as is), are great but i have one problem.

In last nights D2 race we had a grid of 17 GTR's on AS3 so as you can imagine it was rather manic. Director follows the action but as the action was down the field the program never showed the leader or 8 of the cars.

Suggestions (If you want them):

1) Allow a Fixed Camera position

I put a camera in front of the tyres at the bottom of the AS3 chicane but can never get it quite right, it would work if its fixed

2) Follow a certain car (Such as the leader) rather than the action.

Maybe an action / select car setting somehow.

The D2 race was 17:20 long so using fraps i have recorded (Using Director) the whole race at half speed, i now have to do the same in standard view, incar view and the edit them together from the 100+ minutes, and then export it at race speed.

Once LFS Replays can be rewound things will get easier but if you ever get to the point where we could have a replay timeline, selecting which camera we want to use at what time in the timeline making action videos from LFS would take a huge jump forward.

1) Currently the connection list changes order, and often people send messages to the wrong people as just at the moment the list changes. This also happens when players vote to kick or ban.

So please fix the list so latest joiners are at the bottom. Needed for 2)

I also think that the latency should be part of the connections list so its simpler to see who is lagging

2) cfg setting /adminkickban

This setting would only work for those logged on as admin by clicking the kick or ban in the connections list it would automatically add the command and username to the chat box

3) Vote should have several settings in the cfg /vote kick, restart, ban, qualify so there is control on what can be voted on.

4) I think that several of the setting, message options and actions from LFSLapper should become standard Dedi server settings

At Conedodgers ([CD] 1 Servers is set to AS3 10 laps + Pit) 99% of people who get blue flags have used Shift+S or joined midrace.

Most races are 17.05 to 17.30 minutes long so no driver on the pace would ever get a blue flag.

We give a warning, kick once and then ban for drivers not obeying the blue flag.

We feel the word "UNIMPEDED" is the important one in our rules.

Our rules state:

Blue Flag
One or more competitors are about to lap you. You must hold your course and allow them to pass UNIMPEDED. You must make sure you change speed and leave room to be passed. DO NOT RACE A CAR THAT IS A LAP AHEAD.

Should you pass a slower car and then find you get a blue flag warning you can carry on but MUST NOT IMPEDE THEM IN ANY WAY.

Simply make an option setting,

Number plate - on or off

That way with the option set to off, no plate is shown and you could have what you want on your skin for those who want something special or nothing

I race FZR most of the time and i hate the Patch V sounds. I think your sound is about as good as you will get it with the current system.

So its a considerable improvement.

Sorry, but I have no real comment to make that will change anything, the first skin in red and black was sent to me by a user and even though it does look a lot like the skin you show if rather different, and their are a lot of skins that are similar to this.
If the person did get the idea from your skin then i dont think he did anything wrong as all skins are downloaded into the skinx folder and as such are public.
Most of the fine detail on your skin is for NUFC and on our the skin background is normally carbon, also i think the rear is very different.
I am not sure what you expect from me or what you expect me to do even if he did copy your skin idea.

I had no way of knowing how you came to be using the skin and was curious, and it does bear a remarkable resemblance to the NUFC version (the 2 decals on the upper right of the bonnet seem unchanged).
If you want, I would be happy to do some high res versions for you. All I would want in return would be my web address on the skin somewhere.
Obviously I can't stop you using the ones you have at the moment if you choose to, but I think you can see where I'm coming from.

I have just asked the guy who sent me it and he assures me he did it himself, but when i put his and yours together some of it is in the same position so i think someone is telling me a bit of bullshit.
With 100's of versions out there i dont think i could ask people to put on your website as its hard enough to get them to put on our own.

My comments

I would like to thank BeanO for his understanding but think i should comment with the following points

1) If a skin is made by one person and someone changes it, removing the names etc and then sends it to another person as thiers, how can anyone be sure.
2) As the skinx folder is the easiest way to look at skins, and the devs have not made these encrypted this will always be a problem. We had a huge bust up between the [MG] team and new LFSer they other week over the use of a skin
3) I fully understand that bean0 most likely made the NUFC skin but I have had an email today from another person saying in fact he made the orgional.
4) All the skins have copyright issues, Bean0's from NUFC and mine from him, MG Racing from MG Blah Blah Blah
5) ConeDodgers would have asked permission if they were aware
6) LFS is a game and we all take it much to serious.
7) Does it really matter as who is ever going to take legal action on such a point.
