Thanks for the constructive feedback!

The internal mirror will be improved for sure. It is not very good looking especially in VR.

Regarding the minimum height, I hope this can be achieved by adjusting the "max up" value in editor. I'll see what I can do.

I will also try to improve the collision mesh to be more forgiving about rear impacts.

I can confirm that when I have assigned a custom button for "virtual keyboard" in control options, I enter a text field and press that button, I expect the VR keyboard to appear. It obviously doesn't make sense to work on pressing Backspace, but it could work with the custom bind.

As another VR user, the main issue for personally is that pressing the 'virtual keyboard' button while a text field is selected does not pull up the keyboard (or toggle it back off, for that matter). Fixing that would be all I'd ask.

Having the virtual keyboard pop up every time you select a field would be unnecessary if you have a physical keyboard at hand, unless there were a toggle for it in the options.

Hi, please can you explain how you would like it to behave?

I think VR with these special text entry boxes was something I never thought about at all.

But I've got too many things on my list, to start trying to imagine this or getting out the VR headset. So it would be helpful if you could explain what you would like it to do.

Is it as simple as, you want it to appear when you click in one of those boxes, then disappear when you press enter?

Quote from Kid222 :The "installed mods" was removed? I can't seem to find it now.

Aye, I was finding it useful as a chronological list of downloaded mods. Handy for reference while testing out a bunch if nothing else. Favourites list can sort of fulfill similar roles but I'm not going to fav everything I download as a reminder that I have, in fact, downloaded it.

I do understand that it was a bit odd as removing a mod from the "Installed list" wouldn't actually mean it isn't installed -- the files stay in the mods directory (which is a way I could keep track of things, although it's more troublesome in VR).

Not sure how difficult a Filter/Sort option would be for "Date Downloaded/Installed", but something like that may work well with the improved Mods list layout.

Still have a lot of difficulty showing virtual keyboard in VR in mod menu ...

+1 for this as well. I generally click on a field to type, then press the button to pull up the Virtual Keyboard, then remember it doesn't work so I have to hit Back and then VK and then select the field again... and then start typing. Probably wouldn't be such an issue if my rig's wireless keyboard didn't die recently.

Mod columns are great.
For some reason I had no thumbnail on Toyate Supraze.
What about a 3wheelers filter?
Still have a lot of difficulty showing virtual keyboard in VR in mod menu ...
It is going the good way thanks for the good work.

Quote from Zopiac :So far the only issue I have with this mod is that I can't see out the mirrors terribly well. The left isn't so bad, and the rearview is only a problem because I set my view lower than default (as is the case in many LFS cars as well), but the right mirror in particular is pretty much useless.

i tired fix rearview mirror, i dont have any vr so i cant test it. i fixed right mirror. when you have free time can you try it and feedback me ?

Hi, i love the engine sound, in vr, the driver's position is too near from steerwheel :/ this mod need improvement, keep it up!

Car looks and feels great! One caveat to the former is that the seat positions are rather odd -- on the Daily setup the steering wheel is about 1cm away from the seat, whereas on the Track setup the seat is very far back. Also for the default driver position, I have to move the camera quite far back and down which makes the rearview mirror unusable. This is in VR, by the way, which is why seating position is rather important to me.

I enjoy the fact that the daily and track setups feel almost like different cars; I particularly enjoy that the caster angle on Track is 4.5 versus the Daily's 6.0, the latter of which makes the steering quite stiff and forcing me to turn the FFB down to prevent clipping.

Speaking of clipping, while the car audio tone is fantastic, I have to turn the exhaust volume down to about 1.5 to keep it from clipping at any instance of full throttle.

None of this prevents the car from being an absolute joy to drive, though! Loving it.

Quote from timdecnodder :To anwser your last question, i think many enjoy the mods, but don’t want to go out and vote via website, maybe it breaks there gaming experience or they don’t think their votes make any difference. In the end of the day we’re all human and some have other priorities

Doubly so in VR. When the mods first released you could rate them ingame and I did, but once multiple rating categories were soon added it took me a bit to realise that pages were opening in my browser window, since I'm not staring at my physical monitor when in LFS.

HP Reverb G2 here. LFS is soooo crisp in VR. Best out there really.

Another G2 with problems here. I used to have the Rift CV1, working great in this sim, but now that i upgraded to the reverb G2 it is completely wrong. The only way i can describe what happens here is, imagine a normal VR image, but zoomed in, so everything seems streched. tried to change some in game configs like fov and others but with no result. Other games run fine in this G2 like ACC, rF2, flight sims.

In vr, the steerwheel is to low, maybe you can inspire yourself from here : https://cdn.classicdigest.com/live/carimg/172001_172100/172026_5168cb3d3098e2e1.jpg great mod btx!

To fully reproduce start a new host and go to pits and then mods.
If I click virtual keyboard then BKSP does not shut it down.
If I first click on a field like name or author then virtual keyboard does not show up.
A bit annoying in VR...

Nice and fun mod! The driver animation is cool, but it's a bit distracting in VR because the head stays in center while the body is moving around. So it's bit disorienting. Just letting you know if you haven't tried it with VR yourself.

Quote from Scawen :Umm... well it's more like, we need some money to pay bills, otherwise And if I am to take you seriously and disregard my suspicion that you are just a troll...

But I perceive you will believe what you want to believe.

Why would I be a troll? I'm an amateur game developer, somewhat like you except I don't do it for a living nor do I have any actual worthwhile games to my name - hence amateur; I've been at it since 2006 or so*. On account of my hobby I do quite a bit of research on related subjects, monetization being one of them, piracy being another. So this is the way I see it - a miracle that it can pay three people salary. And that it's probably not a coincidence that ongoing economical recession eventually resulted in patching the seams to get better income. Like I said, I don't blame you, you're moving in the right direction.

* Maybe I could've gotten a sizeable game out in 2016, might've pushed a few million units on mobile, but it became math-heavy and virtually impossible to multithread, and then I've hit a brick wall with a mathematically unsolvable problem - an octic equation (no, numerical solutions are no good here). Well my current project for VR involves no such issues - all my maths can even be done on GPU - so maybe that one will work out.

I don't know. I had the same problem once for the RC car without bodywork. As it is an open wheeler, it is easy to look outside at least in VR.
Black screen + "Recovered from D3D device error"

Hi,

Started encountering a weird problem today.

When I try to go on track, I get a black screen with some error messages in the chat, which keep repeating every 3-5 seconds. Meanwhile, the large text on the screen cycles between "Regenerating" / "Finalizing" indefinitely.

Closing LFS and re-starting it again fixes this (most of the time).

The tyre model seemed to hate my truck so I thought that was the obvious next step too.. I've since got very distracted by 2 wheelers though so importing and cleaning up the model a bit is as far as mine ever got.
I went city bus to keep the height down but a coach will be more fun in VR with how much you'll see Big grin

This lad has some fantastic models for bus fans which I was originally planning to use - I couldn't get them to load in blender properly but if you have real paid for software you might have more luck ^^
